Ha, so here we go guys!

Today's topic:

What to do with the 8th day of the week: "Someday".

Today I'm sharing a mental trick that just got me through getting back on track (and feeling satisfied by a healthy dinner, to boot).

Many of us have a pretty clear idea and language for our goals and the behaviors we want to model in our eating and exercise. I think where we tend to get stuck is in integrating these ideas into our normal thoughts in a way that feels good. Sometimes they can turn into "I should be doing...", which feels downright bad.

Next time you are engaged in an activity that is new (a workout, a healthy dinner), start a little mental dialogue with yourself about what's going on. Now here's the key; be picky with the words you use to have this talk with yourself. My suggestion? Start thinking about what you would like to be doing in this situation "someday". Pretty clear, right? "Someday I would like to be getting ready to go to the gym at this hour". "Someday I will eat veggies at dinner regularly". Okay, feels pretty good right? Well, let's make it feel better...turn "someday" into "today". Remind yourself of your goals and that yes, you can start right now! There's no reason to take a rain check on living the life you would be proud of. Just invision your ideal evening. It feels comfortable and familiar to say "someday I will...", so I do want you to start there. There's also a kind of energy behind using our imaginations to make plans and dreams. This is the same energy that went behind "when I grow up..." when we were kids. Now I'd like you to take it to the next level. Simply start that sentence over and say the words, "today I will..." See how it feels? That's the energy you need to make it to your goals in the first place. Tap into the power that fuels your desires and transform it into the power to make the choices you really want right now!

Have a great week everyone!

Let's build those good habits!
