I have had a goal of jogging around the big block of my neighborhood since I moved in 3 yrs ago. I did it today!!!!! Non-stop. 1.24 miles in 12 minutes. This happened to be the day I unplugged my spark tracker. I kept looking down at my shoe and it was missing. So sad about that but happy about the goal. Fit bit flex 2 tracked correctly at about 179 calories for this exercise. I just have to change it on my fitness page to match the exercise calories and not the calories for the entire day.

I got home yesterday from a 28 day vacation in San Diego, Calif. My daughters house is 1,050 miles from my house. I took my SPAT emoticon with me and wore it the whole time I was gone. Today I got on my computer and my SPAT had kept track of every day that I was gone, emoticon I love my SPAT. Too bad I didn't walk as much as I should have while on vacation/
Oh well, I am home now and will get going on my goals.

Some day I am going to be thin enough to feel comfortable tucking in my shirt and wearing a belt.

I was looking at my spark trophies today and noticed when I first purchased my SAT I was logging between 25000-35000 steps a week. I thought I was doing great. One week in June I didn't even get bronze. I got a "spark in training" medal or something like that.

Now fast forward 4 months. I haven't gone below 70,000 steps a week in a long time. Which means I have changed a habit. I don't even think about "making" my steps anymore it just happens. I need to thank someone for making Spark people, the spark tracker, and putting it on sale earlier this year. Because without it I would still be logging only 30000 steps a week and not even realize it.

I have a 300 ft driveway, sometimes I go to the end and back but lately we've had coyotes and now my brother spotted a bobcat out in back in the woods, I don't go quite as far but do get in my steps.

Hey JANICEONE1, that's a great idea. When I need a few more lights I think it's too dark, but I could handle the driveway with a flashlight

I just opened my weekly tracker report and I've done 1,592 more steps than last week. This tracker does make me do more, when I'm dog tired and look at my tracker and realize that I only need 2-3 more lights, I go outside & walk up & down my driveway in the dark with my flashlight to get the steps in.

I love the cumulative data on my tracker. It just seems so incredible. As of right now, I have over 8 million steps! Actually it's 8,316,884. I'll have to think of something to celebrate when I go over a billion--(just wow!).

Tri-fecta of motivation last weekend!
1. Husband out of town on golf weekend (TV OFF for THREE DAYS, TWO NIGHTS!! Yay for 8 hours of sleep!).
2. Son in-town for a 5K in my neighborhood (his old high school)- I volunteered to hold stop sign to hold traffic at an intersection, walked there and back home.
3. Saturday was Aug. 1: a new beginning!

Yes, the SPAT is a pain to upload, etc., etc. Never mind that. I just did it! Got nearly 10K steps on Saturday and walked to church Sunday to get over 6K (my goal these days is 6K).

Great streak started with August! Feel so happy and hopeful.

A year ago, I started off really pushing to make it to 8,000 steps. Now I get 13,000-15,000 a day and feel so much better.

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

This SPAT is really keeping me moving in more ways than one. I am consistently hitting 10,000-12,000 steps each day, and the scale is moving again. 2 1/2 pounds this week! emoticon

Getting a Spark Tracker was one of the best things I have done. It keeps me motivated. I have completed the June challenge, completed 100,000 steps. What" up for July. Bring it on. I love a challenge.

Just LOVE my tracker!

The ease of use is fantastic. The calorie burn information is conservative and appears to be highly accurate for me. It is often very close to the calorie burn information obtained from my heart rate monitor and I don't need a GPS signal to obtain that information like I do with my GPS watch.

I have religiously used my tracker for the last 16 months and consider it an instrumental part of my success. The calorie burn information coming from my tracker is what I have used to make decisions regarding changes to calorie ranges as I've learned to navigate maintenance. It has not lead me astray and, the monthly challenges have been motivating and fun.

Feeling thankful and grateful to have this resource and tool available to support my goals!

Still going strong since I began using my tracker. I now do Spartan Races and so I have to stay in training every day. The tracker helps me to keep moving. Most the time I am doing more than 10,000 steps per day, but sometimes when I am more focused on my ST than cardio, I may not get up that high. But otherwise I am still holding at around 170 lbs and haven't gained back any excess weight since I got rid of the 15 bounce back lbs last year. Tracking exercise, steps and food intake is the best and healthiest way to stay fit.

My tracker has made a huge difference. I get up and walk a lot more then I used to. I challenge myself to make all the lights light up. When I sit down for the night if they are not all lit up I will get up and walk until they do light.

I bought one each for me and my husband for Valentine's Day. It's working out great for both of us. This evening, he was just short of his daily steps goal, and I had about half of mine to go. So even though it was getting dark, we went for a long walk around the neighborhood--and exceeeded our goals.

