I have to agree with you NAPPIGURL. I also have multiple textures going on all over. The front is soft and straight, the crown is just ...I don't even know how to describe it and then there is the back that is very tightly coiled=nappy. So I just let it do what it do...lol

I'm with Chynna on this one! I had no clue abt this "hair type" business until my bf asked me abt it (before he was my bf). Fortunately, I've gotten to know my hair and what styles/products do/don't work through experience and trial & error. I realized early on that I have at least 4 different textures going on, one in each quadrant, & they've changed over the years. I guess "typing" could be useful if you're a natural neophyte, but personally, I think I'm good for now.

I believe I'm a 4C. What's funny is when I asked my Aunt from D.C. who has been natural for about 20 years now what type hers is..she said, "what is a hair type"..so I explained. She said the same thing lol.."just nappy but I love it."

Long Answer: Fiercely willful and defiant...on good days..lol but I love it none-the-less.
Short Answer: E and for this reason when washing I detangle, moisturize with Almond oil and ball it up or braid until it calms itself down.

I have no idea because I still have the two textures going...but judging from the new growth, it is definitely a "4"...I have seen bloggers stress the importance of hair typing and others saying it's not that important...go figure....

Do you know what your hair type is? Apparently it is a big deal to know so you know what styles best fit your natural hair type...Personally I am still confused about mine. Mine is definitely a combination of 4a,b and if there is a c...Curious about you other Nappy Divas!
