Man yesterday was a great workout day for me. I had to go home early (= I was home by 5 ish instead of 9 ish) yesterday so I did Cathe's STS disc 30 in the evening, followed by her new Low Impact Series - Trisets lower body, followed by 35 min of rebounding (and I had done 35 min of rebounding in the am!). Felt great!

And then I woke up and did another 35 min of rebounding this morning. I do love starting and ending the day with rebounding!

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I got in another 35 minutes this morning.

You are right, I am feeling great. I am completely addicted to rebounding! I am saving up for a second rebounder so I can have one in my office. And I am trying to get my Mom and my sister to purchase rebounders, too! I am a rebounder pusher!

Thanks! You're right... I need to get back to rebounding for stress RELIEF! LOL

Yippee Jillian (Sarah)! You're doing gr-gr-GREAT!

Yeah, Connie... I completely agree with what you said: "Guess I'm just going to have to accept slow and steady - rather than trying to sprint! Very irritating - but if I push harder - I end up getting away from doing anything! GRRRR!"

SO TRUE FOR ME TOO!

I do get to thinking that if I can't do "what I used to," then why do just 'puny' stuff?
But that is toxic thinking!!!

Will check in again later.
Everyone: Hope to hear from you all soon! Either this thread or another!

Susy - so sorry to hear about "house stress!" Hope another offer comes along soon!! At least now you are more ready for the next one - with some of the other cleaning finished! :-) emoticon emoticon

Now you can get back to rebounding and relieve some of that "house stress!" emoticon

Jillian40 - Woo HOO!! emoticon You should be feeling GREAT! :-)

Did my little 10 minutes today!! Determined to keep at it - wanting to rebound once this week to a dvd = Senior Oldies!! That's this week's goal - in addition to my 10 minutes other days. Guess I'm just going to have to accept slow and steady - rather than trying to sprint! Very irritating - but if I push harder - I end up getting away from doing anything! GRRRR!! emoticon

Eek! I don't think I rebounded this past week!

In my defense, we were under contract for our house to sell and were SCURRYING to get i's dotted and t's crossed -- as well as clean out our garage that has never been emptied, although the house inside is empty.

Anyway... long story short: It's not going to happen. The bank is declining the loan due to a technicality. (Too tiring to explain fully...) So much for thinking I was moving this Wednesday.

Sarah - Glad to hear it when anyone talks about using the rebounder to relieve stress!! Just makes my heart happy - b/c I find it is a great stress reliever for myself as well as DH!! :-)

Waving at everyone!!

I haven't been on the rebounder for a few days = could've - but kept forgetting - until I was in the middle of something and my back was hurting a bit...we often get on and do a health bounce to realign our spine! So - glad weekend is over and Monday is coming!! Will be back on track!

I did 30 min in the evening on Monday as well.

Then yesterday (Tuesday) I did 60 min last night...just felt good so I kept going.

This morning I did mesocycle III, disc 27: shoulders, biceps & triceps, followed by 5 min on the rebounder - hopefully I will get in some more bouncing when I get home this evening.

This is the one exercise that I do in the evening! Usually I work out in the morning, but I don't work out once I get home (I get home pretty late usually ~ 9 pm and feel tired - but I like to bounce to get rid of the stress from the day)

I love seeing/reading everyone's input on the threads!

And when I read about the ongoing actions for our Fall Challenge, it reminds ME that I need to post! LOL

20 minutes today!

I bought a non-rebounding exercise dvd: Kelly Coffey-Meyer's new "Train Like a Contender."
Tonight I followed (best I could) the moves on that while on my rebounder. When I wasn't quite able to do what they were doing, I just rebounded with gusto! ha/ha

Got my rebounder and them promptly left for the mainland - BUT I returned Thur. Oct. 13th and I have rebounded every day since I got back. I've rebounded for 30 min/day plus 5 or 10 min a few additional times on Sat. and Sun.

I am just coming off of my 8 week rotation of Cathe Friedrich's STS mesocycle II - I started meso III on Friday. After doing STS on Friday I followed it up with 15 min of rebounding (I figured that would help keep me from getting DOMS). I did plyo legs on Saturday - yowza that workout gets me! And again, I rebounded afterwards. I have a Mindy Mylrea workout that has a jump roping routine in it and I did it on my rebounder with those "ropeless" jumping ropes.

I woke up this morning and did 30 min or my rebounder before work. I am completely addicted to it!

Thanks for the challenge!

