Good morning team. Sharon, will you have a stay accountable thread again until next challenge or just keep posting here ? Arlene sorry the old bones are aching. Here too. Got home last night at 10pm. My life will be so boring if i ever get that new job. I will boil eggs and try to get some movement in today. Drinking tea so part of my water in.

Ok, I just lost my post I was typing. I won't try to redo it right now. The horrible wind we are having is making my body hurt way too much to sit here too long. Maybe I'll feel more like it later tonight. The wind is tearing shingles off the roofs in the neighborhood. So glad we've got our steel roof.

Later,

Thanks Sharon for all the work you do for these challenges. I agree that they do help me think about different parts of my health plan and choices I make. I'm not always as successful as I'd like but not gaining is a big win for me.

Congrats Heather and Marianne. It takes a lot of determination and a lot of work to do this well. I'm impressed.

Thanks to all of you for the ideas, support and help.

Congratulations to all the losers ! Marianne & Heather are the queens ! Mary, sorry to hear DH has Pneumonia but i hope getting the tooth out has helped pain. Prayers friend. Sharon, as always, i am so very grateful for the time you take out of your busy retirement life to have these challenges. While i did not lose a ton, i did not gain and for once that is good. Jacque, prayers continue my friend. I have never regretted spending time with my brother Bruce while he passed even though i was not getting paid. We always did what we could for him. I also pray your son finds peace. He will for sure once he passes and is next to God. He will once again see and understand all. HUGZZZ. Donna, your dog is so pretty. Eileen, glad you are getting the organizing done

I agree that this challenge got me moving more, tracking more, and more grateful. I will be thinking on what i want to accomplish with next challenge. We are still short staffed at work but looks like only 1 more day as charge nurse except for weekends in my future. Felling happy about that. I love the quiche. It turned out good. I made Mike's normal except for TBSP of coconut flour and he bought a pizza. He has 9 meals in fridge right now. I suspect some will be thrown out. He eats out way too much. Seems like new normal stepping at work is 15K or more. My arthritis is not happy. Later

Good Morning!

It is very windy here. It moved in during the early morning hours and is really rocking the MH. We planned to go to Victoria with our guys today. It appears better up there so we have decided to still go and get out of the wind.

But because of that, I don't have time to do our Final Summary until we return later today. I haven't forgotten but the Final Summary takes more time so it will have to wait - sorry. Check back this evening!

I think I am finished with the shredding of papers. It doesn't pay to no keep up with things. I will soon be starting our tax returns and the way it looks it will be a very short process before writing the check out to the IRS and state. Don't think there have been many changes from last yrs. and that was a big shock to us. At least we know what is probably our "fait" this yr.

We have a blanket on our bed that is shedding to where there are very thins spots and a floor of fuzz balls. Got my fleece blanket this afternoon and looking forward to snuggling under it tonight.

Our church is opening tomorrow for the first time since things shut down. Will pick up mom in the morning and I am sure she will want to go out and eat as she does every Sunday.

Heather, sorry I am getting you too tired. We do have a month before heading north and I really would like to be organized for packing. We are trying to take more things home than we brought down and I am putting things in our cloth bags and the tubs will come out next week. And I have to take the good days while I can.
emoticon emoticon

Tessa, I haven't heard of the Polar monitor. Sounds interesting with the stickers. My Garmin gives me a red line when I haven't bee moving and takes over 100 steps to get it going and gone. Good you have improved with the stickers.

Jacque, I do hope you will see improvements when you get a chance to go. Con't prayers.

Mary, prayers for your hubby! Hoping he is improving. And that you were having a tooth pulled at the time.

Sharon, a loss is a loss and you and I matched. I am happy to have had that too. Thank you, thank you for all the work on the challenge.

Donna, great loss. It's not a gain. Lovely newfie. He is a little bigger than our 16# dog.

Marianne, Congrats on your total loss! A good start for a summer of activities, we hope.

WG, we haven't eaten out for over a year but have a feeling we will be tomorrow. Will see what happens. Wanted to buy us both a malt for tonight. I don't do malts and hubby was full as we were about done with dinner.

Hope I got everyone. Have a good night!

Eileen

Hi Everyone. After months of not eating out, I've had takeout twice and dinner out twice this week! It was very unusual and a lot of fun seeing family and enjoying a meal with all of them separately. We had good visits and it was worth it, but it made me not as successful as I'd hoped. While this morning I hadn't gained, I hadn't lost either.

LG, so glad you had a visit with Brooke. I agree that surgery doesn't help weight loss with all the dependent swelling and water retention.

Eileen, you are putting all of us to shame with all your organizing and cleaning. I hope it feels good to have all this accomplished. I'm sure you will enjoy having that off your shoulders when you go North again.

Heather, hope you feel better today. You should see the Whoosh Fairy today. Hopefully you will find better success with a change in eating.

Tessa, it has been hard the past year being as active as we want to be. I'm grateful for the ability to get out and enjoy the weather again. I'm glad you get a reminder to be more active and keep it in your mind.

Jacque, prayers for you. I remember when my mom went to my son's home when he was on hospice. It was so hard for her but she needed to go and absolutely would have regretted not going even though there was another family emergency going on at the same time.

I don't blame your son for being angry and sad and upset. I hope you can give him the love you want to and he will be able to receive it. Accept whatever he does as the best that he can do and let him do what he needs.

Mary, so sad that your husband was ill. I hope he has a good recovery. I'm sure you both have a lot going on and it was good that he could get the help he needed. I'd love to see you more and hear about your life and adventures.

Sharon, rounding up is a good thing. You made your goal. I'm glad you were able to do so. Thanks for the challenge and thanks for all the work you do. Have a nice few days before you travel again. It will be much easier this time than the time before.

Donna, that is a lovely dog. I do love Newfies. They are so fun and happy. Is he used as a hunting dog? I do love a nice dog.

Marianne, isn't it fun to think about traveling again? It has to be wonderful to think of the places you'll go. DD got some grooming tools and I thought she did a good job. She thought it to be a lot of work. Hopefully she will keep practicing as it does get easier.

Have a Great weekend.

And Mary, wed love to see you on the chat thread. Hope your husband recovers well, certainly a frightening time.

Tessa, I could have written part of your post, lol. We know what to do consistently to make progress; these challenges do help remind us. emoticon

Donna, your dog is beautiful. Weve tried to groom our two theyre terrible shedders but I cant do much more that bathe them. Hair trim practice last summer was a spectacular failure so we take them to a professional.

Sharon, Im pleased with my total loss, 9.1 lbs, but were going to be traveling again so I need to be a smart planner for both food and exercise. emoticon for this challenge, just what I needed to start losing again after a couple of months of staying the same.

So for the challenge I lost 2.1 lbs not a lot but also not a gain . . . which is what has been happening most of this pandemic. I am moving more and being more conscious of what I am eating and drinking for that I would like to thank you all. See you all back in the daily discussion. I haven't been posting in both because it feels to repetitive.
Today is a lovely day here . . . mid 50s (Spring in New England) I have the bed linens in the washer and I am going to work on getting the dog looking better . . . she needs a good brushing for several days and her feet trimmed out. Don't know if I have posted her picture so here she is . . .
She is a 90 lb Landseer Newfie

OK Ladies, I'm finally checking in with a .2 lb loss. I wanted to make a 10 lb loss but I have to settle for 9.9 lbs! So close!

