Good morning! Started off my day with 40 min on the bowflex!Feeling strong! emoticon

Going to get some weightlifting in too today. After the parade.

Ill endulge a bit at dinner but just a fraction of what I did last year. Not as much room! LOL!

Did really good on staying in and under calories all week. A little food adventuring today isnt going to change my habits or my long term goals to eat healthy.

just my two cents/advice

If you are the chef and all the food is at your house. Get some cheap containers and start packing it up for the visitors. Let them take most of your temptation away....

I have some containers ready to go. It will happen. I won't ask I will start shoveling food into their very own leftovers. I will even chase them to the car. I might even sneak over to their house and leave on the door. Don't fight it people..It is going home with you! Muwuwhaha

(that was supposed to be a sinister laugh but I can't spell it)

Great Advice Dusty!!

I have my calories and food counted. I also cut up lots of fresh veggies for snacking if I am tempted.

I have a plan and will stick to it. I also tracked the largest serving of food that I could have but I plan on getting myself a much smaller serving. This will help keep me from going over what I tracked.

Come on team! Let's be the team that maintains or looses weight this week!!

To all my fellow Reindeers -

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope your day will be an enjoyable one. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Enjoy your food - but remember to eat in moderation.

I need to also apologize for not being visible on the team thread. Please forgive me. I will do better this coming week.

Larry - I like your idea of the motivational/encouragement note! I will get some smiley faces yet this week!

I've already started preparing some of the dishes for tomorrow. Gettin' my nephew and sister involved. After dinner tonight, we'll work on cutting up the pumpkin and cooking it down so that my daughter can make the pumpkin pie after she gets here (I used to do it but she's decided that making the pie is her job now!). Tomorrow I'll get up and start on the homemade cornmeal crescent rolls (my nephew has already said he'll be helping me). I'm looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

I've got my scale ready so that I can weigh everything. I've gained the last two weeks and I REFUSE to gain another week!!! I will be getting some exercise in this weekend too.

Well, my sister has dinner ready so I guess I'd better get going. I'll be back later!!

Kathy a vacation sounds nice. You could also do sparkpeople videos on your laptop.

Nora, sounds like a nice dinner!

Larry, I have been a little late for things lately. I guess I get a little carried away once I start exercising.

I hope everyone is doing well. I am doing some food prep today for tomorrow's meal. I need to be careful I do not taste everything too much. I will count those bites somehow too.

We can do this team!!!

Tonight we'll be picking up our pre-cooked Thanksgiving dinner from the grocery store. We'll be getting turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, rolls and pumpkin pie. My husband will eat the pie as I don't like pumpkin.

Howdy Reindeer (welcome to the team Nora)! Been MIA the last couple days! I didn't have internet access so I couldn't make it on! Congrats to all that lost weight and maintained! Love and support to all that gained. We are all here for you! So yesterday and today are my rest days so I will be back at the gym tomorrow. I still did some walking and stuff the last 2 days so I stayed as active as possible. Next week I am going on vacation and have to find an anytime fitness close by so I can get my workouts in! Thankfully Anytime fitness lets you us any of their gyms around the world. Now I just have to find one! If not I will do some stairs and a lot of walking to keep the weight off. I will be taking my laptop so I can stay connected. YAY! Well Reindeer I am about to go to bed. Good night all and talk to you all again soon!

Nora so sorry you were in the hospital. I hope you are healing well!!

Rayne, I also put broth in the turkey pan. I used to coat the bird in some butter but will be skipping that this year.

I picked my fresh herbs before they died off and froze them. I plan to grind them up and spread on the turkey.

I have been feeling stuffy for a few days. This morning I woke with a bad sore throat. As long as I take tylenol I am ok. I am tired but was able to work out. (I took it a little easy) I am not very hungry though. I am just really thirsty.

So I might be under calories again today. I know that can be a bad thing too.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Let's all do a great job this week so the one day (Thanksgiving) does not matter so much for us.

