Ruth--- emoticon emoticon YOU DID IT!!! emoticon ALLL THE WAY thru this challenge month! Having a couple days off for this Easter Weekend or just a weekend break is a well-deserved reward and pause. I'm soo proud of you and hope you feel the benefits of having done this this month. You're emoticon emoticon

New Moon-so are you emoticon ! This was such a great idea and each of us did very well for a time that was HUGE for us and kept each other keeping on. emoticon
You are still super emoticon and super worried about. I hope all is well and you've just needed some time.

You are both loved! emoticon emoticon Those of us here just DO have a special bond...we just "know" so much of what's entailed in this journey...in lots of areas.
I say again, let's stay close and continue on. BEST wishes as we do that emoticon emoticon

YEA!!! THERE you are, Ruth emoticon So good to talk with ya some, here emoticon emoticon Thank you for the goodie, too:-) You've done soo fantastically well with this challenge. So was New Moon, and even "me" part of the time. I don't know how you do the 6 min's...I tried to do 3 min's when we started and it was too much for me-just shows HOW MUCH I NEED to do it so I can build up and feel better. It was soo cool to see you build from 5-6. When I was doing it and added the arm rolls it was a big deal for me---my arms are so heavy, it was really hard for me to do. I felt both things A LOT---that's what's important for us at our level of fitness-to do whatever is within our beginning spot-then add as we can.
I didn't weigh today-my doc was sick and canceled---but---I could have gone in anyway and used the scale. Didn't have the courage for it today...I know it'll be up---then I've JUST GOT TO REJOIN YOU and keep on going......let's stay close and not let go, ok?...ni-night for now-Sherry

Ruth, you're doing just emoticon Friend!!! I'm soo proud of you!!! You have definitely made it thru this challenge! Only a few days of March left. I wish so much you'd talk some along the way-like I've said, would soo like to get to know you more emoticon

I am sooo very worried 'bout our NewMoon...last I heard she was having some physical symptoms that alarmed her AND me...then this silence. I'm soo anxious to see her here again.

I'm ....I'm not doing well...I'll weigh tomorrow and I know it'll be another week of gaining. I'm really "off". Sorry to say. I had that one week I'd gotten back on soo very well...

I'm on one of those days...a couple of em now where I'm losin' it again---that'll affect those 10 lbs if I don't watch it-but I don't know what to do-
Son is here from Alaska and we're going out some--and I'm still wayyy worn out doing a lot of running around...sorry no exercise of our kind for a few days here-but I'm sure active...so I'm still with you. My Son leaves Mon...then I'll have to repair damages to my ranges out of whack.....sigh...it was sooo hard for me to get back doing well again...hope I can again....will again???...argh.

This is EXACTLY what I mean---I come in here and I see you guys and it means EVERYTHING to me to keep on keeping on. It's so hard---and SOO IMPORTANT!!!...I was telling my therapist this morning how I did what I recorded yesterday-how hard it was for me-my arms are soo heavy---and the marching-I'd set an alarm-but it went off before I thought it should, so I began again for a 3rd time---finally setting a timer instead of alarm-so I actually did more than the minute-but---I get soo tired sooo fast and I was trying to talk to him 'bout how discouraged I've been and PUSHING and not doing well with the eating---and he was thrilled with what I'm doing with the extra activity I've had and the marching and the arm rolls....NOT to feel bad that it's seemingly small-cuz it's HUGE at this point-fantastic for this point.....and this kept up WILL bring strength and change...

OHH!!!..Darn it!!!...I just wrote a really good message and I don't have time to re-do it---it vanished!
Just want to say OHH SUCH FANTASTIC WORK Ruth and NewMoon! I know what a HUGE EFFORT this is-especially the times it's above and beyond what you feel up to. This is so very inspiring to see and helps each of us WANT TO keep on caring for ourselves-and being here because we know each of us will be anxious to see the other when we come in.
I'm still not feelin' good-but not any worse at least-hopefully I'll post some activity tomorrow-I had a Housing inspection today-so that was something that had me active again without being what we are actually doing-but at least each day plenty of activity with you guys-I'll settle back into our type things in the next days---Hugs, you guys!

Thanks for posting! I cannot lift my legs as high as the woman in the picture. I lift them as high as I can. That was really the only pic I could find online to demonstrate the motion, in case someone else was interested.

Glad you spent time with your son and of course all the going here and there is perfect for your day's marching.

I'm so sore today but I will make sure I do something and I'll post that later today.

I haven't watched the vids because I am not on Facebook right now. I logged out in October when there were too many things happening with my husband and my cats...one of my kitties has terminal cancer, the other has chronic UTI issues. Surgeries have put us in a huge amount of debt. Facebook was becoming an endless source of bad news and when something bad happens, of course everyone posts about it, so you hear the story over and over and honestly, I was not emotionally strong enough to handle it anymore. I also don't want to see how some parts our society have become so rude, selfish, and downright mean. It is disheartening.

