Hi everyone!

I got eliminated. Water weight - I'm back down but hey - eat ham and cabbage a day after Olive Garden one has to expect a bump up.

I'm having a rough week (nothing in my life compares to some of the problems I see posted on Team 300). Work been a bit stressful. Some minor side issue at home - like failed lead inspection at my rental property. Anyone want a house in Schenectady NY? Really could use a couple thousand dollars.

Hi Everyone~
Even though I am out, I thought I'd check in still. I love being part of a community. Yes, Dusty I loaned Darrell the van back at the beginning of the month and he still has it. He had been incommunicado for a few days, but I finally went and saw him yesterday and he explained to me what is going on, so we are fine and I agreed to let him keep the van for another couple of days and then he will be back to our house to stay for good after that. He is helping a gal kick heroin right now so he's using his schooling and he's in a deal where he's supposed to be making some money. Please pray for him that he stays safe.
I gave a talk at Weight Watchers yesterday about what my journey has been like and showed a picture of me at one of my higher weights and clothes from my biggest size. People were amazed. I am going to give another talk tomorrow morning. Kellie-my leader-thanked me afterwards and texted me and told me how inspiring I was. It felt good. It's amazing to see how far I have come. I will have to post new pictures on here soon. I've gained weight this week and I'm not sure why, but my pants are still loose and I still feel good except I'm run down from so many appointments. We have another one today to take the car in and have the door adjusted from me hitting a curb. The damn thing sits so low it's hard not to hit.
I am so proud of all of you that are still in the competition. I was hoping to stay in it until the end, but my body had other ideas. I will stick around and route you all on and see who comes out the biggest loser! Hopefully I will be back down by the first of next week even though it won't count, but in my journey it counts to me. I'm doing another challenge in another group to lose 50-100 pounds in a year. I only need to lose 50 to reach my goal and I'm hoping to do it in half a year's time, but if it takes a year, I'll be patient. They say the last of it is the hardest to lose. That will give me more time to save up the money to have my plastic surgery anyway. Have a great day, everyone and I will talk to you soon!!

Bern - If muffins are what you want there is a recipe on SP here for Pumpkin Spice muffins that are very low cal and healthy. There are only 2 ingredients so I have the ingredients - A spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin puree - I'm all for simple. I haven't fixed them yet so I can't tell you how they are but they sound yummy! Maybe having them around though will turn into a bad thing...... we'll see and report back!

Two days of struggling with my brain in arguments about food in the cupboard plus intense pushes to go and acquire that which I do not need. Looking for strangers with candy, as if they would want me in their van. Muffin! Did someone say muffin!?!! I swear it's like I'm a drug addict. So today is a new day. Scales say cool your jets kitten and get ahold of yourself. So I'm saying here and now that today is the day I will walk the straight and narrow. I've got this.

Ashbug and Jeanne, I feel kind of embarrassed now about how shy I was about using the scooter at the store. When I had the broken leg, I had to use a wheelchair and I had a giant pink cast up to the knee, so you'd figure I could have just used the cart and ignored people. Even with my wheelchair, people would come up and ask what was wrong with me. Once the cast was off, I had a good time showing people my grisly (at the time, but much better now) scar and telling them about how my foot was facing the wrong way, etc. etc.

After all, if I can ride a bicycle for the world to see, you'd figure I could ride a cart at Walmart. I'm sure my buns look like puppies fighting in a sack when I ride the bike.

bluejay I use those scooters all the time if I get to walmart and they don't have any I leave and go to krogers I really couldn't shop with out one. I really never noticed if people are staring or not. just never noticed. I need it so if they want to stare fine lol
they would stare more if it sounded like a freight train coming down the isle laying over the cart

I use the mart carts and now that I switch off an on with hubby several times to get some walking in, I do see people glancing at us but I really don't care anymore! My getting out and about is more important than what people think and what I'm doing is none of their business! This is a very hard won attitude.. People stare at me because I am obese anyway so what's the difference? I had to make a conscious decision not to care though! I was stuck inside my house not going anywhere for about 3 years and I decided enough was enough a few years ago so I gritted my teeth, put up with the staring and went for it! Now I hardly spare a thought to those who stare and usually when I do it's a "what you looking at" thought! emoticon

I woke up today feeling like my shoulder was jammed in place, and I can't turn my head very far. It was either the hula hooping or going to the range...probably the range because my shoulder feels worse when I hold my hands out in front of me like I'm holding a gun.

So I can definitely sympathize with the shoulder issues.


Bern, about the scooters at the store, I tried them when my leg was broken, and people stared at me enough that I was very uncomfortable. I don't know if everyone has that experience or not.

