I have been AWOL around here, and boy does the scale show it. We took a week of vacation and then I had a couple of more days off. I should have stayed on vacation because the weight went away then!

Anyway, today's weigh-in for week 4 showed a slight backtrack to 192.2. I'm pretty sure that's UP a pound from two weeks ago. Sigh. I will keep going. I can do this.

I know it's the wrong direction. Still working on turning it around. Have a new emphasis from a couple of days ago. If I keep at it, these numbers should start to reduce. Persistence, persistence, persistence. It's just what we naturally do.

Been slacking nutritionally wise this week so am glad I at least did not gain, although I did not lose. Problem is, how does one work on losing weight without being able to purchase any groceries but bare essentials? (We are in a dire financial situation right now.) Eating healthy is expensive. I don't want to give up but I don't know what else to do. If I give up, then I'll feel like a failure again. (Just thinking out loud).

Started Jan 1st at 233.4 (after gaining several pounds back from a low of 230 on Christmas morning)

1/7/13: 231.0 -- down 2.4 pounds

1/14/13: 229.6 -- down a total of 3.8 pounds

1/21/13: 228.0 -- down a total of 5.4 pounds

1/28/13: back up to 231.2 -- down a total of 2.2 pounds

Last week was obviously not my best effort!!

Pat to get to write the whole plan on your page you have to go toMy trackers and click on Start. Underneath the Welcome Pat there is in red Account/email preferences Click on that. Click on the tag "Community" then scroll down to the green tags the one that says Signature and Sticker Scroll down to message board signature and write what you want in there. I hope this helps

Remember that you are not setting your plan in concrete but that it is a work in progress. My son went from eating 2 bags (yeah, the BIG BAGS) of chips, pretzels, or whatever in a single day back in September to having the same 2 bags last a WHOLE MONTH this month, by portioning them into single packs and putting them out of easy reach. He has a hook in another room that holds all those little bags of goodies, he CAN get them IF he wants but has to THINK about it, get up and get it, and then if he wants more CAN have more but must make a SECOND trip to get them.

Thanks for the advice and support. I am going to really concentrate on this. I like the idea of packaging snacks and I plan on doing this. I'll let you know how I did this week by y weight next week. emoticon

Okay, you KNOW what you need to work on, do you have a plan in place? Some ideas are to PLAN a snack and fit it into your plan, to find OTHER things to do instead of snacking, divide and package snack items into single serving packs, put things you do NOT want to be eating so they are HARDER to get to than the ones you DO want to eat, brush your teeth as soon as you are done eating for the day, and probably dozens of others. Knowing is ONLY the first part of making the change, making a PLAN is part two and DOING it is the final test.

I don't know how to get the weeks on my page, so this week I'm 204 -- one pound down from last week, and one pound down totally.

I need to stop snacking in the evening. That's my downfall. I do fine during the day, but at night, I lose it emoticon

I am RIGHT exactly on track - total loss so far is 4 lbs since I started this challeng - the end of this week on February 1, I will get to change my ticker and SHOW a 2 instead of a 3 as my first number. I have been excited all week because for the first time instead of bouncing up and down around 300 the scal e stayed BELOW even at night ALL week long instead of bouncing above and then dropping below.

Well all things going well. I had a weekend away with a girlfriend solely following the 17 Day diet principles. I am sure I will be on track this week when I had a terrible Tuesday Wednesday. I can feel it slipping off me when I follow it properly. I feel so much better for it. However I have also added taking a tablespoon of honey, 3tspoons of cinnamon and i/4 tspoon of cayene pepper. It tastes horrific but it is supposed to be great for weight loss and arthritis cure. I will do it for the three weeks and we will see what happens.

Finishing off two completely carby days. Pizza's in the oven, and I guess it will take a big effort to getting even near weight loss for this 13 week challenge.

Thought I was invinsible for awhile when I was doing consistent 10 lbs/mo losses. Who said it had to be this much of an almost unsurmountable obstacle? All I want to do is lose my last 30 lbs, and meet my fitness goals. Glenn

I don't we igh in until Monday but I definitely feel like it is going to be a good one. I have consistently stayed below 300 even in the evenings. I have dropped below several times in the past month but it doesn't REALLY count until Friday the first - still I think it is possible that I will meet the 13 in 13 goal by the end if I keep on moving the way I am now,

I used different muscle groups yesterday and I feel the pain. So, took it easy today but still managed to burn 918 calories! Happy happy camper here! Weigh in on Tuesday but I feel like down a bit :-) Smile everyone!

UP 2.2 lbs. Just shows you what stress & water retention can do. And it went UP an hour later by over a pound!

It Sucks!