Karen

It turns out our Thanksgiving family get-together is now also going to be a good old fashioned chicken pox party! 2 of the younger grandchildren came down with it today. So it is going to make for an interesting family portrait. I'm not sure how many polka-dotted kids we will have by then,

Hey team just stopping in to say hi.. everyone seems reallly upbeat and working hard woohoo
Congrats Ray on the weight loss way to go..
I did not lose this week and I knew that was going to happen.. I mean food was the same as always but for some reason after a run or a work out my body does not release weight and rightfuly so because the muscles are needing to recover. and holding onto water.but I am going to WI in on friday again but that might be a bust because of Thursday so I will just wait till Monday again..

Well I hope everyone has a great T-Day keep up the great work team..
woohoo

Hi Reindeer,

I am getting a jump on Turkey day and having turkey dinner tonight. Since I am leaving on Friday I figure this way I will at least get a few turkey sandwiches before I go and not so much turkey will go to waste. This gives us 3 days to enjoy Thanksgiving food. I know I am cheating by starting early, but.......
I remember Having Thanksgiving when my family (Grandparents) were alive She used to coat the turkey in Crisco and then season and bake... and the gravy was made from the drippings - Turkey fat and crisco..... Now days I put water and chicken broth in the turkey pan, season the turkey and bake that way. It keeps the turkey moist and since the fat floats on the top I get flavorful water pretty much to make the gravy out of. Lol.. It works for me. I really like turkey sandwiches better than turkey dinner, a little cranberry sauce and lots of lettuce and it makes a pretty healthy and tasty sandwich.

For anyone looking for an easy diet - Get your tongue pierced.... I did a week ago and eating is a challenge. I am using a baby fork and baby spoon to eat. Its hard to chew because you tend to move your tongue around a lot more than I ever noticed and when you do, you bite on the ball and it is surgical steel and can crack your teeth so you have to chew really slow , careful small bites - Which is good since it takes your stomach a while to feel full - You eat less. I am hoping when I get to get a shorter bar (since the swelling has to go down) that chewing will be easier... Lol

Have a wonderful holiday Reindeer !!!!!

Hi, folks. I'm joining in on the Running Reindeers.

This week will be challenging as I need to heal and get my strength back after a 5 day hospital visit for my fourth skin infection. Blech. Well, at least I made it 11 months this time. I was able to work with a physical therapist and got some walking and bed exercises in daily and I was given an exercise band to take home. I haven't felt up to doing much today but I plan on doing some exercise tomorrow. One good thing, I don't have much of an appetite.

This also means that I won't be able to do my pool exercises until I finish my antibiotics, per the doctor's orders. Double blech!

Hey Reindeer Herd! I am finally going back and doing responses. But before I get to that I have a possible job prospect that would result in walking the equivilent of 10 or more miles a day. I really need to get a good pedometer so I can track that! ::knock on wood:: I keep trying to count my chickens before they're hatched. Anyways, on we go!

Those under the weather - What I think helped me get better faster was doing apple cider vinegar in the mornings. (It might have also helped with the weight loss.) I'm sure it would have been better doing it twice a day but I could only stand doing it once, lol. It is a little easier to take now but I dilute it bunches. What I do is 1 oz of ACV with 1.5 Tbsp Raw honey in 12 oz of hot water. An orange juice chaser is helpful in the beginning.

WishWisper - Sorry to hear about your losses. I hope it is getting a little easier for you. ::hugs::

CharleneMartel - That bottle really was a great find. I myself try to set a minimum of two one liter bottles of water a day. I hate to admit it but I am a water snob. I hate the taste of tap water.

MomOfBoys - Congrats on staying within calorie range! It is kinda difficult to find the happy medium. Things are so changeable in my house that it is hard to plan ahead most of the time. Been doing better here recently but it is still kinda rough.

Karen - Those two "ladies" in the Clubhouse need an attitude adjustment. It is times like those that it helps to believe in Karma. ::hugs:: ....Also a big high five for your longest run yet! That is awesome!

