Thanks! I'll give it a read!

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

Hmmm. . . going to try boswella. Sounds like, combined w/the tumeric, it will help.

The blood spot test is so simple! Just a finger prick. Have a call in to my endo!

Glad you're healing and having a bit of time to slow down, too. Just seems like it's been non-stop since last January. I guess it HAS!

Yes... stress will do it, won't it (I sure hope that life has settled down for you, too)? I'm so glad that you have a doctor that works WITH you!

I swear by turmeric for pain. I badly pulled something in my knee/lower leg almost two months ago. With everything going on I just ignored it until I couldn't anymore (shooting pain waking me out of sleep several times a night)... it seems I was re-injuring the leg every time I rolled over.

After I saw the doctor who prescribed HEAVY pain and anti-inflammatory meds (he said it was bursitis even though none of my symptoms were really consistent with bursitis), I gimped over to the pharmacy for a brace to stabilize my knee and keep it from twisting, and then to the natural health store for turmeric (inflammation) and boswelia (pain relief) capsules. Within hours no more pain, and since I've been able to slow down and get off my feet (Boxing day) I finally have some real healing happening. I will go see a Chiropractor after holidays to figure out what more I need to be doing to build up my strength without further injury.

The blood spot test sounds interesting/promising!

Pretty sure it's stress as it started after Mom passed away in November. I am glad I avoided NSAID's. I have actually been taking tumeric and that seems to have helped a bit. Considering that progesterone oil. Think that may be a help.

And I just read of the blood spot test for thyroid function. It seems to be far more accurate than venous blood draws. So, I have to get an appointment w/mhy endo and get that done. From what I've read, it more accurately discloses the function of your thyroid, the presence of thyroid antibodies. And this test can show problems with the thyroid even when the venous blood draw shows nothing.

HUGS and hope you and your family had a peaceful holiday.