Things have been bad here since last night. Dealing with issues with the MH. I will write more in the Tell Us About Your Day thread.

Jacque - Your son is a young man. No wonder he is feeling anger. I hope you can go and spend some time with him. I will continue to pray.

Mary - your week has been worse than my problems! I am glad DH is home. Did they rule out heart issues? I hope he continues to recover.

Heather - I see you eeked out a loss. Me too. I'm sorry yours wasn't more but with all my restaurant meals this week, I am thankful that I didn't gain!

Thank you all for your prayers. My son is holding his own at the moment. I will be heading to Ok at the end of the week if he stays as is. He is very angry at the world right now and doesn’t want to speak to anyone. I’m hoping when I get there he will listen to me and gain some peace.

Thinking of you Jacque

I'm afraid I'm not setting you all off in a good direction today. I've had a small gain, been the same all week, sorry.
I haven't walked an extra hour a day-I really can't do that aimlessly in the house but I've learnt some interesting things. I have a Polar activity monitor so I've looked at my stats for the week.
I know I sometimes sit for long periods (this gives me an inactivity sticker) so this week I've made an effort to move more frequently, I've only got 6 this week (average over the last 4 weeks is 10). I've also done 3 hrs less sitting and 3-4 hrs more activity (averaging 4-5 hrs a day). I also learnt that chatting in the rain while standing counts as sitting! (maybe my settings aren't quite right!)

Thank you for the challenge, it's helped me get back on track after Christmas and shed those pounds I'd gained. I know that when I really stick to my plan I lose, when I don't I'm liable to gain. I also know that exercise is good for my health but doesn't add to my weight loss.
As we start to be able to meet up more with family and friends sticking to the eating plan will be harder but getting a little normality back will be lovely.

Good luck everyone, hope you do better than me!

Not much going here.
Have done 2 loads of laundry and a third of cleaning cloths. Just finishing.
Did some shredding until the shredder chose to quit. Has half a page in it. Hope it cools so that I can finish at least that page.
Took a drive to Costco for meds and did some shopping and walked the majority of the store.
Traffic very heavy on our route and then realized the gov't delegation was here to look at the housing and river crossings of the Hispanics. plus single lane closures while laying new asphalt.

Jacque continued prayers for your son and for you.

Good luck to all with WI tomorrow.

So sorry Ive been MIA. Brooke our older granddaughter was here and we had a great time with her. She came on her way back to college. She is so interesting to talk to.

My scales are not moving either way! But Im swelling again in my ankles.

I spent yesterday running errands and making sure my membership at the gym is good to go. In doing so, I had to contact Silver and Fit thru my insurance company. They sent me a new Fitbit and DVDs! Got the Fitbit today. Anxious to get it set up.

Jacque, prayers for your son.

Good luck everyone with WI tomorrow.

Hi Dieters. After eating out yesterday, I'm being super careful today. It has been a challenge for sure. I am still eating too often and not enjoying it nearly enough. Gotta change that.

Jacque, I'm in favor of being with your son. You will not get that time back and even though your boss may need you, it may not be worth it.

Heather, I hope your pain and nausea is relieved soon. I do understand the $$$. It is a challenge to do that sort of expensive thing at any rate. Hopefully you will feel better soon.

Eileen, love the smell and feel of a clean home. I'm glad you are getting things done. I'm sure things will be nicer by the time you get here. It is not like the Parks to allow that sort of thing linger. I agree that there are a lot of hikes that are not for the faint hearted.

TC, hope you are able to find some stress relieving things and feel better today. It is nice to have things go better. Hopefully you can figure out a better choice.

Sharon, glad your haircut was a good one. I hope you get your loss so you can have a happy meal out on Sunday.

Donna, love your Happy Hour Zoom call. Do you think you will continue that since you have children who are not physically close? I think there are some things that have been good and that may be one of them.

Marianne, I love your "go nowhere bike." I'm sure you will love having the exercise room open again and it should happen sooner than later. I know here the numbers of vaccinated seniors is growing every day. They are now working down the age brackets and it is getting done.

Gotta get moving and get lunch going for the kiddos. It will be fun today with the dogs (3) and grands (3) being wild. Hopefully it will be fun for them.

Have a great day.

Looking back at my stats for the week, I see I didnt make an extra hour of walking yesterday, sorry Waisting Away teamies. emoticon
However, my weight is down this week. emoticon

Jacque, prayers for your son. emoticon

Donna, Im jealous of your exercise room, LOL. We have one in the clubhouse for our retirement community that I used before the pandemic shut everything down. While Covid cases have dropped here, no word yet on when it will re-open. We bought a recumbent bike last summer and it sits in the dining room, at least until we can have company again.

As this challenge ends, so does the BLC challenge Im involved in. emoticon

Final weigh in tomorrow and I think I will be down a bit if today is any indication. I am going to my exercise room in a few minutes to get some extra steps in . . . it is raining here today and I can watch TV while I walk on the treadmill. Our family Happy Hour zoom call is at 5 tonight and then we have leftovers for dinner . . . easy day for me although I did get to the grocery at 7:30 this morning when no one is there and stocked up for the next couple of weeks. I have been trying o only go once every 2 weeks since the pandemic started and for the most part I have been fairly successful. Nothing big planned for the weekend so I will probably try and get some cleaning done . . . the dust is visible again.
Good Luck to everyone tomorrow.

Jacque - my heart goes out to you and your son. I am uplifting you in prayer. I read your post to say he was out of the hospital and in Hospice care. Whatever, know that your are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am still struggling to have a loss this week. Me, of all of us. I'm the one asking for a no gain week!! Our friends wanted us to drive in to Corpus Christi to go eat at Texas Roadhouse today and we declined. I feel I need a day restaurant free before WI. We will go on Sunday instead.

I went and got my hair cut this morning. It appears I got a decent cut. You never know with Great Clips!! At least it will be OK until I get back home and settled in.

Morning team,

Yesterday was lunch with mom after her doctor appt. She is ok. We ended up eating at chili's instead of red robin because RR had no staff until dinner hours. I have eggs boiled but they are very soft so i may need a new boiler. Cooking day today. Kind of sick of that. I do love new stove though. Making fat bombs

Heather, 10grand.... YIKES !!! I can see why you chose what you did. Sorry for the mouth pain. IMO, you are having nausea from the tooth. Keto flu usually has more symptoms. OMgee, another half of snow coming ! No way ! I would cry. I am ready for sunshine. Raining again today. Working weekend.

Eileen, cleaning wears me out now a days... LOL ! I take lots of breaks but music helps.

Jacque, if i read your post right, your son is now off of hospice ? If so, i am happy to hear that. If not, i hope he stays comfortable. Prayers continue.

