I'll go ahead and be the first one to make this my goal for 2011!!

Today is 9/5/11 and I weigh 226.3. There is exactly 8 weeks until Halloween. That means, if I make my goal of one pound a week, I will weigh 218 at Halloween. :-)

Hopefully, this challenge will help me lay off all the "It's Fall, Let's Eat!" goodies!

I made my goal!!!! Today is 10/23/10 I still have one more weigh day before Halloween! My goal was to lose 15 pounds by Halloween.

Starting weight for challenge was: 234.8
Todays weight is: 219.8
Total loss: 15 pounds

I have NOT done well on this challenge. I gained weight while I was out of town for convention for my work. Then I lost that, but now, I'm stuck! I've been stuck for 3 weeks. I tried extra hard this week and made sure to stay within my calorie range and have drank water like nobodies business... and still... nothing. I am so frustrated right now I could just cry!

So, I'm still at 192.6 - the road ahead keeps getting longer and longer.

Keep it simple - complications make things... complicated.

I told Michelle that I would take on this challenge and to be honest I have not put much effort into it. :( I have not weighed in weekly either. I have only weighed in twice and seeing that I was down 4 pounds my first weigh in and now I am back up 2. I really need to be on here more often because doing it on my own just isn't working for me. This is also my first time posting on this challenge msg. board. Shame on me. My son had a birthday yesterday and I pigged out on his cake but was smart enough to ask hubby to throw the rest away. I am mad about it today so I KNOW it is a good thing it isn't here. I don't remember if I pledged to lose 8 or 10 but with only 2 lost in a month I am going to update my goal for 5 pounds from today to the end of the challenge. It is just not going to be another one of those things I give up on because I don't feel I can do it. I will try harder. I hope that you all have a great weekend and good luck with any food challenges you come across. We have to remember to feed our bodies and not our minds!

I weighed in at 181 this week. That is a 4 pound weight loss for the week. I know this will get tougher as I go along, so I will be making sure to make my cardio and strength training count. I am also starting to focus on making the food I put in my body as fuel, not filler. I hope I can keep losing 2 pounds a week through Christmas.

Thanks for this challenge! I had gotten out of the exercising habit and had just bought candy corn. It would be so easy to gain the weight that I've lost back from now till Christmas unless I focus on a goal. My goal is to lose 12.2 pounds.

I'm at odds with my doctors scales, they always are off from my scales (by 5 pounds or more). But bottom line they are supposed to be tested and accurate...and they are official.

My bi-annual doctors appointment is next week, I'm lookin' for a good report card...but I know I can still be better. I evaluate myself all the time, and I know I can kick my exercise up a notch.

It's the "room for improvement" that I always strive for. I just take one more step every day.

It's not hard...but it's not easy either. emoticon

I go back to the doctor tomorrow and will get an accurate reading on my weight, then i will be better able to see if i am making progress.

Ok, I'm a week late, but I'll take the challenge, too. I'll go for 12 lbs and hope I am being conservative and lose more. I had weight loss surgery and am going into my 6th month. The last 3 months I have averaged 3-4 lbs weekly. But they told me to start adding in healthy grains. I am afraid that will slow me down. I usually weigh in on Sundays.
Halloween will also be my 2 yr anniversary of a stroke that almost took me. I will celebrate, no matter how much I lose!
BW for this challenge is 251.

I noticed yesterday that it was 8 weeks instead of 15, but I'll keep my goal at 15#. That's less than 2 pounds per week, but more than I've been losing in recent weeks. Maybe that will be good motivation for me!

I'm up for this challenge--Been on a plateau myself, so I'll just walk more, watch sodium intake and stick to drinking plenty of water and unsweetened green tea with lemon(I use stevia or agave nectar). With eating smart and low carb I'm sure I can do this. Good luck everyone!

I'm so excited to see a new challenge here!
Halloween has always meant the start of "holiday" weight gain for me. Truly, I would start with halloween candy and just keep eating right on through Christmas!
I've been working very hard over the last several years to change some of those old patterns, and have finally managed to get out of the obese BMI range for the first time in over 20 years.
By Halloween I WILL break into a new weight decade! 140's here I come!!!! I honestly can't even remember when I weighed that last...I guess somewhere between when I graduated high school and when I got married 2 years later - and that was 27 years ago! emoticon

So my Halloween goal is 10 pounds, which will put me at 149!!!!!! emoticon

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and would love to add you all as friends, if that's ok.

Congrats on the 100 pound loss, Mike! Awesome!

Okay, so I'd like to join this challenge BUT I feel like I'd need a drill sergeant to keep me in line. I have so many things to motivate me, but yet my past failures at attempting weight loss put me in a negative frame of mind. So, I'm not gonna put a number attachment to this goal. ANY weight loss between now and Halloween would be good!

Here's my motivators-
1) High school reunion (15 year) in 3 weeks.
2) Vacation in November
3) Met a great guy that I think I'll marry in the next year or two and I'd love to look good for that!
4) After marrying said guy (lol), we'd like to have a baby and I'd like to be in good health for that as well as look cute in maternity clothes. :)
5) I'd like to look halfway decent in a swimsuit by next summer.

How's that for starters? Like I said, plenty of reasons to motivate me, but the motivation is still lacking. Blah!

I have 3 pounds to go to reach my goal. They have
stubbornly stayed on all summer. I can't seem to
shake them off. However, my challenge will be
to really strive to lost those 3 pounds by
Halloween!!!!

My name is Mike and I've been with this team over three years, and this weeks weigh in put me over the 100 pound loss milestone. emoticon I've got over 50 to go, but it's been a GREAT journey...and I'm still learning.

I'm doing a wedding weightloss challenge that ends the weekend before Halloween. My brother's wedding is the weekend before so I'll probably gain weight over that weekend. BUT I'm going to be aiming high and say I want to lose about 20lbs by Halloween. At my last weigh in I was at 184 lbs.... So that would put me at 164. Odds are I'll get that 20, but gain 5 back right before the final weigh-in but shoot high and still be happy right ;-)

Excellent! I'm leaving for Aruba the 2nd week of Nov. and I wanted to lose another 18 lbs. (gained via knee surgery) before we leave. That would put me at my lowest weight ever (150 lbs.)!

There are about 8 weeks until it is Halloween. So why not have a new updated challenge. If everyone set to even lose about 1 pound a week that is 8 pounds. So set your goals and lets work as a Team and get those unwanted pounds off!