Kara_Ann - Congrats on the 70 lb loss!! That is amazing! It is when you focus on being healthy that things really get moving on the scale. ::big high five::

TortillaFlats - ::big hugs:: I am so sorry for your loss. Just keep in mind that you need to take care of yourself.

TravlnWoman - Excellent Challenge! I will have to consider that and plan accordingly.

Turkey Day - I am working 3 pm til 11ish Thursday as well as the day after. It will be difficult to get together with any of the Family or Extended Family for the holiday. I guess it is a good thing. My husband will bring back a plate or two. (we usually hop from party to party visiting and nibbling)

I was planning on doing water aerobics but my campus activity center is closed for the holiday week emoticon so that means time for Plan B. I'm going to put in Bob Harper's DVD and do that today.

I meet with a trainer at Fit Body Boot Camp on Dec. 1 to utilize my one month of unlimited boot camp classes Groupon I purchased. I need something to kick my butt.

DH is running daily in an effort to lose 25 lbs. to talk to Air Force and Navy recruiters. I am proud of him for wanting to do this but it makes me scared as well, of course.

One encouraging e-mail sent

I am planning to eat a sensible portion and to stay in my calories on Thanksgiving...but since it is all high-carb and low-freggie, I am still planning to walk a total of 13.1 miles Thurs-Sun (the distance of a half marathon!) to make SURE I have a loss this week

Kimberly I accept that challenge!

I do plan to indulge some. However I have accounted for all the food I plan to eat on Thanksgiving in my tracker already. It was a lot of calories but I will eat lower calorie foods for the rest of the day. I also will go running/walking before we eat and possibly a walk after.

My goal is to maintain or lose this week. If I can do it on thanksgiving then I can do it anytime!

I am cooking most of the foods so I am using healthier ingredients. I cannot control what SIL brings but I can skip eating it.

I am sending some emails right now. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good morning my Reindeer friends!

Tracy please feel free to come over and straighten up my place when you are done with yours
emoticon

Today is a wonderful day! I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and all the family and love that surrounds it. I've given myself permission to taste everything as long as I track it.

Our Cage Fitness class is having an early morning session on Thanksgiving so we all get to eat one piece of pie (we easily burn at least 400 calories per session). I think this is an excellent way to start the holiday.

HERE IS MY CHALLENGE TO ALL OF YOU:
Don't make excuses for over eating. Be honest with yourselves. Plan ahead and work it off before and after. Today state if you plan to indulge or not and if yes, list one thing you are going to do to make up for over eating.

Kimberly

Hi everyone, I ended the week terrible. My sister did Sat night and Sunday was a non stop eat day for me. I opened trail mix and just kept eating. I am back on track today though.

Larry, I don't understand the new challenge this week. If I give 3 words of encouragement on 1 day do I put 1 emoticon or 3 emoticon emoticon emoticon ?
Also on th next day do I just put the new ones or add them together?

I will keep up my exercise

Hi Reindeer! I joined late .. nice to see some familiar faces, and nice to meet new ones too.

I did have a 3 lb loss this week emoticon woohoo

Congrats to those who lost or maintained... hugs to those who gained.. you can do it! Keep doing what you're doing and that scale will move.

I am planning on walking a half marathon over thanksgiving weekend, so I am looking forward to losing more next week despite that turkey.

Have a good week guys

Another crazy weigh-in...no gain or loss though. Battling with bloating, normal but annoying. Still working hard and eating right. Can't give up! Let's see what happens next week. Congrats to all the losers and maintainers this week! emoticon

Oh my goodness! I didn't realize I had missed the last few days! All my busyness is because we're getting ready to open a new hospital and there's tons of work involved in making sure we've got all the products we need and training and meetings and more meetings. The new place opens in 2 weeks so maybe things will slow down????? I can only hope!!!

I actually had a coworker ask me today if I was still losing weight. Evidently, something is showing! I think it might just be shifting around though because the scale definitely isn't moving very much! But, that's okay. I don't want it to move so fast that I end up putting it all back on.

