No, not a problem in a heated pool. But the intense movement from swimming should keep you warm anyway. And if you do start getting cold, it's probably a sign that it's time to stop. Your body isn't regulating itself anymore, meaning it's getting tired.

Thanks for the responses. How do you deal with getting cold staying in the water so long? Or perhaps not a problem in a heated pool?

I am a Learn to Swim instructor so I get to swim for at least two hours/5 days a week. When I leave the pool I feel like I've just been in heaven!

I think all activity is good for you. Better consistency with a short workout than holding out for a marathon, in my experience. My usual swim is half mile to a mile depending on my stroke, time constraints, and energy level. They all make me feel great!!!

I'm a pool swimmer, usually 45 minutes to an hour. Sometimes I can go up to two hours if I'm doing a long distance workout. I can do about 3000 yards in an hour. 5000 is my max. I have never believed the calories burned numbers in Spark are accurate, for any workout. You can google other calorie burn websites and see what they say.

Hi. I'm mainly a runner but also swim (ocean) 4-5 days a week for about 30 minutes. I'm curious about how long/far others are swimming? Is there a minimum workout length to get a health benefit? According to Spark, I only burn about 150 calories in 30 minutes.
