Just checking in from Pendleton, Oregon.

We are finally above freezing and the snow is almost gone - not sure how much we had - probably 3 or 4 inches.

Had a great Christmas with Daughter Kathi and her family. Dinner was different this year - instead of the usual turkey with Eric's Mom's dressing (oh, so good) we had ham and a very tasty Waldorf Salad!! And, of course, we all ate way too much.

Christmas is a hard time for me - 3 years ago lost my oldest Son, Greg, to cancer - 2 days after Christmas. He was 51. Then 2 years ago lost my Sister, Linda, to cancer - just after Christmas.

But, life goes on - and I do know that God truly works all things for our best and His Glory!!

Please add me to the Rookies. I read about the 5% challenge in the blogs and decided I needed the challenge! I am 63 and retired, and I have time to devote to getting healthy. I have lost a little over twenty pounds since May, and my goal each year is to lose 10-15% of my weight.

I'd like to join the team please. I've been AWOL on Spark People for a few years and need to get back in the saddle again! Used to be on the Teddy Bear team for a few seasons in 2011-2012. So not totally a rookie, but definitely waaaay out of practice! ;)

If Rookie team is full... and there's room with the Teddy Bears. I'd be happy to be there again!
