I'm starting the challenge up again on Monday also. I was up to almost 30 back in September but had surgery and was not able to do any after that. I'm still having a tough time even getting 5 good push ups done. I downloaded the 100 pushups app for my I-pod on I-tunes so I wont have any excuses for not getting my pushups done

Hey guys!! I'm totally in. I will test tonight and start tomorrow.

I actually started 100 Pushups back in January when I could only do 3 "girl" pushups -- I got to the point where I could do 40, then my kung fu instructor told me it was time to switch to full pushups. I've had a hard time keeping up with the program since then, though, so it's high time I get going on it again.

Take your time! I started off with sets of 25 in between other exercises until I progressed to sets of 50. My goal still is to try to do a straight 100 but I'll get there eventually.

I didn't start back up with this, but perhaps now would be a good time. I have gone back to doing smaller sets like I did last spring and so far my hand has been ok. I think I will give it another week and then take the test either Sunday or Monday and get started again.

I've been doing this challenge ever since you started it. I love it. I make it a habit to do 100 push-ups every time I go to the gym. I am glad to say I am working towards doing 100 straight push-ups. I am doing 1,200 each month usually in 2 groups of 50.

Ok. Let's do it. I haven't made it past week 5 day 1 without getting sidetracked. I was almost there for the crunches, but cut out that too. I am sick right now, but I will start no later then next week. I'll keep you posted.

I'm back again and making progress.

Push ups
Week 4 Day 2
Set 1: 25
Set 2: 29
Set 3: 25
Set 4: 25
Set 5: 37
I am glad I decided to repeat week 4. Last time I was not able to make the max even on the first day. Today I went one over. I did take about a 4 or 5 min break between set 4 and 5 because set 4 was a bit rough. But I can't believe I did it.

Sit ups
Week 4 Day 1
Set 1: 32
Set 2: 38
Set 3: 32
Set 4: 32
Set 5: 70
I'm still managing the crunches without much of a problem. It's a little difficult, but doesn't seem as impossible as the push ups do.

Hmmm...Ok so I goofed. I lost track of where I was and did the wrong days today. I did week 3 day 4 for crunches instead of week 4 day 3 and week 4 day 1 for push ups but should have done week 5 day 1. But the push ups were still tough. I did complete all of the push ups with not as much additional break as I did last time, so maybe it was good that I repeated. I might stick with repeating week 4 for the push ups. Anyways, here's my results...

Push ups week 4 day 1
Set 1: 21
Set 2: 25
Set 3: 21
double break
Set 4: 21
5 min break
Set 5: 33 max (supposed to do 32)

I just looked at week 5. I should be in column 3, but I am going to continue with week 4 considering day one of week 5 requires two sets of 40. When I last tested my max was 41.

Crunches Week 3 day 3
Set 1: 33
Set 2: 42
Set 3: 30
Set 4: 30
Set 5: 60 max (needed 45)

I'm glad to see that you are healthy again and able to get started. It's best to let yourself heal before taking on physical challenges like this one. Did you see the Spark Team for the challenges? I just joined yesterday. I actually missed 2 of my challenge days this week. I'm dragging getting back on track. I might convince myself to do it tomorrow. But anyway...
Glad to see you are back. emoticon

Wow Dzzlgrl! You have made amazing progress on the pushups and crunches!
I am starting over w/ the pushups this week, after my surgery last month I had a really hard time keeping up with it, but I am ready to go again and am going to start with the pre test tonight!

I did my end of week 4 test for the push ups today. I did 40. It doesn't seem that much above my initial max, but it is progress. I also am taking into account that the last few weeks I haven't been working on it as much.

Crunches
Week 4 Day 2
Set 1.38
Set 2: 45
Set 3: 38
Set 4: 38
Set 5: 90...I don't know where that came from. My abs where feeling tight with the last two sets. I wasn't sure I would make it to 54, but surprise.

I didn't get a chance to post on Tuesday my results.