Jeanne, Lee, I am fully sympathetic with the energy workout issues. Long gone are the days when I could go shopping at a big box store without concern for stamina. I just don't have it anymore. Now I shop with a list with 30 minutes max time allowance, otherwise I am completely wiped out for the rest of the day. I do eye those customer scooters at the entrance but have yet to use one. Figure the walking is better for this RumTum kitty.

Jill! I completely missed your move to 200ville! I'm clawing at the grass with my nails trying to stay in this new neighborhood myself, thank God it's not gated. The fitting into back of the closet clothes is a very nice reward. I was an 80's wildchild for sure.

a couple weeks ago I had to go someplace and had to park maybe a half block away. I made it in the office with huffing and puffing, but then on the way back to the car, didn't think I would make it when I got in the car I could not breath I was hyperventilating gulping in big breaths of air and just could not breath. I finnaly starting taking little breaths and calmed down till I was ok but boyit scared me to death. if I was ever forced to walk someplace I just could not do it. so I have got to do something about this weight now

Ashbug and Jilly - I know what both of you mean! I got scared straight sorta because it was getting harder and harder to get up the stairs in my house and I breathe hard just going up them once! It's getting better since I exercise now but my shoulder is injured as you all know and I could only do 25 min between chair exercise and pedaling today and I am scared I'm going to lose my mojo! But back to the being scared - I am so exhausted after a regular 45-50 minute workout that I have to nap and I want so bad to be able to get out of the 300's and be able to walk around without running out of breath! I mean I huff and I puff through my workouts and these workouts are not all that strenuous but to me they ARE if you know what I mean!? Okay enough with the bad vibes from me! We can all do this!! We love ourselves and we will triumph!

jilly, I know what you mean about getting way below 300.00 lbs seems like I get close then I mess up and go right back. seems lately I can't get below 312 and stay long but really gonna work on it this time .
I can barely walk anymore and im tired of it and also kinda scared. I just have to keep telling my self, do I want to eat this or walk. hop it keeps working.
I get up in morning and I can make it okay to bathroom and then to kitchen to get coffee going but as the day goes onb it gets harder so I get in my power chair so I will know im making progress when I can go all day with out it.
I think ive become kinda addicted to it cause I can do so much more in it
but I want out

Judi - If you are able try getting a deep tissue massage. It hurts like the devil but it works! After the massage try Arnicare for the bruising and muscle soreness!

Ashbug, those sound like some really fun projects! I usually make paper mache stuff for Halloween, and salt clay ornaments for Christmas, and I also crochet hats. This year I'm thinking of crocheting a nice, cuddly throw blanket for the couch but I haven't seen the right yarn yet.

Gianni, water weight still counts. I had to stop taking the water pills because of dizziness (although I still take one the first couple days of my period) and none of what I thought was water weight has come back. So good for you!

Go, Gianni!!! Take those water pounds! I'm on a double diuretic and have been since starting my weight loss journey back in March of 2013...so I rarely can blame water weight unless it's that time of the month. Keep up the great work!!

Ashbug - I have hovered around the 300 mark for a long time...the lowest I have gotten while doing Spark People is 282 about 9 months ago. I had started at 316 at the beginning, so I was doing really well. This 298 thing isn't quite far enough away to make me feel like I'm "out" of the 300s. I'll always be a 300s gal, even when I'm not 300! emoticon

feels like a slow Monday to me today lol restless though need to get busy ive got a osu baby quilt, a clevland browns throw, a scarolina throw, 2 Christmas throws and 3 nurse panel throws in the works plus crocheting my daughter a fall afgan the others need to be done for christmast. so if I can settle down. I need to get busy so better get off here lol

giani, 5 lbs loss is great water weight or not if it motivates you yu can turn it into real weight

lauri, girl why oh why do you keep letting guys take advantage of you if you want your van back, just flat out tell him, you want it back. and take the keys away from him

I expected to be in this until the end and instead I'm out at week 2. I think it has to do with the problems I was having with my scale last week reading lower than my actual weight. Oh well, I will still stick around and encourage everyone else. I was up 1.9 pounds today. I need to revamp my whole eating regimen. I am not eating healthy at all and I think it's throwing my body for a tailspin. I need to start snacking throughout the day and eating small meals when I can fit them in. I'm so afraid of gaining weight that I'm afraid to eat and instead I'm sending my body into starvation mode and it is holding onto the weight anyways. I've got to stop this insanity. I need to eat better so I stay healthy and God knows I can't afford to get sick around here. I need to be able to take care of my mom and this house. I also need to be here for my brother if I don't strangle him first. He is going to give me a full head of gray hair at the rate he is going. I love him to death, but he needs to get his act together and decide what it is he is going to do. He needs to come down and stay with us and settle in for a while. He has my other van right now and it's not cool. I want it back.

