obesity and over weight are in most cases associated with riflux esophagitis.this is nothing but the ulcers created in the lower end of esophagus due to riflux of acid mixed food from the stomach.the more you eat the more you aggravate it. and fats like coconut oil will worsen it for it increases the acid and enzymes produced in your git. also with a flaccid abdomen you tend you have diaphramatic hernia ie herniation of part of the stomach into your chest region through the opening in your diaphram.pls ask your doctor to prescribe a proton pump inhibitor drug which should be taken on empty stomach along with the drug domperidone.this supresses the acid secretion in your stomach and increases your gastric emptying protecting your esophagus. you should eat breakfast only half an hour after intake of these drugs.also drink a riflux coating antacid gel immediately after every meal.do this for fifteen days and after that whenever you have an episode.be cautious in doing abdominal exercises as these aggravate the problem too.drink cold milk when you go to bed at night and pomegranate juice with milk heals like magic.a midnight dose of the proton pump inhibitor drug will heal you in two days. once healed various precautions have to be taken everyday to prevent recurrences.doc.

I also get that same feeling sometimes, even after I eat a meal. It's good to know I'm not the only one.

I have had that problem...turns out I have an ulcer and that is what causes that "hunger"feeling...

Hello! I can so relate. Is it hunger or is the discomfort signify that my stomach just needs something in it? Sometimes hard to differentiate.

But some good news! I used to take a Zegerid daily supplemented with Tagamet. 3 months ago I started taking coconut oil...I have only had to take the Zegerid 3x!! I take a heaping teaspoon in the a.m. and another before bed. It is very pleasant. I actually like the taste and it is a very healthy food (vs medication). Please look into it. I was skeptical, but now I wouldn't be without it. I can get a l6oz jar of organic virgin coconut oil (OVCO) for under $10 instead of the $149 for Zegerid.

I can understand that statement, its seems crazy but I feel like a machine when it comes to eating. I have stopped taking my medicine(the purple pill) to try an experiment. I found without my meds I do okay but I am force to watch my food intake. I am doing better and not so hungry like before. I log my intake in so I can keep myself in check calorie and food item. I do not eat meat all the time and limited my dairies to the less than ever. This has helped me. I find when I do want to snack I turn to sunflower seeds kernel(no salt) and pumpkin seed kernel (no salt) as a filling which works. I do drink water, tea, and crystal light. Its a struggle everyday but I try even if I fall off the wagon, I get right back on it. I hope this helps, my acid reflux is still very new to me so I am learning about myself and my needs through diet.

I understand the feeling hungry feeling! The doctor put me on a new menu plan that makes feel deprived sometimes, ugh! I drink black tea and alot of water before I eat and have veggies cut up to munch on. Also I walk or try to preoccupy myself with hobbies I enjoy instead of eating what I can not have anymore!

I got some help with that issue last week from my Kinesiologist. He figured out that I am allergic to gluten and potatoes. AAHHH!!! I was really upset at the thought of never eating oats, barley, wheat, rye, spelt and potatoes again but dug in and did it. I have NOT HAD Acid Reflux in 4 days!! I lost ALL my cravings. I can breathe!! No bloating. Ask your doc about that. I think the problem is more common than we think. And it's a good time to be gluten free with all the great products on the market for gluten free diets. Good luck all! emoticon

I find that if I eat Kashi products, I am more satisfied and for a longe period. Generally, I will have 50 gms Kashi Go Lean, 1/2 cup Activia and 1/4 cup of dried blueberries for breakfast. I mix it all together and it holds me for a good 4-5 hours. Its lowfat and a great way to start the day with fruit. In addition, I have a glass of orange juice and a decaf coffee. Sharon

I also have a very hard time not being hungry. Especially if I drink alcohol. If I can eat something at the first sign of being hungry, I make good food choices. If I wait I will make bad choices and usually overeat. But, along with all of you, I am trying to learn new habits. And water is the biggest help with hunger for me too!

Hi Jill, I've had this happen before. I would eat and within a few minutes still have hunger pains. It happened for a couple weeks at a time and I've experienced it twice. I don't know what caused it. My theory was that my stomach was stretching? It happened when my weight gain happened, after I stopped smoking. Its been a long time now since it happened last, but I did start eating several small meals as suggested to you by a couple other people. That did help. Hopefully by now you aren't suffering with it anymore. It's maddening, isn't it? I hope you're feeling better.

I am in the same boat. I have been doing so well and this week, I have steadily gone way over in calories. Today was OFF the charts and I am afraid I can't stop...I know it is emotional...my finances are eating at me and the possibility of losing my home...I am doing what I can to avoid this, but things don't look great I'm afraid...so I think my eating is definitely related. Knowing this though hasn't helped stop it...I don't need the scale to know I have gained...my clothes are tighter already...any advice for all of us is gladly welcome.

Just drink, drink, drink - sometimes I get up and move around a bit too, nothing too jarring when my stomach is upset, just moving around some. I am figuring out that I have confused AR symptoms with being hungry before, and last night was no exception it was hard to stay out of the kitchen, but I HAD to. Hang in there!

Just keep swimming! -Dori

To SOLIS54 In addition to keeping your blood sugar up with the 5-6 short meals a day, the added advantage is that psychologically you know you will eat in a short time. Read your body when you are hungry and don't confuse it with needing water, drink water first then if you are still hungry, eat a small snack, ryvitta with sardines and some greens etc, the protein and small amount of carbs will keep you blood sugar up.

I can totally relate. Sometimes I will have just ate something and within an hour I'm hungry again. I read in Prevention magazine that eating 4 400 calorie meals a day helps you to lose weight easier. I have tried to do that and I have found that I am not getting hungry between meals like I used to. A lot of it depends on what you eat as well. I know that when I eat Chinese food within a little while I'm hungry again. I always try to eat things that I know will fill me up until time to eat my next meal.

Hey!!! To all the hungry people... I started out that way too and it feels like torture that you should have to wait. I found that contiually thinking that its worth it and drinking AAAAAA lot of water helps. Frist thing in the morning before you have breakfast drink 8-10oz of water, then drink through your meal and after if you still feel hungry. This should trick your stomach into thinking that its full. Hope this helps emoticon

Try eating 5 - 6 smaller meals during the day. Check your spice intake and make sure not to wear tight clothing around your waist. Eating the smaller healthier meals during the day will ensure that your blood sugar is at good levels. Have to fuel your body properly. I've finally come to this realization and I'm finding it very successful.

Go out some where or talk on the phone to side track your mind. At night I keep filling my water bottle and chew a really good flavoured gum. I'll go walk home depot, or wherever just to pass tome til bedtime or the next meal. I also started ironing, I drink water and work along forgetting the hunger. It is definitely easier when I'm at work and breaks are controlled. Good Luck!!

Ladies, make sure you are eating a good amount of protein and carbs for breakfast. That will last longer and you won't feel that hunger.

Jill, emoticon I can relate! Liquids usually help me feel more satisfied (FULL!, anyway) One of the reasons I drink tea/coffee in the morning is to help me feel more satisfied. Also, I tell myself "just 1 more hour till lunch". I can do this! I've started eating a green salad before lunch to "fill up" with minimal calories. Good Luck! Rose emoticon

I have eaten about 400 calories this morning and I'm on Protonix, but my stomach is yelling "feed me". I'm pretty sure I'm not really hungry, and that my stomach is upset. So, I took 500 mg of calcium carbonate (TUMS) and that didn't really help. I tried popcorn and I'm still hungry. Any ideas? Looking for advice.

Thanks,
Jill emoticon