WG, the project includes putting a reserve there also. Currently farmland and houses there. I am incredibly burnt out from work. I have been for 3 years now with some good days, some bad, and some worse... LOL ! I am trying to take time for myself and do self care. I miss my chiro and have to make appts now which before covid i did not. I could walk in when hurting. I miss my massage therapist also. Again, covid has messed this up. I am listening to doreen virtue's heal your appetite CD today while i get things done. I am hoping it resets my attitude and helps me focus again.

Finished cleaning the last room, the guest bedroom. Moved all out but the bed which we thought we would have to take it apart but no.
The mobile home is clean and smelling wonderful.

Played cards today and had to remind myself to get up and walk.
Nothing special otherwise. Always happy when spring cleaning is done. Now it to be repeated when we get home to MN. That's a much bigger job.

The vaccines, TX now has the J&J vaccine and has opened the state to all ages and soon in MN.

TC, the wheel under the bed that did the scratching is in the center of the bed, a "fifth wheel". Unless we take the bed apart, we can't reach it. Good thoughts though, we could use it on the guest bed as those wheel don't want to turn either. I love the thought of the I-80 bridge turning into a wild life path especially bison. If deer would learn to use it, the highway certainly would be lots safer.

WG, I do hope the algae is gone when we get there but it's a long time yet so it will just have to leave. I won't be doing the hikes but some of the younger people in the family will be able to do it. IT might be a while before we are comfortable without a mask. Will see.

The area we live in here is now in an extreme drought with exceptionally severe moving in on us. If a fire starts we may be evacuated as it will be very fast moving with the winds blowing from the Gulf.

Jacque, that's good news. I hope his improvement comes fast for him and for you.

Jacque emoticon to hear about your son....I hope that all goes well for him. My thoughts are with you.

Yesterday and today I kept my calories within range and my carbs to 31. I am not feeling hungry and the Slim Fast Keto shake and snack bar are very filling!
Yesterday I got my extra hour in by walking in the grocery store and Walmart. Today since I spent time driving and then sitting in the dentist chair...I had to walk back & forth here in the den for the hour I watched Ellen. My mouth is sore but have not had enough antibiotic to do a lot of good yet.

WG~~ it was rain and cold here as well today. We are suppose to have a drop in temp. tomorrow and that rain is going to change to snow. As much as 1/2 foot.

Gail...I know you live a lot further south than I do but I can't help being jealous of you gettting out to rake and mow the yard. I love doing that! My favourite exercise ( well next to shoveling snow that is! LOL )

Sharon...I don;t blame you for waiting to get your vaccine in MI....I agree that if you got the first one in Texas....it might be more difficult to get your 2nd one back home in MI
Just be careful travelling home to MI. How long are you staying at your son's?

Donna....most of our planting outside has to wait till June.

TC~~I think today I might have a touch of Keto Flu....but it also could be the pain I am having on my gum with the abscess ....I am just feeling a little nauseated but I was able to eat my supper.

Sharon~~ I hate when I lose my posts. And I hate when I don't get things right on the Spark tracker....and have to redo it. Never sure if it is Sparks or me LOL

Eileen~~OMG I hate growing old...it seems it is one thing or another or one thing after another.All these bones density scans /dr visit for this or that etccc etcc....
OH to be young again! And our weight....there you are having lost 100 pounds and sitting at a standhill. Here I am struggling to get off any amount of weight. It all gets discouraging at times eh?

Brenda~~you ok? seems you are MIA for about 3 days~~ hugz

I gotta get to bed here...Will be back tomorrow~~ emoticon

I will try to remember to do the final weigh in Saturday but if I don’t get it posted please continue on and my apologies to my team.
My son was put on hospice yesterday so my brain is elsewhere. I’m trying to wait until next Friday to go up but that all depends on how he’s doing My boss has a medical procedure next Thursday and I’m trying to stay and cover her shift. They all know I may leave in a hurry though.

Hi Dieters. It is cold and snaining. It is fine, though, because we need the water. Nothing sticking on the ground. Had lunch today with second DS and DIL. It has been a long time since I ate with them but since we all have been vaccinated and the place is pretty safe. It was fun to visit. They are getting braces for their oldest three kids. The youngest is only 8 so her turn is coming. Fortunately it will be something they can handle and all the kids can commiserate together.

Heather, so sorry you are having dental problems. A lot of old crowns do get decay. Apparently there needed to be an antibiotic in place before the crown is placed to prevent decay and they just didn't do it back then. Hopefully they will do implants so your teeth are permanent. Better overall for jaw bone strength and comfort and eating health. It is hard to decide to do so when you have to pay through the nose for the pleasure.

Hopefully you will have a good loss this weekend.

Gail, it is nice to get out in the spring and be in the yard. I'm sure you will notice the activity will pay off in many ways. I enjoy doing work in the yard when it gets a bit warmer but still in the 40's and winds again today.

Eileen, so glad you got to play cards again. It will be nice when you get your second vaccine and can get on with your plans. You have a lot of things going on in both places and it will be nice to have things moving forward. They announced yesterday that the water in Zions park has algae so people are not to drink or swim/hike in it. This means those who want to hike the narrows may not be able to do so. It is possible the algae will go away before you get there. Utah is planning to have most of the adults and some high school students vaccinated by June so things should be pretty safe. The mask mandate expires April 10 so it should feel pretty normal although some places will still require masks. That area of Southwest Utah tends to be less strict about masking and more open in its community but being in a warmer area, it is easier to meet outdoors.

Sharon, I'm sorry your friends are all leaving but it seems like you all leave at the same time so it works out. I read Ronni's post and thought it to be well written. We never know just how sick we might become. I'm glad they are on the mend but it sounds like they will take a bit to recover. Hope DGS does well and recover easily.

Donna, I get spring fever too. I love thinking about planting but have given it up for now. The yard is nice but the grass is too aggressive to grow much in beds. I have a couple of planters and pots I'll fill this year and it will be fun but I usually don't do that until Mother's day. That seems to be the prime time to start planting avoid the freezes.

Donna, I don't know about eating plans but the best one is the one that fits into your lifestyle and your needs. Not everyone can do the supplements and not everyone can do the other choices. If it works for you, it is a good deal.

TC, you sound a bit depressed and frustrated still. It is hard to get things going when you are still struggling at work and not having enough "me" time. I hope you are able to get to a happy place. What is the thing that will help you find a peaceful day or time? What is in your bucket list that will give your heart happy flutters? I know the fire pit helps you and going camping makes you happy. I sometimes get in a place where I can't get free from and it feels like there is no escape or relief. I have to take a "Calgon" moment and find a minute or hour that is mine. I have even taken off in my car and gone for a ride not telling anyone where I was going. It isn't always as satisfying as I want it to be but it does help me find the quiet and peace.

The bridge sounds like a great idea. It would be a wonderful addition to a reserve for many reasons.

I'm off to get some things done. Have a great day.

