Carol - I like this challenge! It does help me stay focused and get most of my projects done.

I didn't get much quilting done in Dec. My quilting room was full of Christmas decoration boxes.

1. Princess dresses for 6 granddaugters:
--K1 emoticon 12/17/18
--K2 emoticon 12/16/18
--K3 emoticon 12/20/18
--K4 emoticon 12/21/18
--E emoticon 12/19/18
--A emoticon 12/19/18
2. Pajamas for 2 grandsons:
--L emoticon 12/11/18
--T emoticon 12/11/18
3. Sleep Sack for youngest granddaughter emoticon 12/10/18
4. Memory quilt for DIL -- working on it..main portion of top pieced 12/21/18

The following are actual UFO's that I need to finish for Christmas:
5. Heidi's Celtic Shawl emoticon 12/31/18
6. Sarah's Celtic Lap Quilt
7. Granddaughter's Twin Quilt

These are leftover from Nov. UFO list (I probably won't get to them until next year as they are for me personally)
8. Grandma/Grandpa's Sampler Quilt
9. Grandma's Plates Quilt - finished the top, just need to make the backing and quilt.
10. Friendship Blossoms

Added to the list:
11. Helped granddaughter make her robe 12/14/18 emoticon

Carol--I'm with you on that thought, but finding it a bit difficult to get back into. I am piecing together all the blocks for a mystery quilt that I was doing when I got the need help call from dad. I've got 6 of the 12 blocks pieced together. It is a Burgoyne surround block in Christmas colors.

As for me, I will only be piecing (unless it is a small top to be quilted) until dad's house is all cleared out. I just don't want to look at a messy area on the main floor at my house (I quilt in the kitchen). At least, I will take some time to sew.

Today is a Peppa Pig sort of day. With a hilarious way to quilt. I am so lazy when it comes to pinning the layers together and I'm in such a hurry to do this one, I'm not pinning at all, except the sides. I pinned across the very top, sewed down the edge and then quilted the border at the top. Then I pinned the right sides together, sewed that down and working from right to left for about 15" down from the top and across. I press as I go along making sure all the wrinkles are out. Then I'll go back to the right side again and start the process over again quilting toward the left. By the time I get down to the bottom, I will be done except the right and left borders to do. I should be able to mail this out next week.
And by the way, a bomb went off in my sewing room. It was a really big bomb and fabric went everywhere, on the floor and covering the tops of any table space I had, including the ironing board. I have to push things aside on the ironing board to get to it. I just dont know how this happened. There will be a major bomb debris cleaning up prior to Jan 1. Maybe I can keep it clean for the first week. Carol

I took Peppa Pig to Crafts at church yesterday. Got the panel ironed and trimmed. All I have to do is add a 4" border to it, quilt and bind it and it comes out the perfect 40 by 52 or something like that. I'll put a hanging sleeve on it so they can hang it up on the window or wall. Evelyn will love it. Just her size. I might have to buy some navy quilting thread for it as the backing and border are navy. Or use the light blue I have. Carol

Pam - Do you still have my number? If so, give me a call when you're up here and we can do lunch one day. And if not, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Carrie - I'm continually amazed at how much you get done in a month.

I've finished quilting ORL and am going to make the binding this evening and trim up the quilt. I'm not a fan of the oversized triangles that she had us do. I wish she had just had us make them so they'd fit. I feel like I'm going to trim something that shouldn't by mistake since I can't really tell where the actual edge of the quilt is supposed to be at this point.

Meg, I will be in your neck of the woods for 2 1/2 weeks in January. My SIL is having knee surgery and needs someone with her. I hope it doesn't snow tons as I can't use the snow blower and she sure can't. I bet your quilt is going to be very nice. Please post a picture.

Carrie, wow, that is a real plate full.

Tropical Noel is once again put to the side. I need to buy some light grey tulle to place over the top as top stitching all those little, bitty bits down is impossible to do with a whole quilt! Judy B Farm table runner is the winner for working on at Winter Day Camp for Quilting.

Meg, I love pieced backs using extras from the front. Takes more work but effective. I can't believe how quickly ORL came together for you. Peppa Pig is in the dryer. This is going to be a really simple quilt and I may even do it as a quilt as you go. Lay the panel on backing and batting, quilt, lay down a border strip, sew and quilt, etc etc. Evelyn will love it. I can see the end of my UFO! Over halfway done with the quilting. I ended up doing a pieced back because I'm cheap and didn't want to have to buy another 2.25 yards of fabric to get the full 90 inch width. I had cut extra brown and coral squares by mistake, so I strung those together into two strips the length of the quilt and added 1.5 inch strips of neutral and aqua to the outsides, giving me 2 8.5 inch panels to sew into the back.

I found a coral thread at Joann that I'm using to allover quilt swirls/waves. Since we're hosting a family holiday gathering, I left the leaves in the dining room table from Thanksgiving and I'm set up with the sewing machine down at one end and letting the length of the table carry the weight of the quilt.

Yesterday I got my Peppa Pig panel and yardage in the mail. It is so cute! My granddaughter's 4th birthday is Jan 4 so I need to get sewing on it. Washing it first seems like a good thing. Doing a panel with blocks around it shouldn't be too strenuous. I could always get it quilted instead of doing it myself. It doesn't have to be a big quilt and she loves Peppa Pig. Carol

Carol and Bev - yes I do sleep -- in fact I sleep through the night now where a couple of years ago I was up off and on all night.

Yesterday, I worked on cutting out the dresses. I got 2 1/2 done. My goal today is to finish cutting all of them out. But I will see how it goes. I have my daycare boy and the two youngest granddaughters. So nap time will be my work time.

Finishing ORL and mailing it in time to arrive for Christmas. It is the only UFO.

The top is finally finished. So it's backing, basting, quilting, and binding that remains.
