Another reply to a very old post... I just got 'The End of Dieting'. One big difference I think is that in EoD Dr. Fuhrman says that on the Life Plan you can have only 5 % of animal products, not 10%.
One thing I find very helpful is that he goes into several fad diets: the SAD, the Paleo Diet, Wheat Belly, Low Fat Vegan and I think also the Dukan or another kind of mediteranean diet. Because I read several of those books it was interesting to me to see what he had to say about them.

I know this thread is a few months old, but you might consider buying used. I found a perfect copy of "End of Dieting" for a total price of less than $6 with shipping. I searched Amazon's used options and found a copy listed as "very good" condition. It's literally like new.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm all about GBOMBS, and actually found out about them before ever setting eyes on Fuhrman's plan. A friend saw Fuhrman on Dr. Oz and told me about the 6 week thing.

I think maybe the other advantage to the new book would be better recipes? I seem to remember that everyone complained about Fuhrman's super soup so much, he wound up changing the recipe.

funny I read both books but can't remember...other than both being good... The end of dieting is more up to date same stuff from eat to live with with added new stuff like he talks about g-bombs, ect ....but you can't go wrong with either book

end of dieting is hardback so it cost more

You can check out both books (at the library)and compare them side by side and then get to the one you like the best.

Excellent feedback. Thank you!

I'm just delving into this group but it does seem like y'all have a wealth of information.

I bought the paperback version of Eat to Live and find that, along with tips from the group to be enough for now. It's pretty affordable with it being the paperback. I think I paid $11.

Hey all!

I'm recommitting to the nutritarian path and, rather than checking out Eat to Live from the library over and over, am going to save up to purchase it.

Since Furman's new book is "The End of Dieting," I'm wondering -- is there an advantage to getting this one? I browsed them both and they seem pretty similar. I was happy enough with ETL. Anyone prefer the new book?

Thanks all! emoticon