This is over on the Daily thread as well....
~~~~~
So....over the past week....I developed a swelling on my upper gum like you get with an abcess and like I did last year when I needed a root canal done. Had an emergency appointment with my dentist this morning and the news was disappointing. I have developed some cavities on my roots under my crown I had done a few years back ( to the tune of $7,500 ) Some are not as bad yet as this one today that has actually caused a huge abcess just under my right nostril but they eventually will do the same.
He said I have 2 options. Go back to the orthodontist specialist....who will have to remove my crown ( it has 6 teeth across the front ) then work on all my roots....then redo the crown...etc...etc.... to the tune of close to $10,000!
My second option.....which I had almost decided on already... Is to get those 6 teeth removed and get an upper denture! ( probably should have done that before instead of the crowns )
So decided on the upper dentures. Really feel sad about having to do this but think it is the right decision to stop wasting any more money!
Good morning !
Happy for day off. Last 3 days i have worked have been more than the usual challenge. Nuf said... LOL ! I am so sore so moving slow as usual. 15K in steps. Off work 9pm. Thinking i might make the quiche later and kind of craving angel food cake or maybe a dutch baby. Reading another book from amazon, 6 week cure for the middle aged middle. Just started so not sure if it will be helpful. I live in the quad cities and they are discussing not tearing down the old I80 bridge and, instead, keeping it as a bridge for the bison park they are planning. Could be kind of cool. www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news
So this is our excitement. I am still waiting on tax forms. Set fitbit so moving more.
Gail bet it feels good to have chores done.
Marianne, i am happy you are sleeping better and have more energy. I feel you were very blessed to have caught this. I envy your temps right now. Good that you are prepping food for trip. I know it is a lot of work but man, i love not doing so much work when i camp since i do all the cooking and cleaning.
Heather, what a deal on the chairs. They look way more expensive. You are getting more total carbs in since you are counting net carbs so you probably will not have any keto flu symptoms. Usually if you go below 20 total carbs consistently, you may get flu symptoms within 3 days especially if you were high carb before like Sharon said.
Eileen, try a furniture mover under your bed wheel next time or a towel. Maybe no scratches but glad it was not a pain to fix floor. The rib dinner with your friends sounds lovely. Beets are super nutritious but still high carb. I would still eat them if i liked them better. Mom used to grow them in our garden.
Pat, 4 weeks gone already ! Great. I am so happy to hear you are getting better and feeling more normal.
Sharon, i think waiting to get the vaccine once home should work better. I called and the shigrex is covered at Hyvee so i will get it soon. Not today though. too pooped.
Donna, glad to hear Al has vaccine. You next, eh ?
WG, happy you had a nice dinner out and felt safe doing it. Sounds interesting food wise.
A rainy day here in NH but rain is better than snow this time of year. Our snow is pretty much gone except in the woods and where the snow blower made huge piles. I have been scanning the garden catalogs and planning new gardens or filler plants for the things I already planted. It is good to dream about this time of year since it isn't particularly nice to be out and you can't really do anything yet.
So far this week I have been more active except on my vaccine day. All went well with Al's 2nd dose and he had nothing except chills last night.
I am curious about your SlimFast Keto Sharon. What do you do for meals for your hubby if you are having a bar or shake for dinner since you had your meal at lunch? I wouldn't like to have to make a meal just for Al and I don't think he'd like to eat alone either as part of a regular plan. Also is this something you are going to keep up forever or just until you get to your goal weight. I sometimes have a protein bar for breakfast or lunch but we pretty much do our own thing for those meals.
Oh well, I need to get up and move again. . . later gang.
I give up! I have lost my post twice! It is very windy here today so WiFi is not stable. I am posting on my phone this time!
Our park is looking like a ghost town. So many left to get home for Easter. Another group (including us) will leave by the end of the month. The final Winter Texans will leave by the end of April.
My weight is coming down but yesterday we ate lunch at Chili’s and today is Girls Lunch Out at a buffet! At least they have a full salad bar.
I am not giving up on weighing in with a loss on our final WI. It’s coming quickly! Thank God for my Slim Fast Keto products! I am calling on them for another miracle!
A little more quiet for me today. Did a little paper shredding and napped. Played cards for the 1st time in a yr. The 4 of us wondered if we would remember the game and we did. Will finish the game tomorrow afternoon. Did get up and move during which is usually a 2 hr. set. Was going to walk to mom's but it was a little warm and I had a few things to carry so took Roger's golf cart over.
Marianne, I have been to the Endocrinologist and didn't get a return appt. Was seen by my family Dr. and he's saying to wait and watch. But I was to have another bone density scan and didn't get it in before leaving so that is the first thing when we get home. Had blood tests here this winter and will repeat when home then I think I will push to get it done.
We are waiting for the call to get our appt for our 2nd vaccine. Should be coming soon as we had the 1st on 3/3. In the mean time we are working towards getting set to head north the end of Apr. time frame. We need to keep a close eye on the weather through central TX and the OK/KS corridor. Lots of bad stuff right now.
Heather - the Keto Flu is real but it seems to effect those that are eating lots of sugar and carbs. When you stop completely, it’s like an addict having withdrawals. You might get a headache but you have been watching your carbs and sugar so I wouldn’t expect you to feel too bad.
Hoping the scale will show a smaller number this week considering how much work around the house and yard we have been doing. I will post more info on the other thread rather than repeat myself here.
I had forgotten that I had my fitbit set up to record 250 steps for every hour and yesterday I hit every hour. Woohoo!
WG, so impressed with your creativity. The table runner sounds wonderful. Youll have to post a pic when its done. Good for your kids getting their appointments. I wish Arkansas would do that.
Hi Dieters. It is sunny and cold again today. I'm puttering this morning. I finished my DGS quilt yesterday so it is in the dryer. I started a table runner and got halfway done with it when DIL called. She and DS took me and her parents out to dinner. We ended up going to a Mongolian place and had some. It was buffet style and after selecting our food, they cooked it so I felt safer eating that way. It was tasty and fun and we teased DIL for her fear of trying new foods. She enjoyed herself.
This morning the state opened to everyone over 16 for vaccinations. My kids got online early this morning all have appointments for vaccines next month. All who haven't been vaccinated will have their first doses by mid April. I'm glad that they will be able to do this and they are excited to as well. Oldest DGS will get his this summer after he turns 16. Hopefully at least the secondary school grands will be able to be vaccinated by autumn.
Donna, hope you had a good experience with the vaccine. It depends a lot of the vaccine you got and how you normally react to vaccines but I hope you did well. It will be nice to be able to visit people you haven't seen in a long time. So many plans are fun to make. I'm sure your post vaccine bucket list will grow longer.
TC, I'm glad you got some "me" time. It is frustrating when someone else is having an easier time in life and seems to have more freedom. Hopefully you will find that you can have more time to yourself and you can find some things that give you peace. Hopefully as the numbers keep dropping that you will be able to find some other things to make your last years before retirement more palatable.
