Doing better with diet and even better with my exercise now with the weather warming up. I've not only talked my manager into going for walks with me for our 3 0'clock coffee break but I now walk to and from work in the morning, at lunchtime and at quitting time.

Sorry I have been out of pocket. I thought I would be better with this; but, life happens. I was sick for a week or more then buckled down on income tax. Almost through but still have some more to do. Hope to finish tomorrow.

Getting back on track with my steps. I am still short of goal but doing a few more each day. Won't be long until I am back where I was.

Nutrition is ok.

I got my afternoon walk in today!It's gorgeous out there today! So while the rest of them sat on their lorels I was out the door and down the street for 20 minutes! But man are my lungs out of shale!
I can't wit until my friend gets home from BC Then we want to start walking at leas a half hour a day weather permitting!

Congratulations on an emoticon day. You are going to have that terrific Tuesday.

As for me, I am plugging along. Made 10,185 steps yesterday and am already up to 3187 today. At least I am moving in the right direction.

Lunch was healthy … mashed cauliflower and an English pea salad. Very tasty.

Well I undone myself at work today. I managed to put in just over 3,000

Diet was right on target. Made myself a nice big salad and added chicken pieces to it. Took me a good half hour to eat it and it kept me full right up until dinner!

Need to do my toning yet.

Monday is almost at an end. I have 6000 steps in at this point and hope to have more before bedtime. Really need to make my 10000 but some days it seems almost impossible.

Nutrition was good. In my calorie and carbs, the numbers are good. I am under on almost all counts so will be good at the end of the day.

Keep up the good work and let's make this week count.

Yes! I too had a great weekend. On target with both exercise and diet and an increase in steps because I was more active as I always am on weekends.
I also forgot what this first six weeks with Furhman does....clean out! I think that's all I should have to say about that LOL

Hi to all my friends and supporters on this challenge. I am checking in on day 1 and plan to keep this going daily. Call me on it if I forget.

My plan is to walk daily. My goal is 10,000 steps but because of knee problems, I am not able to do this every day. I will do as much as I can every day.

On nutrition, I plan to stay within my calorie and carb limits each day. I'll let you know how this goes as the month progresses.

Let's rock this challenge!!!

And we are day 1!

2 cups apple cider vinegar water

Breakfast smoothie ready - almond silk unsweetened, small banana, 7 pineapple chunks, 2 cups spinach kale mix, ginger and cinnamon. Makes 16 oz.

Lunch a 6 cup salad Romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, 2 Tbsp mixed nuts and seeds, 1 Tbsp fat free poppyseed dressing

Dinner steamed vegetables stir-fry 6 cups

This will pretty much be my baseline.

My exercise will be walking, stepper for 20 minutes 5 days a week in the evenings, My mornings I do my upper toning one day and lower toning the next. Today I started with upper doing wall push-ups

My game plan will of course be to follow Dr Furhman's first 6 weeks cutting out sugars, and the bad fats, Essentially it's eating a vegetarian diet for those first 6 weeks and increasing my water intake to 6-8 glasses.

My exercise is continuing my walking using my stepper for 20 minutes a day and my toning every other day. Now that the weather is warmer and co-operating I've also been using my afternoon breaks at work to go for a 15 minute walk.

And that's me. If there is any changes in my game plan along the way I will keep you posted.

During the week having to sit behind a desk, yes I get up and move and walk but I never reach any higher than between 4-5,000 steps. Weekends I hit my target of 10,000 steps/day because I'm constantly on the move.

Walked 7065 steps; piano for 60 minutes; housework (hate it but it has to be done and there will be more tomorrow); Jumpstart you workout for 30 minutes. My distance was 2.57 miles.

I will be so glad when I can do things without my knee hurting. There are times I just can't do it but I promise and will commit to doing the best I can.