Haven't done what I wanted to...but this week have rebounded 10 minutes health bounce every day. emoticon

Right now - just can't seem to physically get past the 10 minute health bounce. Frustrating!!

Have also been on inversion table for 20 minutes or so daily. Hopefully my back will get better - Hopefully I will quit lifting heavy stuff just when it gets better (but isn't strong enough yet) - and I can get to the dvd workouts again at LEAST a couple of times per week!!! emoticon

Incredibly glad at this point - I DO have options!! :-)

Hey, I rebounded four days this week for about 15 minutes each day, two days of high intensity doing sprints on the rebounder, and got in two days of strength training. I'm going to aim for a little better for next week.

Oops! I don't have a clue as to where I am on the Fall Challenge (10 minutes--3X a week). Bad, bad, bad---I know. But I think I'm doing EXCELLENT on huddling daily! Yay!

Today we moved campsites (from Kentucky to Tennessee), and I opened up my rebounder and jumped for 15 minutes late this afternoon. So happy to report that! LOL

Tomorrow we have to move again, but then we will be staying put for a week. Whew!

Julia, I'm sorry you don't have enough space to leave your rebounder out. I know the difficulty that causes.

You asked about where we are traveling to... Well, lots of places! LOL We camped our way to Nashville, where we are staying for a week for an RV rally. Then we will leave here to go on to the Smokey Mountains for a short visit. And then we will turn around and camp our way back home. We've been staying in COE parks---Corps of Engineer parks. And we've been lucky enough to get really GREAT camping sites, usually right on the water!

Yes, I got the carrying bag (free) with my half-fold ReboundAIR rebounder. The bag comes in handy because I've already hauled my rebounder several places. ReboundAIR also makes the Quarter-fold rebounder---and I sort of wish now that I'd have bought that one, as it looks even EASIER to haul around.

How's everyone else doing on this Fall Challenge?!

--10 minutes 3X week
--Huddle frequently
--Go through our forums (archives) and either comment or just check out any past posts that are of interest to you.

I'm working from memory here, but I think that's our Fall Challenge!

Confession! I don't have enough space to leave rebounder out so that I can jump whenever chimes go off. But I do occasionally use the chimes to get up off my Wide Load and go do something else - check on laundry or go to the store or get other things done around the house here.

That is just one long road trip, Suzy!! where are you going this time? Oh and did you get the cover or bag that goes with your rebounder? (I forget if you had the Urban Rebounder or some other collapseable/foldable rebounder, sorry, going senile!). My UR didn't come with a case but I'm gonna check on eBay and see if I can't find one because I wanna take mine with me when we go on vacation in a month.

heh!

Hey! We're all checking in! How neat is that?!

It's so good to hear from everyone! I do like it when we're more active on here 'cause it spurs me on to be more active with my rebounding!

Well, just as I suspected would happen, I've been sporadic on my bouncing due to the rebounder being put away (during travel) and then not getting it back out immediately.

Beth: Sorry to hear about your head cold. Sounds good on your plan to bring your rebounder indoors so you can health bounce more frequently. You should be getting your new Low-Impact Cathe dvds soon, shouldn't you?

Julia: Happy, happy to be keeping up with you either on here, or via your blogs. I know I'm not replying (or posting) frequently. Sorry 'bout that. Traveling every other day (or 3 or 4 days) just twists everything around for me.

Connie: Yeah, I've tried (and been successful so far) in spinning the wheel, as well as huddling every day so far while on vacation. I'm glad you've noticed about the huddling! And now, as you've said, with your camping and the state fair being over, you'll get back to a routine. (That's my plan once my vacation is over!!! LOL) Kudos to you on NOT overdoing it on eating the fair food.

Is anyone still listening to their chime and bouncing when it goes off?

I have a confession to make: Sometimes I purposely turn the chime off---if I know I won't be getting up to bounce. But all of yesterday and so far today, I've gotten up each time it's chimed!!! LOL

hey, I took a week off from exercise due to my head cold.

This week I plan to bring my rebounder inside and do some health bouncing, hopefully every day. I am still trying to figure out which strength training routines I want to focus on.

Everyone, have a great week!! emoticon

Waving at Julia!!! emoticon Love reading your comments!!

Have fun, Susy!! emoticon

We just finished having Kansas State Fair - where DH and I ate and slept and entertained family off and on in tent and dining fly in the parking lot expanse. WHEW!! We hadn't camped out there during previous years - and had fun/walked the fair grounds nearly every day - slept some nights there - some nights at home. Rained hard 2 nights - dining fly flooded...tent stayed fairly dry...need to improve the tarp positioning under the tent a bit - caught some water..and seeped through the floor in spots..but not to worry! Glad it was coolish out = prevented mold etc.!! and we didn't sleep out when the mosquitoes flew again! emoticon

Weight is holding pretty well on the down and level side! very happy! Didn't eat much fair food - which is a change...but enjoyed the walking walking walking!!