I joined SP 3 years ago and their system of tracking food intake and exercise helped me to loose my extra 40 lbs in 8 months. I gained about 15 of it back this last year due to an injury that gave me an excuse to not work out. LOL I then got the tracker about 4 or 5 months back to see if it would help me since my injuries are healed but my motivation was still lacking. I found that I just was not as active as I thought I was. I was only registering around 4000 steps per day. Some days even less. So I made it a point to at least get up to the 6000 to get my glow award. So as I was now totally aware of my movements I got more and more back into my exercise and cardio routines that helped me lose my original weight. 6000 got to be too easy so I upped it to 8000 and now to 10,000. The other day I did nearly 20,000, so I may have to up it again some day. It's amazing how just being aware of one's movements keeps us honest and motivated to keep moving. So KEEP ON TRACKING

My husband and I belong to TOPS-Take off pounds sensibly. In Nov. of last year we got our Tracker and started our walks. In Dec. we learned that the lesson we would be teaching to our 32 TOPS chapters was about a walking program. Wow, we already knew from experience how motivational the Tracker is and that it really works. We have enjoyed sharing this secret with all and with it we have kept our weight down for 5 years in a row. The new motivation tracker sure helped us a lot. I sent the new deal price to all of my chapters so they may get one at the low price, thanks.

Hi, I received my tracker on March 6th and in 4 months I have gone from being obese to overweight. I lost 34 pounds and feeling great. It keeps me going as I try to run 10K most days. My next goal is a BMI of 25 (normal weight for my height) am now at 29.50. So proud of my new found determination. Good luck to everyone on their journey to reach their goals.

Another huge step for me in the healthy direction...received word from my Primary Care Physician that my recent Sleep Study indicated that I no longer have Sleep Apnea. Hooray! No more CPAP machine!!!

Both the Respiratory Therapist and Primary Care Physician have been very complimentary regarding my efforts to improve my health over the last year. My hard work is paying great rewards.

emoticon

...and to think that it all started with a decision last summer to walk 5 days per week because I knew that it would help reduce my stress levels.

I am extremely grateful to my friend and coworker who encouraged me to take this step. Without her encouragement who knows what I would be experiencing today. There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be feeling this good.

Hang in there everyone! The rewards are SO WORTH IT!!!

I claimed yesterday as my *official* entry into maintenance. I am both excited and scared realizing that the odds of maintaining one's weight loss are not good. But, people do it and I have found support and encouragement here at Spark.

emoticon

Got some lab results back and as I suspected my thyroid numbers are off. My medication has been reduced. I am experimenting with determining a healthy and realistic weight goal for myself. Will need to pay particularly close attention to how I am feeling physically. An unhappy thyroid could cloud the issue.

The Spark Activity Tracker has been an instrumental tool for me. Love to see the lights! Have been surprised by how motivating virtual trophies and challenges have been for me. Am so appreciative of the support and encouragement experienced on the Spark Teams. Thanks all!

I am learning a great deal from the At Goal & Maintaining + Transition to Maintenance team. Will continue to work hard at maintaining what I have achieved and learning and growing along the way. Hoping to count myself amongst the successful maintainers for years to come.

I have been walking consistently since I got my SPAT and am feeling so much stronger. An hour walk 6 weeks ago just about did me in, now I'm walking 60+ most days and feeling motivated. The other day, had it not been for my little sidekick (my SPAT) I'd have called my walk quits after only 20 minutes.....so I tapped my SPAT 5 times to see how many lights lit up....hmmm, not enough so I just sucked it up and kept walking. The end result was all the lights lit up (I Sparkled!) and I got in a 75 minute walk in spite of myself!

The hardest part of exercising is getting started.

I am SO impressed with ((Reba)) my SPAT!! I took off my clothes quickly in order to throw them in the laundry. I had her ((still)) attached to my Sports Bra I wore today. She was completely submerged when I found her still attached. I dried her off as best as I could and viola she still works great!! Just as great as the day I opened her up. I originally had a bit (Just a bit) of trouble with my 1st dongle, but this second one works great!! THANK YOU SPARKPEOPLE!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My consistency has improved with the addition of the activity tracker. Because I want to see my tracker information, I've logged in regularly and am using and learning more about what SPARK has on offer.

My knees can't take daily walking on land yet, so I walk at least every other day in the gym's pool. Today another gal walking in the "lazy river" asked me how long I walk. "'Til all my lights go on!" I told her and showed/explained the Spark Activity Tracker I was wearing. She was amazed I wear it right into the pool and said she was going to order one as soon as she got home. At 40+ pounds down, I am finally feeling some relief. When I joined the gym, I came in on crutches (over 2 yrs ago) because my knees were so bad. And I am only in my mid-50s. Now I can walk my steps a couple of days a week on land! My recovery has zoomed since I got the SPAT.