I'm continuing to exercise every day. I now do 100 planks, 10 minutes on my stair climber and 30 squats.
Now, I have a FitBit to count my steps, keep track of my blood pressure and cholesterol.
So far I've managed at leas 5000 steps a day or better. today its 5205

Oh my, it's been this long? I have been faithfully doing my morning routine of planks bands and squats. I've now increased each as well. I'm now doing 75 planks, 75 bands, and 30 squats

I have indeed.
Have now increased my standing planks to 60 and my chair squats to 30.
I had to change my wall squats to chair squats because of the havoc they were causing to my knees. Carrying too much weight as of yet.

Yesterday's exercise was shovelling snow and walking! Changed it up. This morning it's right back to planks and squats.

Planks and squats are done! I've now increased planks to 50 and squats to 15! Feeling pretty darn awesome!

I did exercise today. My step count is between 7 and 8 thousand steps at this point. Not at goal but still a nice amount.

I am on a decluttering challenge for the Shooting Stars team. The challenge is 10 minutes; well...I did better than that. I spent at least 3 hours and made good progress. I have to keep the momentum going so I can have an organized home office space.

I had planks and bridges plus in the Jumpstart your Workout challenge. These are getting easier. I keep repeating this challenge. emoticon
Also did a Coach Nicole 28 day Boot Camp video (Cardio Burst), played the piano for 60 minutes on some really hard music that used a lot of energy; housekeeping chores, etc.

Good morning!

I hope the news is good news as well.

We have a vision centre here in Wainwright that now does an entirely different testing for the eyes. So, the next eye appointment I need to make next year I'm seriously considering giving them a try.

Today I finish up with folding a last load of clothes in the dryer and scrubbing down the bathroom; walls ceiling and fixtures, plus decluttering the linen closet and drawers. I've had my bone broth/hemp coffee, so I'd best get to it.

I didn't feel well today so did not do too much. It was kind of a downer when the retina specialist told me that I still had some problems. The good news is that he is going to watch it for a while longer and then decide if surgery is needed.

Let's hope the waiting pays off.

That is what I have been doing on the Jumpstart your Workouts. I do the one that are either standing or chair exercises. Also continue walking but not quite as much. The floor exercises are just too hard.

Exercise is on the backburner now as my knee is bothering me. I am getting about 5000 steps as opposed to 15,000. I thought I would do more today but my knee said it needed more rest. That may be just an excuse it is giving me. I can walk a little then it starts hurting.

Alright! Back to the norm.

Up at my usual time
Put in 15 minutes on the step climber, did 30 biceps and 45 tricep with my wonder arms. Walked to and from work morning and noon. Just completed 30 more minutes on the step climber.

The weekend my exercise was my yards, raking, mowing, digging weeding, household cleaning and laundry.

Well, today I'm upping my game.
I've had enough! I've reached my limit. This is the last straw!
Even though I had increased my physical exercise from practically siltch to walking to and from work 3 times a day, 5 days a week and now using my friend's recumbent bike for half an hour after work, and watching what I eat, after a week I have had no changes. SO, I've added a half hour a day on my step climber.

Starting today this is my daily routine.

Morning,
30 minutes on step climber
30 bicep reps
30 tricep reps
15 armband pulls

Then Starting Monday - Friday

Morning,
30 minutes on step climber
30 bicep reps
30 tricep reps
15 armband pulls

Walk to work

Noon
walk home, walk to work

Evening
Walk home, 30 minutes on the recumbent bike.

Oh, trust me sleep is essential! With all this outdoor and fresh air, I've been sleeping like I'm in a coma!

Yesterday regardless of the heat I did things at intervals. I still didn't quite accomplish everything because I just ran out of steam because of the humidity. I did, however, get all the flowerbeds weeded and the garden cleaned out, the lawns cut, trees pruned, and everything watered.
So sufficient physical exercise for sure. Even with intervals I still managed at least four hours of activity.

A little slower. Still catching up on sleep. I slept yesterday afternoon and still slept late this morning. Guess Bible School took more out of me than I realized.