Not much rebounding = emoticon = but with the fair and camping over - will beef that time on the rebounder back up!!! emoticon

Have noticed - it must be a busy time for many here - not much recent posting - but glad to see the Huddle Wall still a place to keep in touch!!

Will see you all around here more as the month progresses!! emoticon

Went for walk yesterday (was supposed to be my day of rest). Then today I did squat...NOTHING. bad girl.

Susy, where are you going on vacation for a whole month ? we'll be going later in October, in about a month (and I'm planning to bring my rebounder!). I think you can get a list of places where you can get free wifi off of att.com - like McDonald's, Paneras, some Walmart SuperCenters & Sam's Clubs, that type of thing, large corporate chains. So you know, stop and eat something HEALTHY like oh, glass of water? and bathroom break? and sneak on their wifi. Sometimes it's strong enough you can just sit in the parking lot and pick it up. Heh. Depends on the city. We'll miss you! I'll try to stay out of trouble!! ;-)

Have a safe trip!! Do you ride in the RV when you travel? or is this one of those deals you hitch to your big TWRUCK (I think my brother calls his a 5th Wheel?? My only "experience" with traveling with an RV was that "toy rental " from CruiseAmerica - basically a body hitched on back of a modified van or small moving truck kind of affair, big enough really to sleep maybe 6 if you held your mouth just right. So DH just drove it and his parents were strapped into their chairs - wasn't where they could comfortably lay down on the bed while it was traveling. I was following along behind. No fun, but at least I didn't have to listen to them kvetching and I could listen to my favorite music...and when I needed to stop and nurse DS (this was like shortly after he was born and we took off for vacation), I could pull 'em over and then go lay down on the bed to nurse him and grab a quicky nap. *sigh*.

Well I was going to go to bed "early." If I hurry, I'll be asleep before midnight. If not, I'll just be a pumpkin!

So I guess I -have- fulfilled all three challenges this past week in one way or another. Although with my NOT rebounding these past four days, I feel like such a slacker! LOL

Mon, 9/5 - 10min
Tue, 9/6 - 15min
Wed, 9/7 - 10min

Anyway, here's a reminder to everyone---or just in case I've forgotten to mention this:

I will be on vacation (on the road in my RV traveling) for the next four weeks and will be v-e-r-y sporadic with having internet. Since I foresee having to keep my rebounder folded up and stashed away behind my sofa, I kinda doubt I'm going to be dragging it out and setting it up all that much. If I -do- make the 3X weekly challenge, I will truly be surprised!

Ya'll are going to miss my daily huddling and frequent posting though, right?! LOL

I leave on Wednesday morning, so... that means if I rebound on Mon/Tue and then r-e-a-l early on Wed., I will at least make the challenge for this coming week!

I may have to take a few days off from weights. It's no fun lifting with a runny nose. I feel guilty but I may just do some rebounding and get some rest. ~Beth

I rebounded Monday-Thursday for about 15 minutes each day, did Supreme 90 Chest/Back Monday, Legs Wednesday. Friday I came down with a sore throat and haven't done much since. I hope to be back at it tomorrow.

LOL Guess I need to do an update on the Fall Challenge for this team!

9/6 - 15min rebounding
9/7 - 10min rebounding + 30min Curves Strength Training/Cardio

Laura, you are so MOTIVATED with your workouts! Impressive!

I did just purchase a Bootcamp type exercise DVD off of Amazon called, "20 Minute Total Body Workout Fitness Boot Camp" by Vadim Vilensky. The only two things used besides your body weight are a set of dumbbells and a kettlebell.

And I also bought a Stretch Out strap that came with a booklet of how to perform a variety of stretches with it.

Hopefully, I can try both of those out soon!

Thanks Laura! I know that Julia is going to appreciate everyone's input. I know that I appreciate hearing the responses on this topic!

I don't own a HRM, but I know that there HAS to be a HUGE difference in doing 30 minutes of a simple (gentle) health bounce on a rebounder versus someone doing 30 minutes of intensely rebounding that includes high jumps, squats, speed, etc.

