The Teddy Bear quilt is done and it is so cute! I made a kitchen Boa to take to the LQS for a display item. Those make up so fast. Especially on a serger. Carol

Well I've figured out this is a Lemoyne star but the pattern provided has wonky diamonds instead of nice even all the same size diamonds. So I went to my Farmers wife book and found a Lemoyne Star with templates there. And a book on making stars where you tape the template onto a ruler to cut the pieces. Sounds easier than the one provided and wont change the look of it. So I will likely do it this way. There is a leaf block that is paper pieced so not going there just yet. If I can get all these cut out, I can hand sew them on the trip, maybe. Or take the easy parts. Carol

Congrats and good luck Berry! While our power was out this morning, I started bagging up some blocks for a quilt called Villa Provence. www.pinterest.com/pin/231653

I'm trying to figure out how to make the 6 1/2" 8 pointed star blocks easier. There are 14 and 2 half blocks. Calling for templates that are odd sizes. Any thoughts? I though I could take the bags with me and handsew on the airplane and the trip to give me something to do while sitting. Can't stand to just sit. Trying to wrap my head around paper piecing them as well. Not a fan of that either. Carol

I finished quilting the charity quilt I was working on, broken threads and all. I know how to thread my machine now. I also quilted an Amanda Murphy piece that has the design in it and you just practice FMQ with it. It came from the LQS and I have the idea to cut it apart to make a bag out of it for the shop. Thread was breaking again but it is done. Carol

Good fortune is done! One more side to handsew but I'm counting this as a finish. I love when a quilt is finished with binding sewn on. I love to stand back and look at it to remind myself of all the effort that went into it and admire its beauty. I might put it on Etsy with a high price just to see if it would sell. I renewed my passion yesterday I think. Carol

Done is good. Had you thought of facing the binding? putting the whole binding around to the back of the quilt. Would help cover up some over the edges and might be easier to sew. Carol

Yes, 22+ yrs. It was a panel of the US map. I learned free motion quilting on it but was so new to quilting that I did a really, really thick poly batting. Then I didn't know how to bind it. We bought fabric for the binding 3+ yrs ago and I was still scared to try to put the binding on. During my summer hives, no sleep time, I finally got the binding on the front. Now I need to get the binding stitched to the back. There are tucks and pleats in it. There are areas that the batting doesn't go to the edges. It will be what it will be. But it WILL be done!

22 years Tova? Now that is a UFO. I have been so busy sewing up small things for the church arts and crafts group that my big projects are going by the wayside. One major project is to clean up my room. It is awful. I have this bad habit of never putting things away. Carol

I have 3 UFO's, although not sure one really qualifies. It was a quilt from a workshop I took in February. Doug quilted it yesterday and now we need to put the binding on.

Finish applique and put top together from BOM 2018.

And handstitch binding on quilt that has thick batting that I have avoided for 22+ yrs.
