For the most part that's true but with all the deliver options out there it's a food addicts worse nightmare. I can pretty get my drug of choice(food) any time of the day or night. My only hope is discipline and self control!
That is my focus today!

Bread is my ultimate weakness. I would have done the same. The only bread product I can keep in the house without wanting to binge on it are those Sandwich Thins. Otherwise, I'll keep going back to it until it's gone!

All that matters is what you do today.

I used to try to make up for a binge by really restricting what I ate the next day. That led to making me even more miserable.

Now, if I have a binge, I just go back to eating my regular healthy food and stay focused on the present.

I hope you aren't feeling bad about it.

Oh my goodness, I LIVE by that rule, too.

First of all, congratulations for having all that in your house and not eating it. Just reading about it made me want it!

But then, I had to force myself to think about what the (way too delicious) ingredients are, and how they will impact my health.

I have to play mind games with myself like that or I will go crazy with cravings, and I don't want to deal with all of that!!

I have to think about the sugar, salt, and fat. In other words, all the things that TASTE GOOD, but got me where I am today.

If I were in your shoes, I would have to get that out of my house ASAP. Like right this minute because I am not strong enough to resist those cravings when it's right under my nose.

Awhile back my husband was still eating junk while I was trying to eat healthier. He would think nothing of bringing home a cheesesteak and fries (I'm near Philly LOL) while I was sitting here with a salad. Just smelling it made me want to snatch it out of his hands and cram it in my mouth.

Yes, I have issues with food.

And I have already eaten an entire bag of chips/cake/pizza/you name it, with the thought "I just need to get this out of the house." How messed up is that?

SOO, yes, sign me up to the "IF IT AIN'T IN THE HOUSE THEN I CAIN'T EAT IT" CLUB, because I am definitely a member.

For me...this has become and still comes back to being a definite YES!! Last night my church held the repast for a funeral of a former and now current again member's wife. It was late ...around 8pm, so I suggested a light meal because it's too late for heavy stuff and a lot of variety. Plus someone else mentioned we still have to clean up afterward!! So there were friend chicken wings (pause for giving the side eye to aaaaanyone who puts black folks and chicken together in a neg way...lololol...EEEEVERYBODY ...almost...LOOOOVES chicken doggonit! ha.), cole slaw, potato salad, corn pudding, halved kaiser rolls, tossed salad, fat free and regular salad dressings, pop, water, and cakes. I only had a wing, and a small amount...not even a 1/4 cup...of slaw and corn pudding. I had a slice of cake there, a can of pop and the other food on the drive home, and then a couple pieces of cake.

THE PROBLEM IS ALL OF THE LEFTOVER FOOD IS HERE!!! the HIGH calorie per serving potato salad, the not as bad slaw, the corn pudding which i'd have to calculate the cals for but I know the ingredients and know it's a lot of fat involved, and the BLANK BLANK CAKE!!! one and like a lil over 3/4 of a small triple choco cakes, some apple strudel bites, and other stuff i don't know the cal counts for so in my app i'm finding a similar item or same item but different brand name.
TODAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.....was NOT GOOD DAY FOR ME FOR BAKED CARBS.

I...am the poster model.....for "IF IT AIN'T IN THE HOUSE THEN I CAIN'T EAT IT!" I won't get a craving so bad that I will get up and go out to buy it either. If I'm already out, I'm then engaged in a battle of mind vs craving to NOT go to buy whatever it is.

I have to take supplies back to church anyway and the next time I due to be there is Saturday. I don't usually attend Bible Study but it occurs tomorrow evening. I may go and take this food with and buy some chicken to go with it and give some of this food away cuz even if I give my vacuum mouth stomach of a brother of mine who stays downstairs eat a container of slaw, salad, some of the corn pudding, and one of the cakes.....A) that's too much for him to be eating alone and his daily food intake is HORRIBLE enough...he needs to be dieting too but we don't communicate all that often or well, and B) well, hell, A. is enough. too much for one person. I don't want the food to ruin cuz someone paid money for it, doesn't matter how much it cost.

So yeah, blah blah blah....what are your thoughts on the Topic? Do you live by that rule or not?
