Happy Friday,
I don't know why I have trouble keeping warm in this room (den).

Hope every is happy with what they have accomplished during this challenge. I did not lose the weight I hoped to but I have made a new friend, drops some old habits and took a hard look at myself and my approach to resolving issues I have with my weight.

I promise not to give up and to find new and improved ways of reaching my goal.

Hi everyone,

Hope you are doing well. Been busy around here so I'm just writing will quick to wish all a nice week.

Melissa : OOAK art doll are one of a kind sculpture, plushies or dolls basically that are usually handmade and that are decorative / artistic, more than something a kid would play with. They are more like a collectible type thing.
I'm creating, trying anyway, two little characters. One is a character from a dungeon and dragon set and the other one is just a little character that I had in mind with a kid story type thing for a while now and I wanted to give her life :-)

just checked out the weigh in page some really big loses this week. and I think thais awesome.
Yvonne once you got below the 300 lb mark you are really losing the lbs.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the well wishes, I am feeling so much better, but still struggling with what I can eat that won't upset my digestive woes. Of course fatty foods don't help any, and I did have some today and yesterday. I just have to learn to treat my body with the foods that I need for gentle healing, rather than quick junk food.

im glad Denver won . my son is a big bronco fan. we lived in Colorado when he was old enough to get involved so its still his team of choice ,other then that im not into football much I watch bits and pieces lol and then of course living in ohio im a big ohio state buckeye fan

I didn't watch commercials or the game. I was surprised to hear Denver won if only because everyone seemed to think the panthers were all but a lock to win.

Juunie - I'm glad that the chiropractor really made a big difference in your pain.

Colleen - I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better now.

Annie - What are OOAK art dolls?

Anita - At least you planned for it and didn't just go crazy. I'm sure it'll be back off of you soon enough.

Anna - I'm sorry to hear about your gain. Our bodies are weird and how and when the process things isn't always as simple as some make it out to be.

Tregg - Happy Birthday! Take it a bit easy on the knee just in case.

Did my birthday ride on Saturday. 53 miles with friends. It wasn't an exceptionally hard ride, but after going to be that night, I developed pain in my left knee similar to hyper extension. The knee was sore and it felt really loose for most of the day, but now it is feeling ok. Weird.

Monday Blues

How is it that I can only loose a pound or two a week but two days not following my strict food plan I gain 5.2 lbs. I'm feeling so discouraged right now.

Happy Monday well wish I could say it is a good one.. I know I celebrated super bowl just a bit much well really I did not go over board I knew that we where going to have football food and I planned for it but my body no matter what I eat will react to it so the two slices of pizza and the 4 chicken wings and 2 chocolate chip cookies which I planned for showed up on me this morning I am not going to let it get me off my game.. today its lots of water and going mall walking with my sis because we are due for rain today so Mall it is.. and this week I am back on my plan.. of clean food.. all junk food is gone because I sent people home with it there is no temptation around

Just stopping by real quick before heading to bed.

I hope you all had a great week and I wish you an amazing one for the one to come.
I had a super nice week. Worked out 3 times as I had scheduled so that's nice and I've been working on some OOAK art doll and I actually have to stop myself because otherwise I wouldn't be doing anything else. A lot more fun than doing the dishes and the likes for sure but I'm having a little too much fun creating those little characters.

Planning on some meal prep and cleaning for tomorrow and hoping to be able to push trough some shoulder pain and hit the 4 workouts mark this week.

It has been a really weird week for me, I was sick with what was probably a sinus issue starting Wednesday, stayed home sick on Thursday, worked Friiday, while feeling better and back to dancing today which was good because we had a performance to do and we were short on people. Then I did see the Super Bowl game. The weird thing, is that I haven't been able to eat normally for several days, due to the sinus thing and reactions with IBS. Don't quite know how to get stomach back to normal, but at least it should be good for my weight. (I hope). Maybe I can avoid going back to the bad patterns if I can't deal with the food.

I hope you all have a good week and a good weigh in tomorrow.

We said we weren't gonna watch the superbowl, but were flipping channels and happened to catch it at half time, so we watched it. It was really hard to hear on our tv. We will catch the commercials later.
Been having a lot of back pain for the better part of 1yr. It comes and goes, has been some what manageable. Past 2 weeks its been awful. Had sciatica pain and didn't really realize what it was. Pain has been deep in my hip all the way down the leg, with numbness in the toes. On a whim went to a chiropractor, it was kind of a what the hey moment. Figured it prob. couldn't make it worse.
So thankful for going. I've been twice now and really see a noticeable difference. Dr. Thinks some of the disc have fused or are attempting to fuse. So may not regain the movement there:/ But the stabbing pain in my hip and overall pain in leg has decreased easily by 50-60 % Have a ton of strengthening exercises to do, but only takes about 15 min 2x day. Hard to tell if the Dr. or exercises are making more of a difference. A little angry at myself for not going in sooner. I'm actually having some time through out the day that is completely pain free. AMAZING!!!!!
They try hard to sell everyone on their services, at least where I am going. But the DR. suggested people that are pain free to have an adjustment every time you gain or lose 50 lbs. He says the muscles move as the weight on your body changes and it's good to have a "tune up" to make sure everything is where it should be to prevent some of the issues I am having.

The day after I go looking for the commercials. There is a website that rates them and I look at the top ten or so and then any that were controversial. That is about the level of my involvement with the Super Bowl. I don't even know who is playing.

I got in exercise this week for the first time in two weeks. It was hard but I did ok. I didn't exercise yesterday but I was super busy and got in a ton of steps so I kind of count it. I'm tired today and have a mild headache I just can't seem to shake. Also I gained this week. Since It's been a while since exercise I could be retaining water. Or I could be right in that I'm eating a bit more than I think I am when I exercise. not so much that I'd notice "Hey I ate a lot more than normal!" but enough more to make a difference.

