I try to plan ahead a little too, but with three teenagers it's next to impossible to find time to use the bathroom some days! Let alone plan anything! LOL

But i think that's a different story putting everyone else before me!

Great to see you finding your way around!! emoticon

I meal prep all 3 meals and 2- 3 snacks three maybe four days in advance. I try to keep my protein intake level up because it really helps with my cravings. And I don't play around with trigger foods ( sugar, high carbs and processed foods) even if it's on cheat days only, because this what set me up for failure in the 1st place. I can't handle trigger foods at this moment it's too early in my journey.

Hi All,

When I am doing low carb really well, after 4 days my cravings stop. If I am not doing low carb well, oh my goodness. I take 2-3 green coffee bean pills with sveltol and wait 30 min before I indulge.Yikes

Allow light into your heart and home everyday.

I Need to plan my meals like that maybe, but it is so hard when i am constantly on the go!
I spread myself way to thin (unfortunately only figuratively) taking care of everyone else and i get whats left!
I have been doing good on my calories and made day two of water so YAY me!
I have realized i need to take a calcium supplement that's on my shopping list, i am way under in calcium every day cause i don't drink milk at all, and rarely eat yogurt or cottage cheese!

IN the end we have to LIVE! Some days are better than others and as long as we don't totally derail and beat ourselves up over it we CAN do this!!
I have faith!!

Great topic! And what a great idea, CIndi!

I have huge issues with compulsive overeating and emotional eating, so my cravings are usually not real hunger, but the desire to find comfort from something that's upsetting me. My cravings are ALWAYS for something that's not healthy.

What I've been doing lately is really examining my cravings. I try to plan my meals for the day in advance so I know that I'll be in my calorie range. I usually don't have room for anything extra, so if I get cravings and my calories are maxed, I ask myself what's going on that's causing me to want food when my nutrition needs are already met. With me, chances are, I'm wanting to eat for "comfort".

I try to plan my meals to include a healthy alternative to the stuff I crave from time to time.

Stuff like Chinese take-out, pizza, subs/hoagies, burgers, fries, chocolate, etc. I have found recipes to make healthy alternatives to the stuff I used to eat that was full of calories, salt, fat, sugar, etc. I make it "legal" and if I have a healthier version of it, I crave it less often.

I will still get fast-food at times. Let's be realistic. I try to make sure I have the calories for what I order, knowing my fat/sodium/sugar values will be over for the day, but accepting that I'm not perfect.

I am just curious how everyone battles the cravings we all get!
I have 3 teenagers in the house so there is always stuff to fix fast or grab on the go for sports practices etc. SO NOT having it in the house is not an option, and even healthier stuff i have been known to go nuts with!

So...
I started giving myself a cheat day. I put a piece of paper on the fridge and every time i REALLY crave something i put it on my list so i don't forget it! As it works out when "cheat day" comes i look at my list and in 3 weeks the only thing i wanted bad enough to actually eat it was the half a pack of small mcdonalds fries!! (which i tracked my calories for)

What works for you ??