BUT, for those who are active on Facebook, I am sure they will enjoy everything you posted and I do hope our friends here will check them out.

I'm trying to put a collection together of exercise resources for larger/physically challenged people and that's where I'm putting links, etc. so we have one place to refer to. WAY TO GO, NewMoon!!!...Don't know how you do that-I find it hard to lift my legs sitting. I'm soo proud of you what you're PUSHING to do!
I wanted you to know I've been here and seen this.
I didn't do a formal challenge today-but was out again today and on the go from morning on. Went out with my son and that means soo much to me. I get soo very tired out, tho. I did laundry, too, that's alot for me hanging and folding...
Just wanted to let you know I'm with you.
Love your sitting exercise posts. Did you see my cute one with the older lady? I truly thought that might be one I could start with. I haven't checked yours out yet, but I will.

Hi Friends,
Just wanted to report I did LOTS of walking while I was out today. So I got my exercise in well for the day. Tired out now-will do as I said below manana:-) Ni-night---(see my one below, tho:-)

That was great, New Moon. Helpful to others, too. DOUBLE emoticon

I've got to go run errands which will have me walking a bit.
When I come back, I either want to try to do the lil' video I'll post here: -), or the 3 min thing I did yesterday. Those 3 minutes, I tell ya, I almost "didn't" make---I had wayyy slow downs and second long pauses...this is a big deal I'm sooo proud we're doing!

Now--this lil' video is from FB-I hope it posts.
Before we set this goal and set this up, I saw this and it so made me smile-and I thought, "hey, maybe I could do that!? ...Such joy with it, too:-) Listen to her laugh, too:-)

OK, so today I have a lot of pain in my back, which I made much worse by bending over and scooping out the litter boxes. That means my goal for today is adjusted accordingly.

BUT the important thing is I DID SOMETHING!! YAY!!

Congrats on your 3 minutes!!! I have a feeling I wouldn't make it that long (yet). That's so awesome.

I'm so sore from yesterday and I need to think about what I want my goal to be today. I will post it in a bit. I want it to be something I can actually accomplish. That's why I made this challenge so flexible. I want to be able to DO what I say I will do.

Boy, you guys...I thought "I'll set an alarm for 5 min's and march in place"...
then I thought "no---let's set it for 3 min's and see how ya do"...
I DIDN'T THINK I was gonna make it!!! emoticon for THREE minutes!!???...
I was soo worn out---I was trying to keep a decent pace and raise my knees...
I know soo much how I ohh soo need to do this. I'm glad we are. Thanks so much, New Moon.
I had a physical therapist tell me if I didn't get beyond being sedentary, there could come a time I wouldn't be ABLE to...so....again-glad we're doing it........

I am 100% sedentary right now, and use a cane to walk in my apartment. I am so happy you are here and even if we are just sitting and raising our feet up and down, that counts. ANY EXTRA MOVEMENT COUNTS. Nothing is too small. It's all success.

Yea emoticon So here we are! I am extremely sedentary at this point as well-so SOME movement is going to be great. And a challenge. I get tired VERY quickly. I use a walker for anything beyond just around the inside of the apt. I want to feel better. To increase endurance. To increase balance. So every step will be---a STEP!

emoticon RULES FOR THE MARCH MARCHERS CHALLENGE emoticon

1. YOU make the rules. You pick what you want to do. You want to count steps? Great!! You want to count time spent? Fantastic!!

THIS IS YOUR CHALLENGE.

At this size we all have some limitations. We are all different. I cannot set a goal for you, nor should I.

You know what you are doing now. Take that and add a tiny bit more to it. Add what you KNOW YOU CAN HANDLE.

Me? I'm currently doing NOTHING. So, my goal will be small to start with.

2. You can change your goal as you need to. We are not starting out as a team saying something like in March you will do X amount of steps. NOPE. This is YOUR challenge. The key is to do something every day. Set your goal and meet it. You know what you can handle. Do that every day and just a little bit more, even if it is one more step.

3. Use this thread to post. If you want to use one post and edit it daily, great. If you want to make a new post every day, awesome. If you want to post once a week, go for it. We want to make this a challenge we can accomplish. Whatever works for you is how you should do it.

4. Have FUN. Enjoy the process. Set goals you can accomplish. Share your progress here. Be a cheerleader to the team. Take pride in your hard work. Don't compare yourself to others. We are all different and some are more active, and some are disabled. However you chose to MARCH is your decision. For some that could mean miles. For others, like me, it could be just lifting my legs while seated on the days where I have a lot of pain.

5. Didn't come to this on March 1st so you think it's too late?? NOPE!! Don't let perfectionism get in the way of your progress! Is it March? Then JUMP IN.

6. There is no right or wrong other than making the promise to YOURSELF to literally TAKE STEPS to better health. Heehee "TAKE STEPS". Get it?

Here's to us and our dedication to ourselves to a month of movement.
