Mike I really enjoyed this article. You are right "you thought you were just making a coffee table" but this lesson taught you so much more. This is certainly one of my favorite articles that I have read. thank you for the wonderful lesson. Donna Report

I think with any Goal... do not be afraid to fail. When you fail, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. Always keeping your eye on the the prize, because there will always be bumps in the road. Report
Awesome, awesome, awesome!

Thank you for this :) Report
Thank you immensely for this allegory. I have had a struggle wanting the end table now. But I had not idea how to be patient and enjoy the process. This summer I built a deck all by myself. I mean right from the planning stage to the actual cutting and assembling and putting the finishing touches on it. I had never though of my goal to recreate and sculpt my body as a process such as this I understand so much more. If I can build a deck I can do this.

Thank you so much

Mike's articles are always great; but this is article on goals taught me more than all the things I have read before - which have been numerous. What a great way to get the points across. This goes to the top of my "favorites" list. In fact, I am going to print it and put it where I can refer to it often - along with my own goal list. Report
i always enjoy learning more ab out setting and reaching goals.
thanks Report
What a clever analogy! I wonder if someone really made that coffee table or just used it for an example, however, it was perfect! I like to cross-stitch and it certainly fits the model. Wonderful article! Report