I had a dental appointment last Wednesday and wore my SPAT on my shoe. While I was waiting, I tapped it to see the lights and it drew the attention of the receptionist. I explained about it - she is a professional level walker and told me all about her different endeavors - thinks she has led, taught and people she has mentored. Today I called there to set up an appointment and she remembered me and said she ordered hers! I have not done that well, but this interaction made me feel like I knew the lingo!

After reading the entries here - I am not sure I want to share my success. I reduced the goal to 3,000 - my first day was under 900. After 4 days of getting up and walk everyhour - all my lights went off! When I started back with SparkPeople in March I could not walk to the mailbox and back - I feel successful! I may never get to the number of steps I used to do (three years ago, I walked over 10,000 everyday, but illness, aching bones and age have caught up with me. emoticon

I was so excited to get my spark when it first came out. I faithfully wore it and noticed that to get my 6,000 steps that I had to get a 30 min walk in a day. It made life feel like a video game. I have had back issues for about 4 years, and had an exacerbation back in October 2013 that lead me to therapy for my back. I still wore my tracker and was encouraged by it. I washed it :( and thought it was ruined. My husband said that changing the battery might help. It did! I have been wearing it again for a few weeks. I was released to exercise again 2 weeks ago, and I walked a 5K today. I am looking forward to more progress.

If you don't quit, you win.

I've been so much better about walking, I want to get all of my steps in! It makes me happy to see all the lights light up! Now I walk 2 miles at lunchtime (twice around the office complex) in addition to taking the dog for at least a mile walk daily. I'm feeling better and I was able to up my goal of 5,000 steps to 9,000. I'm going to push that just a bit higher to 10,000, that will really motivate me!

I LOVE my SPAT!! I had to replace the Dongle, but it was well worth it!! I also was getting in 6,000 steps consistently, so I upped my daily steps goal to 10,000. I am still reaching that goal! Thank you SParkpeople for offering these!

One week with my SPAT and I cannot believe I am meeting my steps consistently (at least 6000). I didn't check how many miles 6000 steps are until I walked them for the first time-- glad I didn't know because I would have been convinced I couldn't do that much right away. Now I know I can do it and I do.

16th day with my tracker. When I checked in just now, I had earned my 25 miles already. I set my initial daily steps at 6,000 and I take Sundays off. 7 trips around my Walmart gets me there without counting my other steps and 40 to 50 minutes of fitness activity. I like seeing the people as I walk and I don't need to rely on the weather. emoticon emoticon

I agree that my Spark Tracker has made a huge difference in my activity level! I did lower my steps goal to 4,000 per day. I am now meeting it daily but only if I do some sort of workout. Once I get used to this much activity I will begin increasing my goal. I even went to the gym today! Really pushed myself too!

I always meet my tracker, between walking at home, or the treadmill at work, but one day, after a long day of moving, but not a lot of steps, I sat down exhausted, and mentioned to my teenage son, I did not have the energy today to make all the lights light up. He looked at my spark tracker page which was opened and asked what I was supposed to get. I told him and his reply was, hey your so close only 500 steps to go, come on get up I will walk with you!

I have used a pedometer regularly, but the ease of my tracker (had it two weeks) has made all the difference! I have also set a lofty goal of 9,000 steps a day--whew! I am so much more active now, and love to move around and walk inside and out to increase my minutes. I look at the graphs all the time and challenge myself, knowing that these challenges are making a healthier, happier me. YES! emoticon

I walked 100.95 miles in February thanks to my SPAT tracker. When I tap it and see all the lights lit telling me I am at goal it is the greatest feeling.

Yesterday, I got home and logged into SPARK and saw that I had not achieved my step or mile goal for the day. It was raining out and gloomy and nearing dark, but I put on my hat and coat and out the door I went. I did 3 laps around my condo complex, for 1.5 miles. Before my SPAT, I would not know that I had not made my and I would NOT have gone out in the rain to walk. Because of my SPAT I walked 100 miles in a month.

I love this thing.

My success story is that my Spark Activity Tracker keeps me going and going! It is always a reminder to keep walking. I actually park further away now and loved that I get extra steps. We are in the middle of a catastrophic weather event in Georgia and I am at 6400 steps today just in my house because I want to keep my 10,000 step streak going.

Not there yet but my SAT is keeping me on track!

I love to check to see that I met my goal as a few of my days are much less activity such as driving or desk work so it keeps me up to speed on the slow days.

Also would love to see some EMOTICONS of the Spark Tracker and Glow Getter and Glow Getter Streaker!!

My tracker was a Christmas Gift and its been fun adding steps as a goal and have gone from a goal of 6,000 a day to 8,000 a day . It many not sound like a huge change but for me its huge goal achieved . and I have my Feb goal in place already. what a fun Christmas gift. I also thing it would be fun to know who wins we all work so hard to be one of the lucky winners.

Let me be the first to post on this thread. I have had my SPARK since Nov. 16th and had met each monthly goal since, and then some. But I do believe that somewhere one the team page it should be noted who has won the monthly prizes. It would really be nice to know.