Gail, there is always something to do. It is nice to have Bruce on the waiting list. It will happen soon. The President wants everyone to be eligible by May 1 so it won't be long. Hope your errands went well.
Marianne, my oldest DS was completely gray by 28. He was white before he turned 40. He enjoys his gray hair. Mostly he lords over his brothers that he still has hair. They have thinned a lot and aren't ready to go hairless yet.
I'm glad you are sleeping better. I'm glad that surgery helped you feel better. Hope your walk today is a nice one.
Heather, I got tired reading about all the cleaning you did. It sounds like you have been doing the spring cleaning thing. Enjoy the warmer weather. It was nice that you shared Alex's windfall with the kids. Sometimes it is nice to get a good windfall.
I like shopping locally for most things. It is usually a better deal and service is better. I hope you have enjoyed your chairs now that you have had a chance to break them in.
I don't know about the Keto Flu but hope you have enough carbs to not suffer too much from it.
Eileen, it sounds like you are doing well with your plan. Hopefully you will get your next vaccine soon. We were to make an appointment for our second vaccine after having the first one. It was easy as we were already in the system and when we checked second vaccine, it was easy to make the appointment. Hopefully you will be on the list for your second vaccine soon.
So glad you got the floors waxed and cleaned out and shredded. It is nice to leave a clean house so you will have less to do when you return.
LG, glad you are moving better and feeling more like yourself. Back to the gym sounds like a good thing.
Sharon, Norm is right that your body knows when it is moving. It is just fun to know how much. I hear you about eating out. I'm up today as well. Hopefully drinking lots and being careful the rest of the week will help out.
I'm sure you will be able to get the vaccine when you return to MI. It will be nice to see family again. Is Norm still teaching wood carving?
Got to get on with my day. Have a great day.
Another day in the low 70s here, very pleasant.
Pat, thats pretty good progress after your surgery. My procedure was less invasive than yours, and 2 weeks later, Im finally feeling more myself. Looking forward to resuming regular activities.
Eileen and Heather, great activity simply doing the chores we need to accomplish. Now when I get down on the kitchen floor to clean it, it takes real effort to get back up on my feet. emoticon
Eileen, since I knew nothing about hyperparathyroidism, this last year has been surprising. You should definitely get your blood levels checked and perhaps see an endocrinologist.
Made my step goal yesterday and did 80 minutes of exercise, a real plus. My arms and shoulders are a bit sore, just to let me know they were worked. We had a produce delivery and I made a batch of kale, onion, cabbage, carrot soup and a cabbage / carrot slaw that Pete likes. I froze most of the soup for our trip in two weeks. Not cooking much today although I have some salmon for my dinner; Pete will have a hamburger since hes not a fish fan.
Sitting in the parking lot while Al gets his 2nd dose and trying to Spark from my phone.....not like being home on the computer. The weather isn't as sunny today but still nice for March ...45 degrees. Yesterday afternoon it was 66 in the shade and warmer on the back deck so we had our 1st outdoor Happy Hour of the year. Reminded us of being somewhere else in March. ..very Spring like. Not to worry though they are calling for rain and snow showers later this week.
Heather - my eating out caught up to me today. Yesterday, we went out to a Mexican restaurant for lunch, I thought I chose wisely but my weight is up a couple lbs today! I know it has to be a lot of sodium so I am drinking lots of water again today!
We are having vaccines in the clubhouse this afternoon. First for the residents of our park then they will open it to outsiders until they are gone. I feel bad that Norm and I are not taking advantage of it but Norm wants to wait until we are back in MI inside of dealing with figuring out our second doze in MI.
It is overcast today but 73 already so it will be another warm afternoon. I did a lot of movement yesterday but not many steps as I left my FB home on the charger most of the day. NP, according to Norm, my body knows I was moving!
Busy day here. We have been re- finishing our floors from a dull matte to a shiny and sparkling floor. Roger is doing the mopping of the "wax" and I help move the furniture. We have to stay off it for and hour. Then we move things back while looking for scratches on the soft surface. Yesterday did the kitchen and living room and part of the hall. Today started at the back of our mobile in the master BR and came out into the hall. Our bed is on 5 rollers but the center one choses not to turn when needed so scratched the floor. At least we were able to see and redo a quick mop over.
When not moving furniture, I am working on throwing lots of business papers and shredding. Haven't done much the past couple yrs. and the indoor patio table was holding a lot. Added more today. I have been bending and standing for the best of the early afternoon and needing to go to the desk. Busy.
This evening, friends had us over for smoked ribs and it was great. Visited a couple hrs. and then home to watch Josie (eldest GD) and her band concert on line live.
Thanks for all the comments on my weight loss.
Pat, I know 4 of it was water weight that I had gained the week before. But it was so good to see that other weight was gone too. I am finding this challenge to be a challenge with Fibro and up and downs but I think it's more to what we are doing currently.
Heather, I didn't know the carbs in beets either. Thought them to be a healthy food. I don't often eat them but still love them! Good luck on your new food plan.
Donna, we have had our 1st vaccine and soon to have the 2nd. TX. is opening up vaccines to everyone on the 29th. Right now they are on 50 yrs old and up. I hope they don't forget us with the 2nd one.
Sharon, we had our block party and pot luck on Sun. and I did well through that. Tonight's meal we healthy for us all as we are all watching what we eat. Our friends were on Keto for over a year and now it's healthy eating. My Garmin doesn't give me a signal so have to depend on the clock.
Brenda, cute posters. Love them.
Arlene, MY tracker doesn't track when pushing the cart in a store but I take and put it into my pocket which is a ton better, maybe not every step. The Garmin pops out of the wrist band and I then had a small piece to pocket. WM is where I do the most walking.
WG, It looks like we both had the pocket tracker down well. 1000 steps is about what I do as well. I drag Roger up and down every isle if we can. He has gotten so skinny, he looks like a teeny bobber! I would love to lose like he has done.
Donna, I hear you with the kids aging. Our oldest just turned 47, the middle on soon to be 45 and youngest 44.
We will be getting our 2nd in a week or so and they tell us to stay around for 2 weeks and if no problems to head home. So I think we will be leaving here around the 1st of May. Travel should be a lot less worrisome. We have close to 1600 miles to get home. Then pack the camper and and hit the road when we came.
TC there comes a time when solitude is the best for each of us and it's good to be able to recognize when it hits. Glad you won a little and could sit and relax. We were told by friends traveling back home on I-35, the border of TX and OK was absolutely packed with traffic and the casino there which is the largest in the world, was also packed! I wonder what ours is going to look like with business.
Gail, you are staying as busy as ever. We are now having bursts of things to do but seems like I do a load or 2 of laundry every few days.
Marianne, I think I got on late tonight even though I am always in the evening. It's closing in on midnight and I still need to track. Getting tired. I wonder if my sleep problems have been caused by hyperparathyroid issues. Good observation. I am still averaging 5-6 hrs. a night. I am still on hold for surgery and more lab work to be done when we return home.
Hope I haven't missed anyone but time to more on and get tracking done and then to bed. Tired tonight but know I will be reading to get to sleep as usual.
emoticon Hi Challengers!