Well, I didn't believe my eyes today on the scale when I came up at 298.6, which is 0.2 less than last Monday. I actually weighed 3 times to make sure. I was clearly expecting a gain, since I had seen between 302 and 304 when I sneaked peeks earlier in the week. However, I did stop Lyrica a week ago, and I think that was the culprit along with a bit of PMS week/water retention.

I am now even more motivated to make this work. I am cruising to be losin' a lot more next week and none of this coming in just under the wire stuff.

I was lower on Friday than today, but I'm still down a couple pounds from the last weigh in.

I pulled a muscle or something in my back yesterday...that thing that makes one of your shoulders tense up and sit a couple inches higher than the other one. I should probably go to the doctor but they'll just prescribe muscle relaxers which make me lazy and sleepy, and then the kids don't get their school work done. Besides I think I'd have to lie about what I was doing when I hurt my back.

emoticon I'm dragging, hold it; let me check, yep I'm dragging that too today. Last time I looked at the stupid clock with my stupid eyes it was 3:01am. Yesterday I was working it like I was infected with the saint vitus dance so I could make a good showing on the scales today. It's okay.
OK, someone peel me a grape and bring me a Trenta sized coffee. emoticon Happy weigh day everybody!

Good Morning all,

Like you Rachelbug.. I thought I would be out this morning but I am NOT! Whoop Whoop. This challenge is super, motivates me to watch my sodium on Sunday that is always a challenge for me as I fix dinner for my kids. I managed to lose albeit a small loss even with stir fry yesterday.

I'm out this week. A week off of work, sitting at home and eating was NOT a good thing. Plus we had our parish dinner at church yesterday. I'm now at a new all-time high. On a positive note, seeing this new number has put my butt in gear... I've already had 2 glasses of cucumber water and got a 20 minute workout in this morning.

What a week...I see from all your posts and from my experiences that LIFE GETS IN THE WAY of losing weight. It is tough, it is frustrating, it is an absolute...and IT IS OKAY!

Every day that we make it through, whether positive or negative or a mixture of both, is another day we've LIVED.

I hope we all have a great weigh-in tomorrow. I'll let you know now that I'm up from last week due to medication effect, which I remedied earlier in the week, but it won't be back down by tomorrow.

Thanks, Nora. It seems like I am focusing on eating as little as I can to get by so I can lose as much weight as possible--not healthy. I will keep an eye on it and try to add more food to my diet. I got focused on losing the last of my weight by the end of the year and there is no reason I need to put a deadline on it. I need to do whatever is healthy for my body. When I get there I get there. I am not counting calories or anything and I will eat sweets and I did eat a McDonalds cheeseburger last night so I don't think I'm in real trouble yet, but I think it's something that I definitely need to keep an eye on. I know I'm not getting enough vitamins because my hair is starting to fall out again. Thank goodness it is short this time. When it was long it got so thin and straggly. My other problem the last few days is having no energy. It could be that I worked my tail off earlier this week and my body is just saying it is time to rest. I have never been this busy in years. I've got another week coming up like that. I've got to get in my room and start clearing it out so I can sleep in there again. I can't sleep with my mom forever. Besides, I miss my bed. I'm going to have to talk myself into doing this today. All I want to do is sleep. I also hurt. I've cut back on the pain medication that I'm taking and I really feel it. It's hell getting older!

Paul - They have a lot of great articles here on SP on how to deal with parties and eating out while watching your nutrition! Just put what you're interested in in the search box and it should find you lots of helpful hints!

Lauri, actually it's quite common for binge eaters to struggle with anorexia and anorexics to struggle with binge eating. Both involve disordered thinking about food and body image.

I know at one point after I took a binge eating class that I struggled for several weeks with not wanting to eat over 1,000 calories. I would actually get the shakes with just the thought of the possibility of eating *gasp* 1,050 calories - 850 would be ideal.

I'm "better" now and back to my old self - struggling with overeating and binge eating.

Kim, I just bought the cutest purse...it's red leather. I've never had a red purse before, all my others are black or brown or straw.

Lauri, I know there are different kinds of incontinence so it might not help, but exercise that strengthens your pelvic floor can help with incontinence. I had some trouble a couple of years ago but once I started bicycling, it got much better.

I have had a great morning...made it to the pool for the water aerobics class, then a sit in the steam room to relax the muscles I worked. Now I am home and my body is too relaxed and I want to take a nap. But I have lots to do today so, I will just keep moving and won't think about that nap.