Brenda - Way to go on kicking the soda habit.

Annie - It's great that you've gotten back into exercise.

Happy Supper Bowl Weekend! Sad to say the Patriots will not be playing but really looking forward to watching the game. Having people over to watch the game will need to focus on the food choices.

Did great all week till yesterday didn't plan a lunch and ate junk. Went to the grocery store to stock up on veggies and healthy choices their power was out due to the snow storm. No perishable items available. You would think they would just close the store. So off today to finish shopping.

Hi everyone,

Just stopping by real quick to wish everyone a nice week-end.
Nothing much to report here. So far it's going good with my eating and I've met my goal for the week to start working out again. This week I aim for 3 times and next week I'm hoping to get up to 4. I feel it in my shoulders still and my back even after a year and a half of having injured myself so I'm going slow but I think that so far it's OK.

Great job Brenda on the soda.
I've quit drinking it last October and the first 2 weeks I felt like I had been on some sort of drugs or something. I had fever, breakouts everywhere on my skin and migraines like crazy. Then it stopped and so far I have to say that this is the best decision I've taking for my health. And surprisingly even if I was only drinking diet sodas since I stopped drinking them the weight started to come off again.
Anyway I routing for you and your new habit emoticon

I'll try and get back this week-end but if I can't have a good one and take care.

when my daughter goes on a diet she cuts out the coke but for her as soon as she tires of the dieting its right back to coke

been a pretty day here in ohio . sun shine and not too cold

Well today was a good day. emoticon I was off work today and I got to spend time with my Husband.
Had a nice time out and I really enjoyed it. I made a vow to not drink emoticon soda during this challenge and I have stuck to rt. Yeah me emoticon I hope to continue my streak. I just discovered that my windows will let in so I can clean the outside so , I'm off to clean windows. Ya'll have a good weekend.

Well the weigh-in has me down. I know it shouldn't but the weight gain is just depressing. Birthday is over, cake is gone, trying to get back to wholesome foods and cooking and eating in a more clean lifestyle way.
Last night I made a portuguese recipe I had found online, chicken and linguica baked rice is what I'm calling it. It didn't specify the type of rice so I used brown rice, parboiling it in the chicken stock that you make with the chicken. As I was making it I realized that I could of done the first 2 steps the night before and that quinoa could also be used. And that the recipe probably came about as a way to stretch out what little meat they had.
So at dinner Mom made a comment about the rice that had me floating, she said the rice tasted just like the rice my Grandmother used to make! Now I never had my Grandmother's rice so I had no idea. This is my grandmother on my Father's side, when my parents were dating and for the first year they were married they would go to my Grandparents every Sunday for dinner. Mom also added that no matter how much my Father tried he could never get his rice the way my Grandmother made it and now how I apparently made it. Turns out my Grandmother also bought regular rice and never parboiled/Minute rice like the rice my parents always had. I'm thinking that is why my Dad could never replicate it.
I believe that how I'm now cooking is similar to how my Grandmother cooked, meaning not taking shortcuts and getting the heavily processed foods at the store but buying the whole foods, less processed needing to cook things from scratch and not expecting it to cook in five minutes or less.

I got an adult coloring book, pencils, and things like erasers, sharpeners, and shaders to go with them for Christmas. They've been a delight.

Today's walk went a tiny bit better. I'm actually surprised. Now my other ankle is starting to ache - yay. And I managed to get athlete's foot somehow. yay. I have to laugh because it just seems like it's always something. I always laugh when it seems like the universe is out to get you. Laughing is better than the alternative.

Dusty - Don't worry about it. Was the situation with your car ever sorted out?

Anita - Mall walking is a great alternative to outside if the weather is bad. One mall did have to change the hours. If something happened I didn't hear about it but they said the change was because of security. That sounds like a lot of malls around here as well with stores closing.

Anna - I got an adult coloring book for Christmas! It's so relaxing. I read doing anything with your hands (it suggest crafts of any sort) is great for keeping your mind off and your hands out of food.

Chel - Way to go!

Tregg - Drinking a lot of water helps get you up and moving. Go for a short walk before or after lunch. Use the bathroom further away or on a different floor (take the stairs), go see people you need to talk to instead of calling/messaging. And...that's all the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Oh! one said to set an alarm for every 30 minutes or hour and get up and move around for a few minutes when it goes off. ok now that's all I can think of.

Happy Wednesday everyone. Hope y'all are having a good day. I am attempting to get more walking in while at work. I just went out for 20 minutes and feel pretty good. I would like to work up to 60 minutes throughout the day. Any ideas on how to approach this goal?

Good morning and happy Wednesday all! It's a dreary wet day here, but I'm not feeling that way at all. I had some awesome non-scale motivation last night. I finally broke down and went to buy new jeans. I went down 2 sizes!!! For the heck of it I grabbed a couple shirts and discovered I'd gone down 3 shirt sizes. All since the end of November. If that wonderful feeling can't keep me on track, nothing will!

Happy Hump Day Team!

Its great to hear about everyone's continues success. I have been doing fairly well staying on track with my eating plan but the exercise has been lacking.

I'm not sure if anyone has the adult coloring books they were all the rage over the holidays they are so much fun and a great way to distress at the end of the day. I have also found that if I sit down to watch a show and color at the same time I'm not tempted to snack.

Happy Hump Day everyone well no walking out side today we are having 50mph winds and heavy rain ugh.. but I am thinking of going to this mall which is known for its mall walking and I wont be tempted to buy anything because this mall is kind of a ghost town so sad all the stores have closed and left and now the two main anchor stores are leaving too but at least I will get some fitness in..

Ashbug your right I know once I have this done I will think back why didn't I do this sooner
