Wrapping it up for 2018:

I can add 1.59 miles walked on 12/30, and 2 treadmill miles from New Year's eve, bringing our 2018 team total to:

Almost the end of the year... I'll close out this thread and start a new one on New Year's Day.

Meantime, since the last posting, I can add 14.21, spread across the usual - runkeeper tracked walks, two workouts with the coach, and I'm estimating about 4 miles on the treadmill, spread across several days.

New team total is: 3064.29

Good job for 2018, Team! If anybody has last minute adds, I'll total them up before changing to a 2019 challenge thread! emoticon emoticon

Even with the back issues, I went out to do "gentle" walks this week. No strength training, and no running.

But per Runkeeper: 11.42 miles from last Sunday through yesterday.

This brings our team total to: 3050.08 for 2018!

This week's contributions, considering the "bad back" kicked in on Friday:

Walking, per runkeeper: 6.83 miles

Treadmill miles: 2

Workouts with the coach credit: 6 miles

So for the week, that makes 14.83 miles, and our NEW team total is now:

3038.66 miles, we've done well, MM&P team... and there are only a couple of weeks left in the year! emoticon

Last added miles on 11/30/2018, when we crossed the 3000 mark to 3008.72.

Let's see, since then I've done:
5 treadmill miles (yes, going to start counting these, since the footing outside is not so great)

4.11 miles walked outside, per Runkeeper.

Two workouts with the coach, which I count at 3 miles apiece, for six miles total.

Altogether that makes 15.11 miles, and our NEW team total is:

3023.83

Haven't seen any responses about a 2019 challenge... do we want to do something OTHER than a thread here? emoticon Or perhaps we're not quite ready to think about it with the Holidays looming?

Thanks, Connie... incentive to take care of ourselves *should* be natural, shouldn't it? But for many of us it is not so automatic, especially we women who put families ahead of ourselves.

Here's to a good loving December, and a fresh start for 2019. I'll be closing this thread up and starting a 2019 thread...

Team: is this the kind of challenge we want for 2019, or do we want something different? Fresh ideas always welcome!

Oh, dear... haven't updated since Veteran's Day. Life's been busy.

Let's see, we left off with 2986.23 team miles.

Since November 11th, Runkeeper claims I have walked only 3.84 miles.

There have been 4 sessions with the coach for strength training, which I've been counting as 3 miles apiece, giving us another 12 miles worth.

Then there is Garmin's tracking of a virtual 5K at 3.52 miles and a Turkey Trot at 3.13 miles.

Altogether my miles to add since November 11th are only 22.49 miles. Yeah, I've been slacking! I know there have been some treadmill miles that I didn't write down, so haven't added them.

New Team Total though, is over that 3,000 mile marker at 3008.72 miles.

Anybody care to venture a guess to what we as a team will add before the end of the year? No bets here... we've got another storm bearing down on us for the weekend.

Thoughts and prayers for those in Alaska, especially our service men and women stationed up there.

Sunday morning, time to update: we were up to 2968.95 last Sunday!

Adding from Sunday after posting last week - 2.17 mile walk.
Monday: 2.6 mile walk.
Tuesday: walked to and from my polling place. 1.19 miles total. Plus 3 miles for coach workout.
Wednesday: trapped in the house waiting on contractor calls. Treadmill 1.25 miles
Thursday: 3 miles for coach workout.
Friday: I'll give myself a mile for treadmill. Got my steps in, topping it off at the concert venue, but didn't track mileage.
Saturday: 1.75 on the treadmill, 1.32 outside.

So that adds to a 17.28 mile credit to add for the team.

New team total: 2986.23

Getting ever closer to that 3000 mile marker! Only 14 miles to go... and I'm committed to a virtual 5K today with my sister, to support the Jewish Community Center in Pittsburgh. So many awful things in the news, getting out and getting active helps. Feeling I'm contributing to help victims helps.

