I blew it yesterday. My husband and I went away and I didn't journal. I also had pop at a movie. I'm back on board today, though, and for the rest of the challenge!

Last night I went to a restaurant to listen to a band with my daughter and grandkids and discovered I still craved pop. I drank some last night. I was on my last day. I felt horrible. My daughter said not to look at it like a failure but to think of the past nine days of success. How'd she get so smart.

I am a day away from meeting my goals. I've done it. I feel I can keep it up. I don't crave pop anymore. I crave water; amazing how the body works. I'm going to get my manicure tomorrow. I also decided to get a pedicure. It is sandle season here in Arkansas.

Welcome THENEWHIT. I've been with sparks for about a year but just recently became active. I have to say it has changed my life. I get more and more excited each day. I love getting on my computer to see whats going on and to report my progress. I wish you the same luck i've had. If you can do it for 10 days then try it for a month. If you mess up, don't worry, just keep on trucking. Sparks will be there for you.

Hi there... I've been in the background of this team but would like to join your upcoming challenge. Do you track this for the team, then?

1. Exercise or stretch 20 minutes a day for 4 times a week (I can't go back to inactivity!).

3. Eat fruits/veggies everyday (I will try to have 1 fruit a day; my vit C is so low).

4. No sodas for 10 days. (my stomach bloats anyways-I don't know why I think it will ease my tummy)

8. Treat yourself for a job well done (I rarely do this-this is would be a rewarding challenge!).

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far Iíve finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already. - Dave Barry

That challenge did go fast and I was able to easily accomplish all of the goals every day. I am eating better and have gotten to the point I can almost calculate calories, carbs, fats, proteins, etc. in my head. Exercising is actually fun and a way to relax.

I have done all every day, except this morning, I had 1/2 can of diet pepsi. I threw the rest out, but I just really needed it. No plans to have any more today though. The sodiom count is high ( I have been counting sodium for another team) so I am going to really cut back on them for good!

As an added note, I took over another team that was dying, trying to revitaize, if any of you work for or volunteer for United Way I encourage you to join me on that team as well as all the great fun on this one.

still hanging on, the soda is screaming my name, but at the same time I watched show on tv about the dangers of soda. I know, I know, but God I want one and with giving so much else up! Anyway, I can make it the 10 days but not much longer, at least the soda anyway, but this may encourage me to give it up again for a few days at a time.

1. Exercise or stretch 20 minutes a day for 4 times a week.

2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.

3. Eat fruits/veggies everyday (you know which ones you need to work on).

4. No sodas for 10 days.

These are my goals, I have kept each one so far, the soda was especially hard this weekend, spent the weekend at my Mom's and she had stocked the fridge with diet pepsi for me, lol. Anyway, made it through! Home again and just a few days left, got a cold one waitng for the morning after the challenge ends lol.

Thanks, I had some kiwi juice, made it another day. I love water so I don't need to flavor it. I think it is the carbination and the caffine I crave. But is mostly just bad in the morning, and I don't drink coffee, so guess I stick with juice.

Thanks for all your encouraging words, another day down!

Thanks, Andygo, for the encouragement. I went to the doctor and discovered that in 4 weeks I had lost 4 pounds and I am down to 169 which was a goal for me. Unfortunately, in the past every time I get to my 160s I start gaining weight again instead of maintaining and losing. This time I was so excited over my unexpected weight loss that to maintain my hold on the 160s I went out racked up 207 minutes of exercises by the end of the day. I could have never done that had I not been averaging between 75 and 120 minutes a day of exercising.

My day is just starting so I have marked only days 1-3 on my tallying post below and will X every day that I accomplish the goals I chose.

Need continued support to keep the 160s here. Thanks again for your encouragement.

As long as this beautiful weather keeps up I think I might be able to maintain this with everyone's support.

Hi Toni,
I am up to the challenge.
Especially no sodas for 10 days. I am such a Coke drinker...But I promise me. I'll just replace the Coke with H20. and the weather here in San Jose, CAL has been in the 80's & above so drinking is no problem...Keep up the good work everyone, WE CAN, WE WILL!

Hi, Cinderrelic! With these challenges, we just come back here and post as to whether of not we made a day's challenges. If you can't post on one day, post the next day that you made (or didn't make) all your goals for those days.

Great idea. I'm new, so I hope this is right, but here are the four I chose...

2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.

4. No sodas for 10 days.

7. Record your food and drinks every day.

8. Treat yourself for a job well done (no food please). Get a new hairdo, a manicure, go to movies with a friend. Take a walk on the beach or in the park with a friend. Hit the garage sales in your area. Buy your favorite jeans in the next size down. You'll be there before you know it. BUT, whatever you chose to do, have fun doing it. It's your treat!

I just joined and have not been drinking water. I'm trying to do this, so I thought it was perfect. Also, I was diagnosed with acid reflux and told not to drink sodas but I have been having a really hard time with this. I was told to drink more water then too, and I haven't. Also since I just started, I need to track everything I eat and drink because I thought I was eating right before and not losing weight, so this will show me where I'm going wrong. And the last one... well, I'm a SAHM with a two-year-old at home and my daughter gets out of school for the summer this week plus I go to college one night a week... I deserve a reward, lol.

Can any of these be tracked directly from our other goals page, like some of the other teams do? It certainly saves me a lot of time looking for lost threads so I can post my results? I think the ones you can track on other goals are the ones you join
under team goals at the bottom of the team page.

Pick at least 4 things for you 10 day challenge. Only choose those which you are able to do. Not everyone is at the same health/physical level. So do not worry if you cannot do one of the things.

REMEMBER THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING ON THE LIST.

1. Exercise or stretch 20 minutes a day for 4 times a week.

2. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day.

3. Eat fruits/veggies everyday (you know which ones you need to work on).

4. No sodas for 10 days.

5. Post to someone else's SP page or blog. Give them a pat on the back or give them a boost up. Making someone else feel better about themselves will make you feel good too.

6. Have decaf or caffeine-free drinks only for 10 days.
