After an initial quick loss, I have now hit a plateau

Due in someways by varying my eating pattern
Whilst I am trying to follow 22 + 2 on occasions I may break my fast period with a row of dark chocolate or a drink of tomato juice.
It really is necessary to have a minimum 12 hour break from eating for the body to go into a fat-burning cycle.
For you prediabetics out there this also helps increase insulin sensitivity and stabilise blood glucose levels.
I in no way follow the very low levels of calories on the low days of alternate fasting.
My calorie range tends to vary between 1400 and 1800+ of a day.

Years ago when I was working I found that I could lose several kilos in a few days by just having 1 meal a day.
My eating habits back then were atrocious, because it was also very easy to include frequent bouts of fast food.

For many years I have struggled with my weight and in the past was predominantly calorie-based.

It is only in recent times with research of different health related articles that I have been able to establish that eating patterns were important

I always knew from the time of when I was a child that in times of food rationing , health and life expectancy went up.

My brother and sister inlaws both had good success with the 5 + 2 diet when it was released.

I had no success sticking to this and only ever lost weight when I was on a VLCD diet(very low calorie diet) Even with this I was never able to stick with this for a long period.

Now I found this IF is a convenient way of eating and also makes it very easy to track food consumption compared with if someone was grazing all day.

Didnít reach my goal last month of losing 8-10 pounds but I did lose 5.6 that good.
My goal for April is 10-12 pounds . I should be able to do this Iím able to go back to the gym now. So Iím working out again. emoticon emoticon

Down 3.4 pounds. Up and down month but for the month I lost 5.4 pounds didnít reach my goal of 8-10 pounds. Got to keep moving forward slow and steady. Got to stay focused.and keep moving forward

The good news is my new scales give a rock-solid weight with no jumping around
The bad news is that according to my new scales I am 182.7 kg(my old scales ~ 174kg)
Both considerably more heavy than yeasterdays weighin would indicate.

The new scales are a CAMRY brand and designed to work in my weight range ~200kg, so I am at least confident with my new weight.
Some other scales only go up to 120, 150 or 180 kg

What this means however, is that I will need to get serious and redouble my weightloss efforts.

I am thinking of intermitent fasting in the first instance

on a recent blog
a friend suggested using a 4day average to compensate for my erratic scale my weights now are
1/Jan 370.3 pounds
15/Jan 377.5 pounds
29/Jan 372.9 pounds
13/feb 369.4 pounds
next average will be 27/feb

Didnít reach my goal this month and Iím up a pound from last Saturday. Could be water weight went to CHFClinic and had to get and Lasik IV because I was retaining water. It did get me down because I was up 5 pound 2 days ago. But Iím going to keep moving foward.

January 27th 292.6 pounds down 3.8 my goal for this month was to lose 8-10 pounds or be at

296.4 Up 2.2 pounds, not happy about it so I started back exercising today and joined two daily challenges and a monthly challenge also. Trying to stay the course. I know I can do it just got to stay focus and keep it moving!!!

Just joined this group... I have been a member of sparkpeople for YEARS, but have not been active for a while... trying to join back in... I'm 43 and have Type 2 diabetes... I'm doing Keto as a way of eating now to get my diabetes reversed and hopefully lose weight... I'm about 120 lbs over weight... So here are my stats:

January 6, 2018: 243.2 lbs
1-13-2018: Scales broke and couldn't weigh
1-20-2018 250 lbs - bought new scales that read a little diff. Don't think I've gained any, but will start going by these new scales (even though I DON'T LIKE the #, lol)
