*Deep Breath*......
MOVING is sooo hard for me!..........and I SOOO AGREE we just "must". I'm soo very sedentary...
And then...we see things like what Beth (IndyGirl) wrote that you posted here, New Moon---she was bedridden and/or in a wheelchair when she began....
And we have our Tony here on our team---"Boohoobear"---seeing what he works thru is INCREDIBLE!!!....
And even me---when I lost my 164 lbs, I was doing water aerobics...and the nustep, and stationery bike and arm exerciser...
I used to love being in the water-it takes away our weight and I "COULD" move...and feel free and soothed...
There "are" lots of things that make it very difficult for us---but the rewards are also great. And so very needed.
Enough of me for this time...

Ya know....THIS has ALWAYS been "my home" here on Sparkpeople...I started out at 458, and Ive known alot of SPECIAL FOLK here on this forum...seeing what you are doing sounds perfect, New Moon-I think I "am" gonna stay put, even if I "am" in the "threes" now. I certainly still have many of the deeper implications the greater weight often envelops us in...and limitations in how much I can do physically for absolute sure. With the surgery next week, it'll be awhile before I can do much-but I wanna join you in checking this all out. THANK YOU AGAIN New Moon, for what you're putting into this...you've got a joiner;-)

VIDEOS

This video is an 11-minute Seated Cardio from Spark: www.sparkpeople.com/resource/videos-
de
tail.asp?video=38

___

This video is designed for Seniors, but it's perfect for someone my size and physical condition.

The woman leading the group is over 90 years old, so I figure most of us can do this one. You need a chair. She uses a long stick, but you can use a broom, or just do the hand motions without the stick at all.

It's only 6 minutes long.

Please give this a try:

At 400 (more or less) we need to find ways to get some Intentional Activity (aka "exercise") into each day. I know it's hard. It can be unpleasant. Physical and emotional challenges can seem so big we can't conquer them, but we HAVE TO MOVE. Our lives depend on it.

In order to lose weight, we have to burn more calories than we consume. In my case, my metabolism is so slow that even when I lower my daily calories, the weight loss is very slow.

We all know how frustrating it is to eat healthy and see little to no changes on the scale.

BUT, this isn't about what we weigh...this is about our health and our lives.

No matter how difficult it is, or how much we might not like it, we need to find something to do each day to move our bodies more than we are doing right now.

I hope to compile a list of resources here that we find to be helpful, and even better yet, POSSIBLE.

We can do this.

REMEMBER: SAFETY FIRST! If you have any medical conditions please check with your health care professional before starting a new exercise program.