Well this mini challenge is sure helping me to get some things done that I have been procrastinating about.
After finishing my lunch ( my Keto meal shake ) I sat a bit and checked Sparks and FB....Then reminded myself I had to move more than usual~~
SO...got up and start gathering all the winter jackets from the downstairs closets. Picked up all the winter boots. Emptied all the mitts and gloves & hats from my hall tree. My whole kitchen floor was covered. I then did some bending by picking all this up sorting them as garbage/for shelters/& the things to be put away upstairs for next winter.
Then lugged all this in about 3 trips upstairs and put it all away.
Back down to sort out a closet that had become * if you don't know what to do with it...just throw it in there* closet emoticon
( how I wish I would stop doing that ) emoticon
More added to shelter bag with the clothes. Then had to get out the vacuum to pick up dust bunnies that had floated out from the closets emoticon
Emptied a bamboo plant that had died back in January & I kept saying to Alex that I had to throw it out on a garbage night....Well tonight was garbage night~ ~ emoticon
Worked away like that for about 2 hours~~ NO sitting! LOL
Donna....YOU can't beleive where the time has gone!! ME neither! My boys are 49 & 45 this year! I was astounded when my youngest brother turned 50 and now here is my oldest son going to be 50 next year! emoticon
Marianne...my chairs were not that expensive for office chairs. About $120 American each.
Alex wanted to go to a store about 50 miles from here that sells electronics and office stuff. By the time we drove there and back and got way more expensive chairs....they would have cost a fortune~~ emoticon
We got up to 68 in the sun today but only about 55 out of the sun. Beautiful day! Got Alex to put up our screen doors and had the inside doors open front & back
Gail....Alex ia always trying to *save* money~~WHY? I will never know! We are no millionaires but we are no where near the poor house. I keep telling him that he can't take it with him. I fight every Christmas & Birthday to get him to send money in the cards to his children & grandchildren in Scotland. I am not a money waster but I do like to share what we have.....
A month go we got a windfall on an investment that Alex never expected. Right away I said...OK we are going to share a bit of this with our kids. He balked! His son owed him money from a loan Alex gave him and with Covid was not working like he had been when he borrowed it. I said to Alex....Look~~I feel bad every time I hear your son saying...* Dad...I am not forgetting about the money I owe you*
So I say we tell him that he does not have to pay it back and then we give that same amount to your daughter ( she is also struggling ) and the same amount to my son ( who is also struggling ) Alex says~~LOOK if you want to give your son money go right ahead! I say!!~~I WILL....AND I will also give some to your son & daughter....
Long story short....they all got some & Alex took loads of credit with his two emoticon
TC~~ sometimes we all need a break to be alone with our thoughts. I do not have a casino to go to though. Wish I did emoticon Sometimes I just go for a walk when I need to have me time.
WG~~my chairs were 14 years old and used a lot. The den is where we spend a lot of time esp in the winter. Playing on our computers and watching tv. They were WAY overdo to be thrown out. We stuck them on the side of the road earlier today and along came a truck around 10pm and threw them on his truck~~Gone! Good! emoticon
Sharon...I think you do well losing weight while in Texas. All those restaurant visits & club house meals~~I would gain a ton!
Today's Keto was good for me1362 cals and 29 net carbs. Will I get Keto Flu doing this plan? Have not felt it so far but today is only the 3rd day
.Arlene~~ wow...you are a busy girl you! Scanning/ making all those cards plus water jogging and walking in the store~~that is emoticon
Good almost evening from the West Coast,
Arlene, I agree with TC, someone should have at least called the fire dept if not the police. We once had a teen neighbor who started a fire near out rural property that quickly got away from him only quick action by the volunteer fire dept saved our neighbors house and probably ours.
TC, congrats on the casino win, and doing something for your mental /emotional health.
Donna, my kids are 6 & 8 years older than your daughter and they love to taunt me with their gray hair, lol. Glad you were vaccinated. Were talking with friends, all vaccinated, about getting together with our RVs in June.
Gail, Pete is always surprised by the cost of things, expects them to be much lower. I think his mind is living in the past, at least 20 years, so Ive learned to confirm the total price of everything, including any repairs. emoticon
Heather, I like the chairs. We need new swivel bar stools and Ive seen a couple I like online, but of course, I prefer the $300 ones, not the under $100. Still mulling it over and chasing sales.
It got to be 70 degrees this afternoon, very nice, and tomorrow should be the same. By Friday the weather app is predicting mid-70s. I hope we get more rain but it is so enjoyable to go outside for a walk now. In the last week Ive only had 2 nights where I didnt get at least 7-8 hours of sleep, real progress. Im guessing better sleep is a result of the surgery straightening out my body chemistry and being able to use music to lull me to sleep. emoticon
Heather, those are nice chairs. I have to laugh at your tight money fisted comment. Of the two of us, Im the tight money fisted person. Whenever Bruce says I have an idea, I usually reply with how much is it going to cost me.
Sharon, glad Nala is enjoying your mini challenge. LOL
WG, I used to hate the cold and snow but not anymore. The cold helps with the dang hot flashes. Im not looking forward to a hot, humid summer.
Donna, glad you got your shot and Al is getting his 2nd. Im still not eligible but I was able to get Bruce on a waiting list so baby steps.
TC, good for you for getting out and having some fun. Congrats on the profit for the day. Im not a big casino person but of the times I have gone, I limited myself to losing $20. Sorry Mike is being a pain.
Another busy day today. Had to run to the store again, laundry, brush out one dog, kitchen clean up (this is pretty much every day) and got in my exercise. Tomorrow, mow the yard and who knows what all else will need to be done.
Donna good to hear you had the vaccine.
Heather, Great job on the lower carb. I hope it works for you.
Sharon, great job moving every hour.
I went to 3 casinos near me today and won a little at 2 and lost $20 at the third making a small profit for day and had free pop and fun !! Got away from Mike for a bit. He was on my last nerve, Bless him ! I get so jealous that he can start work at 1030 am instead of on time. He does not punch in to work and he gets paid to sit at home. Stinky part is working in the weather. I am so beat down from my job and very irritable past few weeks. So, decided to leave and enjoy myself for a change. Got my 10K steps in. Win-win !
I got the 1st dose of my vaccine today so I am not doing a whole lot today. They said to take it easy and not overdo. I am tired anyway . . . I was so revved up about the early morning time of my app't that I didn't want to miss it so I kept waking up every hour and look at the clock..
Tomorrow is the 2nd dose for Al so he will be done. Yipee! Life can start getting back to sort of normal. We want to go to Kentucky in May and see our youngest daughter's new house. . . so exciting . . . she finished vet school in 2018 then got a job as the State Wildlife Vet for Kentucky and now she is buying her first home. I like when the kids are becoming "real" adults successfully. I also feel old that my oldest daughter turned 39 yesterday. How can I have a daughter that old . . .seriously? emoticon
Our weather has been fabulous the last few days and the snow is nearly all gone . . . for now . . . we will probably get another storm but it won't last long.
Happy Tuesday everyone.
HI Everyone. It is often the case that when I plan to go outside and do things, it becomes quite cold and stormy. Have had rain and/or snow 3 of the past 4 days. It is again winter cold which is fun.
Sharon, Happy Puppy day to Nala. I'm glad she is enjoying her walks. It is fun for both of you to see others as well as enjoy the sunshine.
