Weekly weigh in…how much did you lose this week? : 217.6 - Unfortunately, I gained 7.3 pounds this week. Even though I am walking and exercising, my eating habits are not the greatest. In addition, I have a water weight and swollen feet/ankles that contribute to the weight gain!

ENDING WEIGHT!!! …How much did you lose during our 5% Challenge? : I only lost 1 pound since I started this challenge. Honestly, my exercise was amazing and on point, but my eating habits was out of control. I can honestly say I learned a lot about being an emotional eater during this experience. Thanks so much for the opportunity.

COMMENT - tracked food all week! Even the ugly 2000 calorie days. UGH. Didn't plan meals at all. Hence, the mega calorie ice cream days. Being consistent in tiny steps building habit of tracking again is actually quite easy with way I have foods in SP food tracker.

Week 7 Recap: I'm still really restricting calories - it's paying off but, Damn! It's hard. Especially on the weekends. I overdrew my calorie check book on Saturday. emoticon I've decided that my overdraft fee emoticon will be to hit 20K steps at least on one day this week. I'm still really struggling with my attitude lately. I don't like being a negative person and it seems that is exactly where I'm living lately. I'm really trying hard not to let that spill over again this week. It's getting really close to the wedding and time is getting short. This week I will make my final decision on the dress I plan on wearing. Wish me luck! emoticon I have one good solid week left that I know I can meet my goals -- the following week I'll be traveling for work and that is always difficult to stay on track. Week Six Recap: This was seriously one of the most difficult weeks I've had in a long while but it's also one of the most successful. It has been a seriously trying week at work in addition some family drama. I have been an emotional wreck over what I interpreted as very unfair and hurtful treatment. In the past I would have let this completely derail me. I would have let my desire to wallow in self-pity keep me from working out or paying attention to my diet. Not this time! The success here is that I didn't let the actions of others keep me from my goals. I pushed through working out and making good food choices when I really didn't feel like it. In the long run it has been the best medicine to heal my hurt. I'm not fully over it yet, but I'm getting better. It's definitely a NSV!

I've also learned this week that it is going to be physically impossible for me to add a 4th strength work and maintain my current calorie level. I honestly don't have the physical capacity to do it. So, I'm going to stay with my currently calorie level and 3 strength workouts per week. I'm going to keep pushing for 12K steps a day and see where this takes me. I'm down a pound this week so we'll see if I can maintain this level through the end of this challenge and then re-evaluate where I'm at.

Week 2 Recap: Finally some success on the scale!! It feels good to be getting back into a regular exercise routine. I did miss my strength workout on Friday. I did mostly well with my eating but Friday seemed to be a bad day all around. I'm such and emotional eater and Friday, after some family "stuff, I caved in and a DQ Blizzard happened. Talk about a calorie bomb! The good news is that I got right back on the wagon and didn't let the binge continue through the weekend. The weekends are my weakness anyway and it would have been easy to say "eff this!" I almost cracked again on Sunday but I tried on the top I want to wear to my son's wedding in a few weeks instead. Hello Reality Check! It actually worked out to be a good plan and it paid off this morning on the scale! Here is to another week of hard work and progress! Make it a great one ladies!

My week in review: Overall, I think I had a pretty good week! I managed to get in all my planned workouts. That is the first time in a long while that I haven't missed a day! My eating was great during the week but kind of fell apart on the weekend. It wasn't horrible, but my calorie range was much higher than ideal. I need to get better about planning my eating on the weekends. I also had a beer this weekend. I haven't done that in ages. We spent the weekend working on the fences and it sure felt nice to sit in the sunshine and enjoy a nice beer. My weight for the was up and down all week. Early on I thought I'd been in for a "big" loss but my weekend misadventures in the kitchen caught up with me. The good news is that I didn't let the scale rule my day today. I proceeded with my workout and I'm off to a good start for week two!

I've managed to get soooo close to my "scream" weight - 200 (term courtesy of ONEKIDSMOM). So it is time to really buckle down and work at getting healthier and losing some weight in the process (and institute a new, lower "scream" weight). 190 would be a good new "scream" weight after I get to my goal for this challenge...

What this challenge showed me is that I need to move more (what a surprise - not...) Lately it seems like a major effort to get up and move - that couldn't be connected to my winter weight gain could it? LOL

I also need to make better food choices, but I have known that for a long time.

It's been a great time traveling with all of you - it will be interesting to see where we are going next.

Thanks to our fearless leaders for putting this together and making it interesting. Maybe some of the focus in the next challenge could be on nutritional goals/changes in addition to the fitness challenges.

**Spring into Summer 5% Weight loss Challenge & Virtual Road Trip**

Here is how the challenge will work....

First : emoticon The "5% Weight Loss Challenge" :

In the next 10 weeks, we will each try to lose 5% of our individual total weight. We're trying to do this for ourselves, but at the same time, encouraging each other to hit that 5% loss as well!!

For example: you weigh 200lbs X 5% = 10lb loss!

10lb loss in 10 weeks = 1lb per week...I think this is doable! emoticon

The second part of this challenge helps support the 5% weight loss:

Since we all need to be moving our bodies more and eating healthy to lose the weight, I thought we might as well make it fun! So we will do a "Virtual Road Trip" to each challenge members hometown or state! emoticon

For example:

** Each mile you walk/jog/run = 1 actual mile

** And to answer the question of whether or not to count your FitBit mileage, I say…YES, we count all movement!! The goal is to move our bodies more, and the FitBit helps us to remember to park farther away,,take stairs etc...so, ALL movement is good and MATTERS!! Plus your walk or run would be included in that daily total anyway!! emoticon

** Each -10 min's- you work out (strength training, workout videos, a class, swimming, biking, hiking, yard work, cleaning, anything you'd normally log in Spark as fitness)
= 1 actual mile emoticon

** Each pound you lose = 50 miles!

** (I'll be adding bonus miles challenges as we go…stay tuned!) emoticon

A typical day might look like this:

Walked 2 miles = 2 miles

Did a 30 minute workout video = 3 miles

And you happen to lose 1lb that day = 50 miles

So for that day you would of covered 55 virtual miles!

I have set up a template below, that everyone can copy and paste into their own post, and then edit/update it every day!

I will keep track of all the team mileage. Each person is responsible for updating their own post. I will update our "MAP" emoticon with our mileage & weight loss once per week,(Please record your weight at least once per week, whatever day you’d like!)

I’m thinking I will UPDATE once a week on Sunday or Monday evening.

It will be IMPORTANT for everyone to participate AND keep their posts up to date, even if you don't do anything, just make a note of that!! emoticon

The road trip is a team challenge,,,the more we ALL move our bodies the more distance we can travel. Our goal would be to cover the whole distance in 10 weeks!! I think it'll be fun to see if we can do it!!