I went and had a look at my fitness tracker. I burn just over 300 calories for a 30 minute rebounding session. Specifically I did the Urban rebounding DVD, Compilation #2, Interval Burn segment.
I wear a HRM, that calculates calories burned. It's pretty accurate as it takes a VO2 Max fitness test to see how efficiently someone burns calories. It was over $300. It's a Polar.

rebounded 25 minutes, sweated like a dawg, and SparkPeople said it wasn't many calories. I'm not sure about that. Check out my blog.

I'm singing along with Suzy! I knew I should've rebounded soon as I got home this evening, instead of planting my butt downstairs and sparking. I ought to rig the computer monitor and keyboard so that I can at least ride the old quaint exercise bike (has stationary handles). Have to think of something...

But, alas, the midnight chime is about to hit.

However, I did wake up around 5 am and went for a run and walk in the early pre-dawn not-so-mugginess so I did get SOMETHING done today. Yea!!

Hubby and son went on a road trip. I got a lot of vacuuming to do, as well as exercise and sparking and gonna do some juicing to. Maybe even try to make that zucchini squash gratin... hmmm

Take care!

Man, I have two days of -no- rebounding! How did this happen?!?!
Even my chimes didn't help me!

Yesterday and today I worked my shift at Curves. (Standing for hours on hard concrete floor is fatiguing! Yes, there's carpet, but I swear, no padding underneath.)

Ran errands yesterday after work. Went out for the evening.
Went to lunch plus shopping with a girlfriend today after work and then visited with her for several hours back at her house.
For now... I'm just going to go put myself to bed...

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I'll work out (and rebound)... tomorrow.
You're always
A day
A way!

Sorry! I forgot to include the link in my post. Geez! they didn't have the free rebounder offer when I bought the DVDs. And NO! I haven't tried ALL of them. Only about 4 of them.
So far, my favourites are Bootcamp with Amy Bento and Cardio Metabolic Interval with Gay Casper.
They are SO HARD! lol

Wow, Laura!

I just did a search and found those DVDs! They're rebounding on STEROIDS! Their claim is "Intense and Insane!" I'm still just a "kindergartener" when it comes to rebounding! LOL

Have you tried all 13? Which one is your favorite?

Am I reading that offer correctly? Not only do you get all 13 of the URX workouts, you get a free rebounder? (It says "Special Bonus Offer: Free Urban Rebounder".) Total Cost: $119.95.

That's a pretty impressive offer.

Yay! We have five team members (so far) in this month's challenge---at least in regards to the rebounding minutes! (We still have the huddling challenge, plus the "Review our Forums" challenge.) I'm hoping there's more team members just lurking, but planning to follow along. (Hey! I don't blame any one that lurks... I've been one myself on other teams!!!)

Well, as I mentioned on several other threads already, I received my new Urban Rebounder Compilation #2 DVD today. So while viewing (and jumping) to one segment (Box and Bound), plus my chime 2-minute bounces, I got a total of 36 minutes of rebounding in today.

What a fabulous start to September ya'll!

Ok, a rough week for me. I have managed to rebound for 10 minutes each day and get in very fast ST workout, not my usual. Food this week has been terrible, except that I have not eaten out. I try to eat healthy but yesterday just was a disaster.

Yesterday after I dropped off my daughter at school, I was returning home and crossing through an intersection (I had the right of way), when a jogger ran through a red light almost into my car. I was able to come to a screeching halt, laying down on the horn, all of that, and she was able to jump back from the car. It was one of those moments when you swear you can feel your heart coming through your chest. It's a moment when you realize you almost killed someone, even though it wasn't your fault.

When I got home, I was so shaken that I ate brownie after brownie. (My daughter had made them the night before for school.) So what is it about chocolate that is so comforting and just makes you feel all is well with the world?

Anyway, today is a new day and honestly I'm looking forward to a 3 day weekend.

Julia, I know it can get really tough to get a workout in, with kids, house, pets, and just life. I know some people put their rebounders in their bedrooms (if there is space) and just get on it first thing is the morning.

I'm one of those people who is barely functioning without coffee in the morning, so that doesn't work for me too well, but it's a thought.

Another idea is to put a time to exercise on your calendar and treat it like any other task you have for the day.

Oh boy! pretty sure I can do the 10 minutes per rebounding but not sure about 3 x a week. Got to get my groove on here... I want to find the chimes to put them on my "baby pc" (netbook) for upstairs.

Just got back from kid's "Open House" but he's still sick yesterday and today. So he's gotta go to school tomorrow! I have to get my mom from the airport in the morning!

Will have to go back and look at the other challenges, I think I already check in on a lot of the topic threads in here already as well as huddling...