Heather, love your new chairs. Always a good thing to replace chairs that are that worn. The inner workings aren't as good either. I do enjoy a good office chair.
Gail, sounds like you have had a fun day being outside. Doing yard work that isn't heavy is often fun and I do enjoy seeing and hearing the birds.
Arlene, I love that you get your planned exercise often. Does the Fitbit track when you put it in your pocket? It might help with tracking the steps in the big box stores. I usually get about 1000 steps per store. It just works out that way.
I'm off to get more things done. I had a quiet morning and the dog was a bit miffed that we didn't do more, but there was snow on my deck and now it is still below 40 degrees. I'm a baby this year about the cold.
Have a great day.
Nala is loving my new activity. Whether we go for an extra walk or I just get up and play with her. Both of us are moving and we both got over 8 hrs sleep last night!
Heather - you are doing well, perhaps better than me. However so far this week, I have not have to navigate a restaurant meal so that is helpful. I forgot to mention that sometimes I put the powder in my hot coffee and add flavorings so I have a Chocolate Caramel Latte. I use my Magic Bullet. It's good and satisfying to drink it hot. If I have that for breakfast, like I did this morning, then I will have my bar at dinner time. Your new chairs look very comfortable!
It appears everyone is moving a little more and conscious of how much sitting we are doing. That's what this Mini Challenge is all about.
Moving instead of when I would normally be sitting was no problem today. emoticon FINALLY convinced my tight money fisted Scotsman that our computer chairs had to go~~SO off shopping we went ...found some not too expensive chairs and came home with two.
Then we had to put them together~~boxes had to be broken down for tomorrow's garbage pick up.Then I had to hoover all down around the computers where the old chairs had been shedding emoticon emoticon emoticon
But we are happy enough with the new chairs~~
This is mine on the left. Alex's is the same only black & red where mine is blue. The chair on the right is one of the old ones~~you can see where all the black covering is coming off. I was forever picking up black pieces off the den floor!
Like my friend said on FB...the old chairs don't owe us anything... emoticon We have had them since 2007.
Today's Slim Fast Keto went well and my day ended with 1250 cals and 31 net carbs. So far so good emoticon
Well, today has been a high moving day. Grocery shopping, cleaning up the kitchen, laundry, pick up sticks in the yard and filled the bird feeders. And I did my upper body strength exercises.
Congratulations Eileen & Pat on your loses.
The moving isn't a big problem for me. I just have to pick how I do it. This morning I did 45 min of deep water jogging and the went to Walmart to shop and spent another 45 min walking while shopping. Of course my Fitbit doesn't track my steps at Walmart correctly because I'm pushing a cart and I also don't have my Fitbit on in the pool so I have to add that later.
My eating has been good since I had my 2 days of going crazy. My weight was back down on Sunday
I'm doing some time on the computer scanning photos so I'll have to remember to get up and walk every so often. Last week I got the birthday, sympathy and support cards all made so that meant I spent lots of time sitting at my craft table, I really love that table.
Nice to see the renewed energy here. My Apple Watch has a feature that keeps track of how much standing / sitting you do big help for the challenge this week.
Heather wishing you well with the new program. emoticon
Very envious of those of you who are spending time with your grandkids. This has been the hardest part of the pandemic for me, missing those in person visits and hugs.
Good Morning!
Weight stayed the same overnight! Yes, I am back to stepping on the scale each morning! It's been a habit for too many years to break..
Our Pot Luck was nice last night. A huge group and lots of food! So weighing in at the same weight is actually good!
Heather - Try to stick to a salad dressing less than 2 carbs a serving. I usually use Blue Cheese or make my own. I make 1,000 Island with S/F Ketchup, mayo, S/F relish & 1 pkt sweetener as I like it sweet. Lots of low carbers use oil and red wine vinegar and sweetened to taste. If all else fails, I will order mayo on the side as that is carb free! Your first day was great! Keep going.
Donna - glad you got some quality time with your GD. I am missing my family about now so looking forward to spending a couple days with my son and DIL on our way home. My DD, SIL & Tucker are miserable with Covid right now so I hope we can see them when we finally get home!
LG - good luck on picking out a new phone. I am still struggling with my new one. But, I switched from Android to Apple so it's a learning curve. Norm stuck with Android and of course, when he has a problem he hands his phone to me so that adds to my confusion.
Eileen - my fitbit let's me know every hour to get up and move. Normally, I ignore it but this week I will get up and walk when it vibrates!
Tessa - you can also get up and walk around every hour. I'm just trying to focus on not sitting on the couch all morning, afternoon or evening. You are normally a active lady so it shouldn't be a problem for you.
Hi Gang! Congrats to Eileen and Pat on your losses last week. I was reading but not posting much the last few days. My granddaughter came to my house for the weekend. Sunday was my daughters birthday so we took her home so she could celebrate with her Mom but my daughter and SIL got a night to their selves Saturday. . . .anyway there is almost no sitting in the chair time when she is here. I had forgotten how busy young children are. We always have a good time when she is here and I am really glad we made the move from VT to NH so we are closer to them. In VT were were 5 1/2 hours away and now we are about an hour. Usually when she is coming to my house I meet her 1/2 way so we split the difference.
Good News: I got an appointment for my vaccine tomorrow morning. I was eligible to sign up in NH starting today and found an available appointment tomorrow morning. Unknown what vaccine it is but if it is the J&J I will be done. So relieved to finally be making progress toward ending this time in our lives and so many others and thankful that we have not gotten sick ourselves.
The only other excitement for today is it is dump day . . . we go to our transfer station once a month because 2 people just don't make that much trash. I don't want to pay a service to pick it up when the transfer station is free if you bring it.
Have a great day everyone.
Eileen, emoticon emoticon On your loss!
I think mine was water. But Ill take it. Hoping it doesnt come back!
This mini challenge is hard for me as Ive been doing a lot of sitting since September of last year. Thats when my problem started with my hip/knee.
Im treating myself to a facial this morning. Then I intend to look at a new cell phone. My birthday is coming & this year I plan to do some pampering for myself!
Eileen..... emoticon on your loss.... emoticon emoticon
Pat....that is emoticon losing 3 pounds! emoticon
Sharon..... Your stats for us are always fun to read with your added images and a lot of work!
Yesterday....I had no problem moving more than I usually would do on a Sunday. ANJULIE WAS HERE! emoticon
For more than 2 hours it was....Grammy come outside with me.....Grammy come upstairs and see what I am doing....Grammy let's play toss the balloon around.....and so on! I was played out by the time she left but I loved every minute of it emoticon
So....I bit the bullet and started Slim Fast Keto yesterday. Had to order all my stuff from Amazon as our stores only carry Slim Fast original. Parcels only came in yesterday. Did ok yesterday with 1340 calories and 32 net carbs. I plan on my meal to be at suppertime as that has always been our main meal. Funny the things you find out when you add stuff to the Spark tracker.
I had some roasted beets ready before checking the carbs...yikes...they are high in carbs! Had some anyway but measured and counted them. Then I had some yellow beans....guess what? NO CARBS in the beans!
So my beets will be given a swerve for a while emoticon
So tonight I plan on some steak strips and a green salad with mixed lettuces & add spinach. Going to check the salad dressings for carbs later. Will add cucumbers to the side.
