Dee, yes doing 3 at once means likely you will have to redo the recipe in at least one of them. The goal... to learn how to create recipes so they fit for you, the goal initially is not to actually do the habit. We have to learn the skill of creating habits before we can create new habits/behavior. So our accomplishing our habits will get better as we practice more and get better at the skill of creating habits.

I have to add that I did the tiny habits 5 day free course twice and still didn't really learn how to fine tune my recipes. I feel I can do that better now but I need to practice it a bunch.

Tiny Habits calls habits while you are waiting for something else Meanwhile habits... a habit to do while you are waiting for something else. E.G. A recipe might be ... After I get into the line at at the store, I will....

To find Anchors, BJ thinks that Action Prompts are the best. Action Prompts are a person's existing routines (chapter 4 teaches prompts). BJ says just think of all the things you do each day. Get out of bed, walk into the kitchen, open the fridge, go to the bathroom, put coffee into my mug, etc. BJ feels we have a lot of these in our morning routines but less as the day goes on though they are there throughout the day.

Yes, when routines changed... anchors change. If I am leaving the house I take a shower, put together a lunch, fill my water bottle, take my supplements, prepare my breakfast, brush my hair, brush my teeth etc. Now... some of these don't get done for hours after I wake up.
So you may have habits (or at least different anchors for the habits) for week days vs weekends, days you drive to work vs days you work at home, when you are on vacation vs when you are at home. BJ says to have them as a new habit (e.g. a separate recipe card). You might have: After I put my breakfast dishes into the sink I will prepare my lunch - to be used on days when you are leaving the house and taking your lunch with you.
You might have: After I notice I am hungry (or After I notice the clock says it is after 11 am, which ever works best for you), I will prepare my lunch - to be used on days when you are not leaving the house with your lunch.

I wondered why we were working on 3 habits at one time. The author explains that by working on 3 habits at once, you will learn more. Start practicing your new habit. (Don't be too serious or uptight about it. Dive in and have fun.)

I haven't done Focus Mapping in chapter two yet. I haven't done any of the exercises because I'm trying to read the whole book first and then go back and do the exercises.

Finding good anchors right now is tricky because of the stay safe at home guidelines and the change in my routine. I work in an elementary school and we are currently closed.

One anchor that I thought would be fun to use is "Every time I stop at a red light... I will..."
I'm not leaving my home very often so the red lights aren't happening.

One anchor I might use would be "After I turn my laptop on... I will..." because my laptop takes time to warm up.

Another anchor might be "After I turn the burner on for my teapot... I will..." because again there is the wait time for it to heat up.

I'll post more after I've done the exercises, but please feel free to leave comments and thoughts.

I'm up to Chapter 5. Trying to read the whole book before doing any of the exercises.

This is my first thought for a Tiny Habit Recipe

After I dry off from the shower -- I will put on face lotion.

I'm 60 years old and really need to moisturize my skin. I do it sometimes, but not every day.