Push Ups Week 4 Day 3
Set 1: 29
Set 2: 33
Set 3: 29 I just made the 29 so I took about a 10 min break and did crunches before I went back for the last two sets.
Set 4: 29 (I surprised myself with making this.)
Set 5: I maxed out at 24 but I was supposed to do 40. Although, I was so tired I was again surprised that I even made this many.

Crunches Week 4 Day 1
Set 1: 32
Set 2: 38
Set 3: 32
Set 4: 32
Set 5: 60max
I few weeks ago I was not able to do this.

Week 3 Day 2

Set 3: 23
Set 4: 24
Set 5: 60

This was a little tougher than the last day, but still easily managed.

Push Ups:
Week 4 Day 1
Set 1: 21
Set 2: 25
Set 3: 21
little longer break
Set 4: 21
probably about 5 min break. I was struggling on the last a little.
Set 5: 33

Crunches
Week 3 Day 1
Set 1: 21
Set 2: 27
Set 3: 21
Set 4: 21
Set 5: 73 max was at least 30
This was not very challenging for me, but there is a big increase for day 2. Like I mentioned before I tried to skip ahead, but it was a little too tough. If I'm still able to get that many at the end next time, I might skip a day.

Week 3: Day 3

Set 1: 22
Set 2: 30
Set 3: 20
Set 4: 20
Set 5: 28 max

I had to take some longer breaks between the last two sets. After the 4th I think I more than doubled the rest time. But I couldn't believe I actually made it.

I was going to try to jump in on the crunch challenge to the week where my numbers fit in, but it was too much to start with. The next time I will go back to week 3 to start from there.

As tempting as it may be, it is best to wait to do them if that means your body will be healthy enough to not be injured.

I just saw the squat challenge today. I was thinking about that as well. I took the crunch test today. Once I hit 71 they were getting pretty tough and I was afraid I was going to start messing up my form.

Today was Week: 3 day 2 for the push up challenge

Set 1: 20
Set 2: 25
Set 3: 15
Set 4: 15
Set 5: 25 max

I struggled with the last set. I was amazed that I did make it to 25. My friends were teasing me yesterday. They told me now that I'm doing all of this exercising I'll get pregnant. The last two times I really got on track that's I got pregnant and kinda derailed. LOL

I was eying up the crunch challenge also, I took the pre test a few weeks ago and did 150! I may have to make it a 400 crunch challenge rather than 200, lol!!
I will probably start it once I am done with the push up challenge, did you notice there is also a squat challenge??
I have the go ahead from my Dr. to start back up with exercise tomorrow so I will be starting on week 3 tomorrow. I was expecting to have to take more time off than only 4 days! I am soooooo tempted to do those pushups tonight but I guess I am going to have to use some self control and wait

I convinced my husband to join me. He took his test a few days ago, so we didn't do our first day until today. According to the program we were supposed to both start on week 3.

Set 1--14
Set 2--18
Set 3--14
Set 4--14
Set 5--21

I took a 2 minute break before the last set, because I was pushing number 13 and 14 on the previous two sets. I can't believe I actually was able to do them all. I had my doubts.

I'm going to do the crunch challenge too. Would you like to join me?

Thanks! I know this spring I wouldn't have been able to do that many. I started to do the push up challenge with out team. It wasn't something I have ever done on my on regularly, but I thought, "why not?" I started doing about 45 push ups a day but in sets of about 10. I would take some decent breaks in between. I worked my way up to 3 sets of 20 on most days. I didn't always do them every day, but at least a few times a week.

When you put up this post, at first I wasn't going to do it. Then I thought "why not?" It will be a cool challenge to see if I can do it.

I hope all works out well for your surgery, and I'll post how my week goes. It will be fun to have some one to do it with. I'm trying to convince my husband to do it too.

31 pushups is awesome!!! I'm just starting week 3 and only up to 25! I have to take a week or two off from the pushup challenge because I am having a surgery on Tues. Hopefully I wont have to start back at week 1.
Be sure to post how week 1 goes!
(I'll be putting week 2 up next week sometime)

This is a good idea to try out. The team challenge got me started doing push up more consistently then ever before. I'm ready to get started and will take my initial test tomorrow. I did arms today, so I figured it would be best not to do the test today.