My goal for this challenge is to walk 5 mins. every hour.
Had a block party this afternoon and tons of great foods. The hostess did a smoked brisket and smoked pulled pork. We, the block residents, did the sides. Almost missed standing an walking during the meal but made the goal for today.
I will work my hardest to continue the drop in weight this week being the final week.
Today I've done a ST session with a quick warm up round the block. This means I haven't been out for a walk today. With the 'stay at home' rule we have at the moment getting enough movement is tricky (you can go out once a day for exercise). There's a limit to how much walking I feel able to do inside.#
I'm going to look at my activity monitor stats and see if there is something I can measure and improve on. Thank you for challenging me Sharon...but I may fail this week!
Thank you again, Sharon, for putting the stats together. Really amazing to see what we have done in a relatively short time.
Yesterday I set a goal of an extra 5 minutes per hour (12 hours) of walking rather than sitting, and made my step goal for the first time in a week. Temps in the 60s for the next few days so walking outside is a priority. It really does feel like Spring here. emoticon emoticon
Morning!
Yesterday was a great day. We walked around the Market Days and bought a couple items. It was super busy with it being the last one for most Winter Texans plus Spring Break. About twice as many vendors as normal. After the flea market we went out for lunch/dinner at Fisherman's Daughter. A very nice seafood restaurant. I had a Fish Po'Boy. It was huge so I only ate 1/2. Norm has Parmesan Crusted Flounder which he said was delicious. Then back home.
Today we have another Pot Luck and I have to run to the store to buy something to make.
I am off to do our Weekly Summary which I will post when done.
Morning,
My mood is a bit better. Sat in the sun yesterday and had myself a fire pit fire all alone for about 2 hours. I feel tired but recharged at the same time. It was cold last night but i had my sunbrella out to block some of the wind. The dancing flames calmed my mind a bit. Jacque, glad you spent some fun time traveling. Sharon, thank you for spending so much time on these challenges. They really help with focus. Eileen, sorry if you gained but you did need that recharge time also. WG, have fun with the kids, cooking/ baking. Sounds like an interesting recipe. Laundry today since i did not get it done yesterday.
Good morning it's 52 and I just finished riding the bike.
As soon as Jerry is done we are off to Publix.
I can't believe that it is over a year since I've been to our Church. They are only allowing 250 into Church but I really don't want to be there yet.
We will have a House Party with our 3 children at 11 and that is always a fun time.
When I was playing solitaire on the computer I got up and walked around before I could play another game. I also spoke on the phone while I was standing instead of sitting around.
Have a great day.
I watched the scale going down every day and was totally pleased with what I saw this morning.
Maybe the working so hard a week ago and the resting this past week made the difference.
Thanks for the new challenge Sharon. The evenings are bad for me sitting. I watch TV while on the computer and often don't realize the time sitting.
Tomorrow afternoon is our block party so will have to be very careful of sitting too long.
Hi Everyone. Thanks for the challenge, Sharon. It is a challenge that is helpful for all of us especially as we observe Vernal Equinox today. The days grow longer now and we have more daylight to enjoy. Sun gives us vitamin D and also improves mood and energy. It is a good thing to do.
I'm not moving the scale like I wanted to do. I have grands again today so DS can watch a long movie with his brother. I think we'll make some Japanese milk bread. I saw the recipe a while ago and it sounds fun. I also need to entertain them so eating is always helpful with growing children.
I plan to continue eating more veggies in my life. I feel better when I do.
Have a great weekend.
Down some, so close to getting to my goal for this challenge, which was losing 5 pounds, putting me closer to my goal weight. Im going to hate to see this challenge end. emoticon
Sharon, I do weigh every day, even though there are arguments against it. For me, it keeps me honest with myself others get anxious over the normal ups and downs so weighing daily might not work. Pancakes sound so good! emoticon
This weeks challenge is good for me. My Apple Watch keeps track of how much sitting I do every hour; I started yesterday doing more standing / walking and will try to keep it up.
Morning!
I just got back from Norm's pancake breakfast so I can record weights before we head out to Market Days for the afternoon. We are going with our friends and then going out for a early dinner after shopping at the Flea Market. They have it the 3rd weekend of each month but this is our last opportunity before we leave. It will be a fun day. Sunny and mid 70's.
I stayed off the scale for the whole week so I was nervous this morning. I was hoping for a bigger loss but I am down .4 lb so it's better than a gain! I still think I do better if I step on the scale every day! At least I know how I'm doing!
I see we have some good losses this week so Congratulations to all the losers so far!
I'll check back with you all later!
Well, I was up this week, but it could’ve been worse. A friend and I took a couple days and made a road trip to Bossier City/Shreveport. She had never been and I get free rooms. We had a good time and I really needed it to try and unwind a bit. But sitting in the car for at least six hours two days in a row did make my weight suffer. Some of my food choices weren’t the best but I ate a salad with almost every meal except breakfast lol.
TC, hope you get some much needed rest. I’ve been tired for a couple of weeks now. I know I’m overdoing and overstressing.
Weight coming back down again but no whoosh. Had to work hard this week. I am still very fatigued. probably does not help we had 8 patients yesterday playing charge and orientating a 3 week RN. She gets 12 weeks. She did well considering i was pushing her to get patients discharged. We had 6 all day, sent home 4 and got back 4 to end at 6. Suicidal patient needed a sitter so no aide last 4 hours and we had 5 admissions those hours. It was me, the orientee, and a new RN off orientation 3 weeks.
Got home 09:30 pm. Feel like i live alone except for the occasional messes. Mike is always asleep when i get home since it is always late now. He goes downstairs once up and walks, then bugs out for work. He goes to his house every weekend. I want to plan some camping time whether alone or not. I need a fire. I hope the wind cooperates. Please do not feel i am complaining. I am just tired and rightfully so. Good luck with WI. Later !
Good morning!! Happy Spring!! It's 59 and we're going for our walk after our bagels.
I'm working on two fisherman's afghan's at once for some odd reason not even known by me.
They are both green but two different shades. They are for two brothers, my granddaughter Chrissy's girlfriends children.
They will be ready way before next Christmas.
Have a great day.
Disappointed this morning. Yesterday I was down but as of this morning I'm back up to being the same as last week. It's my fault since my eating the last 2 days has not been good. Now I have to get back on track I have had a loss 4 weeks in a row at TOPS but 2 days caught me.
Nice loss Tessa! You lost what I wanted to lose LOL
But at least I did lose this morning. Not much but I will take it as better than a gain for sure!
phew, back to my lowest weight after 2 gains so that's good, need to keep it up now.
My eating has been mostly on track this week and I've moved a lot (for various reasons) though I doubt that has helped the weight (but it does help my mind set)
My eating plan has loads of veggies and fruit so that has been easy and I always cook myself.
I can end up sitting for too long so will try to set a reminder to move this week.
Have had a great week of eating well.
Got groceries this afternoon. Starting to par down for the future travels. So it's going to be more frequent trips.
Had a great day today and this next week will be a busy one for us.
Good luck to all on WI tomorrow.
Eileen
Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.
Try to be all that you can be. Work at it a day at a time.