Today started out active from the start. Vacation Bible School started today. I was on the job early up and down stairs, getting things together, fixing decorations that had broke lose from their hanging positions, making sure registration materials were in place. It was a wonderful day and I had 5,000 steps before I came home from church. Needless to say, as I didn't sleep last night as I was so wound up with everything, I came home, ate a barbecue sandwich and went to sleep. Woke up about 6:10 and am on the move again. Stopped to track but ready to go finish and try to get closer to goal.

75 bicep and 75 tricep done and my 1 set of 15 using the band doc gave me to strengthen my upper back muscles., plus walked to work.

75 bicep and 75 tricep done and my 1 set of 15 using the band doc gave me to strengthen my upper back muscles. Now, whatever other physical exercises I get will be what I do finishing up outdoors and the housework to finish after that.

Already this morning, up at my usual time and out the door. Manually moved 15 4 x 8 sheets of lattice from the driveway to the back of the house 2 at a time. `8 trips took me 20 minutes. With that physical exercise, I don't need to do my stepper or my wonder arms this morning.
Still, need to do my rubber band for my back yet.

Yeah well, I did walk to work and back home again at noon but ended up taking the car back in the afternoon because I had to take Walt his lunch. He was on a service call and couldn't get home for lunch. So what I did was as soon as I got home I got the lawnmower out and cut all the grass. So it more than made up for it.

Oh yeah, Guess what I did! I snapped the 35lb band on my Wonderarm! LOL
I use this faithfully every morning and do 3 sets of 15 for the 2 positions right now. So I had to revert back to the 25 lb until my new bands get here Monday or Tuesday!

And yes, trust me it's working I love the burn!

I still continue walking to work every day. So far that's turned out to be 4 days out of 5 and only because the one day has been too cold damp and raining. Need to get me an umbrella!

Yesterday - Still up at the crack of dawn,
I have the laundry started, and the kitchen cleaned up from the night before, showered and headed out the door to Stettler for groceries and was back before lunch.
Unloaded the groceries got the perishables put away, and headed for the greenhouse for my hanging baskets, tomato plants and strawberries and potting earth.
Took me all of a half hour. Back to the house, made breakfast and headed out the door! The next four hours I took apart the winter shelter I had made for the cats without homes, put everything away for next winter, dug, raked and turned over the earth in the flowerbeds and garden, filled my planters with the potting soil, and planted tulips, lilies, crocus and strawberries.
Now I've done 3 loads of laundry, had a hot shower, BBQued Walt 2 burgers and I'm having a sweet kale salad with tomatoes, red onion, nuts and seeds.
If the weather is as nice tomorrow as it was today I should be able to finish up my weekend cleaning and get my potatoes planted too!
As you can see I've stepped up my physical activity!

Well, I did it! I've started walking to and from work as much as the weather will allow.
Day 1 - morning to work, 15 minutes
-walked back to work after lunch-30 minutes and now home after work 15 minutes.
One full hour today!

Good morning!
We had snow last night so first thing exercise! I shoveled the walks! Next while the adrenaline was still up I hit the stepper running for 20 minutes Now I'll have my fruit and vegetable smoothie for breakfast and tie into what remains to be done from yesterday. Plus I'm on the clock! We have an electrician coming over to wire the transfer box to the main box so that we have power to the generator when the power shuts off or goes out for hours like it has a tenancy to do during the winter months with the heavy frosts on the power lines.

I went browsing on our local buy and sell and found an apartment sized stepper for 15.00! Picked it up yesterday! Have already been on it last night and this morning.

Did you resolve to get healthy in 2017? Sure you have. We all have or we wouldn't be here....yet again, still.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have that promise finally fulfilled and ensure that we never have to do this all over again?
By working together we can help each other meet those life-enhancing goals.

If we resolve to do anything this year let's resolve to achieve our goals. In sharing our journey we can make this the year every one of us overcome troubling food habits and transforms our health.

Starting January 9 those that choose to participate will opt in and post their exercise; what they did and for what length of time. Then once a week from there on in

This year each of us myself included, who are seriously dead set with a dedicated commitment to turning their lives around 360 degrees, making those life-changing choices in lifestyle, health and diet and finally wanting, needing to reach that ultimate goal...those are the people that will be here.
