Somehow I missed this thread previously... thanks for all of the great shares. I haven't had time to watch them all, but I've bookmarked them for future reference. Once I've watched I'll come back! I'm very interested in this TED talk!

P.S. Fasting is a HUGE part of my own approach to wellness... pretty sure that had it always been so, I never would have developed a weight problem or various health issues in the first place.

Dr. Jason Fung: "Holy consensus, Batman. With so many 'experts' from Michelle Obama to the USDA to virtually all of the medical professionals (including doctors and dieticians) agreeing that 'Eat Less, Move More' is the way to go, you might think that it is 100% unquestionably true. But here's a queer thought... if we all agree that we know the cure for obesity, and we've spent billions on educations and programs - why are we getting fatter? In other words, why does this 'cure' suck so bad?

This gentleman is who got me started on doing Intermittent Fasting. He has a YouTube channel, where he shares lots of good info about how not to worry about it harming you (there is a lot of emotional junk to work through and clear in order to fast regularly for most people). He recommends doing this style of fasting as shown in the chart above.. I tried this. It didn't work for me. I did it six months and didn't see the kind of benefit I'm getting from my current pattern of fasting--however, a lot of folks who have diabetes told me this works best for them so I thought I would share it.

Thought i would start a thread here for posting informational videos we've all found helpful. This particular video is LONG (need a time to sit and listen, or its one of those where you can get things done while listening --i gave it a listen while doing my walking) but this video's summary is really good. It pulls together in one place a lot of information about hormones and other benefits.

So enjoyed reviewing these IF study benefits. Video and study content like this helps me to keep going when odd circumstances come up I wasn't planning on encountering.

This chart is discussed in this video which explains it in greater detail.
