Here is how the challenge will work....

FIRST : The "Weight Loss Challenge" emoticon :

In the next 4 weeks, we will each try to lose 4 pounds. One pound per week..should be doable right!!?? We're trying to do this for ourselves, but at the same time, encouraging each other to hit that goal as well!!

The SECOND part of this challenge helps support the weight loss:

Since we all need to be moving our bodies more and eating healthy to lose the weight, I thought we might as well make it fun! So we will do a "Virtual Road Trip" emoticon emoticon

For example:

** Each mile you walk/jog/run = 1 actual mile

** Count your FitBit mileage,or pedometer or whatever method you use to track mileage...all movement COUNTS!! The goal is to move our bodies more, and TRACKING helps us to remember to park farther away,,take stairs etc...so, ALL movement is good and MATTERS!!

ALSO.....

** Each -10 min's- you work out (strength training, workout videos, a class, swimming, biking, hiking, yard work, cleaning, anything you'd normally log in Spark as fitness)

= 1 actual mile

BONUS: Each 1/2 LB you lose = 5 bonus miles
Each 1 LB you lose = 10 bonus miles

AND THIRDLY:

You can accumulate extra credit miles by participating in our World Wide Trivia!! This was a lot of fun during our last trek...as we move across the globe we are also getting a geography and culture education!! (So we will be SMART & SEXY!!) emoticon

How this works: for every picture, fun fact or trivia you can dig up and post regarding the area we are in, you will receive 1 extra credit mile emoticon

A typical day might look like this:

Walked 2 miles = 2 miles

Did a 30 minute workout video = 3 miles

And you happen to lose 1/2 that day = 5 miles

And you posted a picture of the area we are currently in = 1 mile

So for that day you would of covered 11 virtual miles!

I have set up a template below, that everyone can copy and paste into their own post, and then edit/update it every day!

I will keep track of all the team mileage. EACH PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR UPDATING THEIR OWN POSTS!! I will update our "MAP" with our mileage & weight loss once per week,(Please record your weight at least once per week, whatever day you’d like!)

I will UPDATE once a week....

It will be IMPORTANT for everyone to participate AND keep their posts up to date, even if you don't do anything, just make a note of that!! It's OK...we will all have these days!! emoticon

The road trip is a team challenge,,,the more we ALL move our bodies the more distance we can travel. Our goal would be to cover the whole distance in 4 weeks!! I think it'll be fun to see if we can do it!!
