I didn't make a UFO list but today I quilted a community service top from at least 2 years ago. Hopefully will get the binding on tomorrow. And besides finishing a UFO, I used 1 1/2 yards of material from my stash!

Worked on sashing the Butterfly Spring quilt today. Thanks to receiving 11 blocks from guild members, I have a pretty nice top going together. I think I need to make it into a queen so I might use a Bonnie Hunter trick and add a 4 patch border or maybe 9 patch. Could use up a lot of that extra fabric that way. I have about 4 yards of a floral border fabric for it. But something in between would be nice. Carol

That does sound like a great idea Linda. I had a productive day at guild although no sewing involved. First I trimmed all the squares for GF. Then I took the 4 yd of border fabric and cut strips of it to make the final borders for GF. That took a while because I had to do one layer at a time and add a 1/4" seam to each side of a border. I got 3 long strips and that should be enough. Then I cut a yellow fabric into 6.5" squares for the charity applique project we are going to do. I had a good pile of colorful precut teddy bear shapes that are going to be appliqued onto the yellow and then used in a quilt. The program next month will be about how to applique. We have several newbie members.
I started to take son's quilt apart but it needs to be done outside because the batting is in shreds and will get all over the place. Maybe tomorrow's project if it is nice.
Then I cut backing for the top that I had finished yesterday. By that time, after lunch, I was ready to pack it in. Went to the LQS, Oh, what a sale she had. Spent $37 but could have spent hundreds. For that I got 3.5 yds of fabric, 3 fat quarters, a bag of 1.5" strips of 30's fabric, and 2 patterns. I wanted to buy more but I was tired and didn't have a need for anything except just to buy something. Carol

I saw a cute idea on another site where the lady is taking her scraps and leftovers less than a fat quarter or fat eighth and cutting them into "fan blades" for grandmothers fan quilt. Then taking the blades to quilt club and sharing to make quilts for hospice. I think that sounds like a great idea.

Today is sit and sew day for my guild.
1. I think I will take Good Fortune, trim up the blocks needing trimming and get everything organized to finish that up. I'll take my Kenmore in case I want to sew.
2. I need to take my son's quilt, take it apart and cut new batting. It is actually two sheets I sewed together 35 years ago and he loves it. I can spread out on tables to cut.
3. Take accuquilt and cut and make block kits for guild.
4. Sandwich the quilt top I found in a bin on the shelf.

I could spend the day just cutting and organizing sewing or sew a bit as well. Not sure yet but I'll be prepared. Carol

Carol - I do make a list each month. It helps me to stay focused and work on getting things done. Sometimes I put things on even though I know I probably will not finish them, but it keeps it in my mind and not forgotten.

We did a block swap at guild last year where we put our own fabric in a box and it went around to 11 different quilters and they made a block for it. I was a bit disappointed in my blocks I got last night because they all seemed alike. I have to make a house block for it as my own but the rest are so similar. I did not include the basics of black and white and that was a mistake. I will sash them with black and hopefully that will bring it out. At any rate, I will have used up some fabric and can count it. There is a sit and sew next week. Maybe I should take Ripples and Reflections with me to finish. CArol

So this morning I found my 2018 AP&Q ufo challenge list that I had filled out last year. I think I kind of flunked it. What I achieved
1. Finished ORL completely
2. I quilted a top or two that were languishing.
3. I'm currently working on the Civil War quilt with GF
4. Finished the tablerunner ala AMY.

That is it. What I didn't do
1. Stitcher's Garden, I used some of the fabric for other purposes and still have some left. Did not do this BOM at all.
2. Ripples and Reflections is about 3/4 done. I did work on it. Just need to pull it out and finish the darn thing.
3. Guild house block, nada
4. In the Navy quilt, still working on it. Actually I think I might use these fabrics for the RR, Got gifted some small FLag blocks that will make the first row. Oh, goodie. A plan.

I did lots of sewing and gave lots of fabric away. That in itself is good. Carol

I brought home pillowcases from church and washed them all. Some need to be re-washed after having the spots treated again. Some will end up as dog beds or squares. We have put quite a dent into the bin since discovery of them. I'll be working on Good Fortune. Carol

First up for me is to piece the Secret Santa top together. Monday, I finished piecing the blocks.

Right now, I can only focus on one sewing project at a time, but I think I will have more sewing time spring or summer so my list will most likely grow then!

My goal this year is to finish 12 UFO's.
Make a list numbered 1 to 12 and then add your own UFO"S.
I finished a lot last year but would like to track them better. Each month you can update that list.
