NO Chemo needed! Now it is time to get back into the nutrition game, really follow the plan, lose the weight and get healthy. Might even start walking. I WILL start walking. My doctor took me off prilosec and put me on 300 mg xantax which works for me. Carol

My father-in-law had that procedure done, and DH is starting to have his food stuck. His doctor prescribed the generic of Nexium (prescription strength), and it has helped him. I just started taking prescription-strength generic of Zantac.

Acid reflux is the pits. Took prilosec for years and got switched to Xanax and it works for me. A friend had to have the surgery for a hernia and now she is med free. She took meds for years and it still didn't work. Caorl

She is fine. She has acid reflux and every couple of years they have to go in and do an endoscopy and "stretch" her throat as she starts having food get caught. The dizziness is gone also.

While my mom was having her procedure, I went out and washed my car. I hate those automatic washes! I got on the wrong side of the rails and had to drive out. I drove around the block and went back in as I'd put $8 in for the wash (meant to hit the 6 but accidently hit the 8).
By the time I was through the car wash, I was shaking like a leaf because I was sure I probably screwed something up on my car. Thank God I didn't BUT it gave me an excuse to drive over to the big grocery store. I went in, bought a jelly roll and ate it! It was so good. Didn't make anything better but it was good while I ate it! I've been wanting one for a couple of weeks so maybe this will get that thing out of my mind!

Don't like mustard or beer! We were at a civic center and prices were sky high. It was no big deal. The girls ate it. Saved me the calories.

Helped at a funeral dinner again which meant lunch was the food at the potluck. Dinner was leftover scalloped potatoes and ham and I went to a "Christmas Spectacular" with my daughter and granddaughter last night. Ate 1/2 a big pretzel and that was all. It was so dry and awful!

We went to a party Monday night and they had birthday cake and cookies. I ate the cake and the whole time I was thinking, this is so sweet, why am I eating it? Does it even taste good. We are in such a habit of eating that stuff that isn't good for us. And it doesn't even taste that good anyway. Why dont we learn? Carol

Yesterday at the potluck, I didn't eat a lot but I ate foods that I don't normal eat and went to the dessert table and ate 2 of them. I did pay for it. By the time the short meeting, program and show and tell were done, I was miserable. I always pay. Why don't I learn????? emoticon

Between working in the morning, running around to get my mammogram and getting lost on the way home (don't ask--but my dad would've been proud!!!) Went to church last night and out with friends. I had a hamburger on a bun with veggies and coleslaw. I could've done much worse! And instead of eating a bowl of cereal before bed, I just drank milk.

Thanks guys. I feel much better but this cough is annoying and having trouble getting back into normal/better eating. Church was packed tonight and I got into a coughing fit during the sermon and of course my cough drops were at home on the table. Thankfully a friend behind me handed me one.

Until yesterday, I pretty much hadn't eaten anything since Monday night. I did eat breakfast Tuesday but when the cold/cough/headache hit, I headed home and went to bed. I'm not sure if I ate anything else that day. I drank a diet 7-up. Wednesday I ate some dinner because he forced me too and I may have had a little something else. Not sure what. Yesterday I was feeling considerably better but ate chicken noodle soup for lunch. I did eat steak and baked potato for dinner. I think today should be better for me health wise and eating wise.

Well, I had a flub yesterday. Church always has donuts, I wasn't going to get one, but there was my favorite (old-fashioned) which I hadn't had in a long time. So, I caved in and ate it. I was good the rest of the day.

I baked cookies for hubby to take to his friend at the nursing home and didn't even lick the spoon or eat a cookie! Unfortunately, later in the day I ate 2!

Here we are, knocking on the door of a new year. For December our challenge is to AVOID sugary sweet foods and stick with naturally sweet and healthy alternatives. We should also take time to reflect on how we can adjust our nutrition to suit our needs in 2019.