Sunday update. Last week we had 2949.81 miles.

This week, Runkeeper reports I walked (and tracked) 11.14 miles.

I had my two workout sessions with the coach, which I give myself 3 miles apiece for. Add elliptical and rowing machine sessions for another 2 miles.

No recorded runs.

NEW team total: 2968.95

Getting VERY close to that 3000 mile marker! Only a little over 31 miles to go, team! emoticon

i can’t add miles yet life has been a whirlwind but i’m holding my own on being at least active. Working more hours then usual and working on my choices of eating healthy.
My leg pain has been up and down but walking as much as possible (parking car further then i have to, etc.) All in all no complaints;)
Going to spend the weekend with my husband’s flight crew (yes, Navy) and spouses. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet this group and am looking forward. My husband Mike’s eyes gleam when he speaks of these guys. Should be a great time!
I will try and contribute more miles on the next few weeks.

I normally update on Sunday with my miles for the week, but I haven't done so since the 14th.

At that time, the team total ended up as 2918.02

Since then, Runkeeper reports I have recorded 12.39 miles walked.

I had not yet recorded the 15K = 9.4 miles run, so that comes in.

Strength training with the coach, three times, @ 3 miles credit apiece: 9 miles

Rowing machine, 20 minutes - converted to 1 mile.

So add all that up, and we get to 31.79 miles from me, and a new team total of:

2949.81 miles Go, team!

Life happens, Connie! Be good to yourself during this challenging time, and recover from the source of the pain!

I have daily little aches and pains that I deal with, but find that if I take the time to slowly warm up, I can still be fairly active. I kind of have the feeling that this is "for the rest of my life"... there will be good days and not so good days, and I just have to keep asking my body what it's willing to do TODAY!

You never cease to amaze me, Barb!
Still dealing with leg pain and have been working tons filling in at work since we closed up north for the season...I am even filling in on weekends also so I’m focused on getting through these next couple weeks. Seems more challenging at work these days :-/

Walking miles, Runkeeper 10.38 plus treadmill about 2 miles split up over 2 days

Strength training with the coach, twice, @ 3 miles credit apiece: 6 miles

Rowing machine, 20 minutes - converted to 1 mile.

Old team total 2898.64 + 19.38 = 2918.02 new team total!

slowly approaching that 3000 mark, now less than 100 miles to go!

I suppose I should update my miles leading up to and during the road trip. This will be from last post through this morning. Starting point team miles, as of 9/23 post: 2871.52

Walking miles (per Runkeeper): 10.83

Running miles (per Garmin): 13.29

Strength training with the coach (converted at 1 mile to 10 minutes): 3 miles

NEW TEAM TOTAL: 2898.64 miles. We're creeping up on that 3000 mile mark... only 102 miles to go!

things are looking better, Barb, but such a long way to go! we haven’t done our railing on deck for 15-20 years so it definitely needs to get done. unfortunately, our deck is huge and many spindles (haven’t even started them yet!) Hope to finish by next month. I’m doing this project by myself...

Barb & Connie, I just wanted to let you know when I went back for my second acupuncture, doc said to stay off of the bike until I have had a few treatments then I could slowly get back to it.

I am still doing well and itching to bike but will listen to the doc and follow directions.

Hope to be back soon. We are headed to NY in October and I will be doing lots of walking so want this knee to feel good then.

Plus treadmill in front of the TV last night: 2 miles

It's not much but it is a good start back. I have been plagued with pain in my knee/leg so when nothing seemed to helped, I went for an acupuncture treatment and Wal-lah! Relief so will continue with the acupuncture while slowing making my way back. Color me very happy today.

Runkeeper reports 11.81 miles walked this week (including this morning).
Two strength training workouts with the coach, 3 miles apiece.

We're going to develop an echo in here... I posted last *two weeks ago*! Yikes!

