Salt is definitely a huge issue for me too. Now that I'm eating clean 90% of the time, I really notice it when I do have more sodium.

As for weighing every day, I know all the "experts" say not to do it. But, to me, I find it helps make me feel accountable. I understand that the scale isn't going to move every day. And that sometimes to is going to go up a little bit, but when I know I am on track, getting weighed every morning is part of my routine. (I only record it once a week though.)

Even if you don't track it, or eat processed food- rest assured your getting too much salt!!

Do you track your sodium intake?
For a lot of us 'women of child bearing' age salt can be the enemy, especially during the PMS part of the month.

I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

I got tired of starting over and working back to where I was, so I have stopped giving up!

I think it depends on how much stock you take in it- weather it depresses or motivates you for instance. By and large- once a week and first thing in the morning and certainly before you drink all that water! And use the SP weight tracking feature but only post it once a week there. You can even print the reports out as motivational or reminder tools.

I drink a lot of water, at least two liters every day. I take birth control and I am two pills away from the placebos, so perhaps that's what's going on. lol, I like your "orders," NADS1959. I thought about just saying NADS, but I couldn't do it.....

And is it wrong to get on the scale every day? I've been thinking about that. I do it so I know if I'm doing things right or wrong, but I know people who insist only once a week. What do you guys think?

Beef is great diet food- it wasn't the beef. (a serving is only 3 oz though). Water retention or not pooping/peeing before you weigh in could account- for me- at least 2 pounds alone. Go to the gym, eat for your body of the future, think sexy thoughts, and don't get on the scale again for a week.

COME ON NOWWWW!

Exercise will definitely help. How much water have you been drinking? The boot camp / nuitritional program I've been following for the last 5 weeks or so, suggests that everyone needs a minimum of 1.5L (6 glasses) of water a day. And, for every 20 lbs of excess body fat, you need an additional 1L (4 glasses) of water a day. So, based on that, I should be drinking about 4.5L (18 glasses) of water every day. I know that seems like an awful lot of water. But, when I do it, I notice the weight definitely comes off faster. (Of course, that may be all the extra exercise from all the extra trips to the bathroom. LOL) There could also be other things making you retain water as well. I always retain lots of water when it is really hot and humid out, or just before my ToM. EIther of those things could have been impacting the numbers on the scale for you. Just stay strong, know that you are doing the right things, and the weight loss will come.

Alright, after gaining a pound and a half from last week, I decided to go to the gym again. Starting with today. I think I'll do strength mon, wed, and fri, and do cardio tues and thurs. On the weekends, I'm usually pretty active (but I also eat pretty unhealthy).

I know I was more stressed last week, but I don't really get how I gained a 1.5. I was not as active as I could have been, but at 242, weight should still come off as long as I watch what I eat and stay in the healthy ranges - which I did. I think it is because I ate steak for a few nights for dinner (there was a sale on flank steak) and beef takes longer, and takes more water, to digest. This is my reasoning, at least.

Previously though I'd give up and be like, "What? I tried and still gained? Pshaw." But now, I'm going to look for the problem and correct it. I have a gym membership and haven't been in.....wow, like 1.5 months, so I'm going to start in the mornings again exercising. Hopefully this will work!