Well, fellow Reindeer, I must run - no, not literally! I'd all on my face! Need to get back to work.....

Hope everyone gets over their illnesses real soon!! Take care of yourselves and I'll be back later!

Larry do we post one smile each time or add them up and put them on all our posts?

If we tally them each time and post I have 2.
emoticon emoticon

PRETTYINPUNK_04 I know you can do it!!

Wendi, I think a loss is good! Good work!

Rayne, how brave to move to another state! I wish you the best of luck!!

Kara, WAY TO GO 70 pounds is awesome!! Just think you will have lost even more at end of this challenge.

I am doing some heavy cleaning today. I cleaned out our pantry and my closet (some). It is nice to get rid of clothes because they are too big!!

Good Morning Reindeer...

Looks like there was a lot of lbs lost this week... emoticon

For those who didn't don't get discouraged and just hop right back on and keep going...

I know easier said then done right...i know the feeling of getting on the scale and seeing a gain or even no loss at all...But we can't dwell and we have to keep moving forward...

We can do it!!

I am happy today because I have lost my 70th lb...

When I started this journey at the beginning of this yr I never thought I would lose 70 lbs.. I mean come on I've been doing SP since 06...the first time around I lost 40lbs then gained it back plus some more...But at the beginning of this yr it was different for me..I didn't put a actual number that I wanted to get to or even lose..I just said to myself I wanted to get healthy...and I am getting there...

So here's to seeing the healthy Reindeers in the new yr emoticon !

Good Morning Reindeeer,

Its a good day - I lost 2.2 woo hoo. I didnt work as much as I wanted this week, but I guess that the eating right this week worked out because I lost... I also noticed that during my last challenge I forgot to change my ticker each week. what a dummy... Lol

Its a busy week for me. I am moving to Nevada hopefully this weekend if the weather cooperates. I have a bunch of tests for the State of Nevada so I am taking my travel trailer up there and am going to live in it for a few months while I take the tests and hopefully get a job. It will save me a bunch of money on driving (gas) and hotels and eating out. I am sorta nervous about it, but it is the best choice for right now. I have been without a job for over 1 1/2 years and it seems that California just doesn't have so I am looking in Nevada for one. It will be hard not seeing my kids everyday, but thank goodness there are cell phones.
The RV park claims to have an exercise room which will be good since I cant bring my Wii.

Anyway, enough blah blah blah... Hope everyone has a Happy Turkey Day and a big CONGRATULATIONS to all the losers this week !!!!

I had a pretty good week but not a very good weekend! It showed on the scale. I still managed to lose a little. Will do better this week. I am not letting Thanksgiving win!

Get job all you losers! You are inspiring!

Looks like I gained .8 lb=( Its all due to my sick obsession with deserts. One day I dont think about them but then the next day I'll binge. I'm jealous of everyone who lost weight this week! You guys are doing awesome=D This week I want to lose 2.6 lbs. Wish me luck!

I did get a walk in Saturday night. Wasn't 2 miles like I hoped, but one. I'm not beating myself up though. I got up and did it. That's all the matters. Got in 2 miles yesterday. Off to a new week of awesome!!!!

This weigh-in is going to go very badly tomorrow because of not being able to exercise as much as I would like but I know it will be better the next week. Can't let one setback determine the journey.

Have a great rest of the night reindeer!

Hi all Reindeer!
Didn't have the best week eating this week as I was working at my Mom's house helping her she thinks she needs to feed me more that I am used to even though she is very supportive in my weight loss. Also having a little foot pain and I have been babying it so I can run a Turkey Day 5K on Thursday. I am going to try to run 1-2 miles tomorrow or Tuesday to see if I can run on Thursday or not.

Anita - sure hope your 5K went well today!

Char - sorry that the Holidays are hard for you. I dread Labor Day as my Dad passed on Labor Day Weekend 10 years ago.

See everyone again tomorrow at WI.