So, I've got two weeks worth of walks and strength training to add in:

Runkeeper has recorded a total of 14.69 miles since then.

And I've had 4 sessions with the coach since then, and I'm counting them as 3 miles apiece, so 12 more miles to add.

This brings our team's annual reported total up to: 2733.6 miles

That's a good total, team... keep on adding, when you get the chance. emoticon

Been a while! Let's see what I can add for the past week or so:

Old team total: 2682.96

My last post was 7/22. Since that time, digging out the records from RunKeeper, walks of
1.28 (Sunday 7/22)
1.43 + 1.3 (Monday 7/23)
0.91 + 1.32 (Saturday 7/28)
1.65 (Sunday 7/29)
2.56 (Wednesday 8/1)

Total recorded walking miles: 8.8

Workouts (strength, including elliptical warmups) with the coach on 7/24, 7/26, 7/31, and 8/2 @ 3 miles each = 12 miles credit.

The only run on there was last night's 5K: 3.15 miles, per Garmin.

So, total credit for two full weeks: 23.95 miles, which brings the team total up to:

2706.91 NEW team total!

Oh, Connie... first glad Steph is home and surrounded by supportive family. Second, sorry it even happened. Third, prayers for continued recovery. She is one tough woman. And has come by it naturally!

Don't have a lot of miles to contribute this week, as I've been under the weather myself.

Tuesday 3 miles for warm up on elliptical & strength training with the coach.
I don't remember which day I walked around to mail a letter, but didn't start runkeeper, but I know that loop: 0.8 miles.
Yesterday got 1.2 miles walking.

So total to add 5 miles.

New team total (including a ten mile adjustment for math in earlier post this week):

2675.96 miles!

Stef’s very weak but seems stronger each day, still needs 24 hr care by family members. she just started to be able to stand up with walker. Her blood pressure is horribly high and dr put her on meds, also blood clots seem on doppler but on meds for that. she had that bariatric surgery (not the sleeve) and I would never recommend that surgery for my worst enemy...She’s in for a very long recovery, for sure!

OK, it's getting quiet in here... how's the weather where you all are? We got a cool down here the past couple of days and it's helped ME be a little more active.

Oh, my goodness, I've not reported in a while... and it's not been for the best reasons... I've been a slug in the heat!

But yesterday I ran a 10K (for those who aren't up on the blogs), which is 6.2 miles, and this morning I swam laps (first time in the pool in a while) for 0.48 miles, per Garmin, oh, and I walked 0.95 miles to mail something on Tuesday.

Adding this to the 2520.4 team miles previously reported brings us up to: 2528.03 team miles.

Yes, it's hot out there, but hopefully we're getting at least SOME activity in! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Woohoo - over 2500 miles. That is awesome.

Knee still bothering me so really counting down the days until I can get my shot. We go to Columbia on the 19th. I thought it was the 11th so disappointed that I have to wait a while longer. I am doing some stretching exercises and actually have biked a couple of times this week.

Meantime, down in the warm midwest, I'm adding the walks (2.51 miles per Runkeeper) and elliptical (20 minutes, calling it 2 miles) and strength training (two half hour sessions, calling it 4 miles together) and one run (4.17 miles, per Garmin).

Happy Memorial Day weekend, MM&P team! Hope we're all remembering the reason for the Holiday itself, for those who gave their all in service to our country. They should never be forgotten.

This morning, 30 intrepid athletes ran our local Memorial Duathlon (2 mile run, 12 mile bike, 2 mile run) in their honor and memory, myself among them.

Hey ladies...I have nothing to add. Just wanted to reach out and let you all know I have not fallen off the face of this Earth! MIL has been hospitalized since April 9. She is currently in rehab and hopefully coming home next Friday...May 11. Additionally I have been battling bronchitis since this past Monday along with a lovely ear infection. My plan...to get myself back on track and moving on Monday, May 7. I look forward to adding some miles soon! Enjoy your weekend!
