That sounds wonderful! We missed Liturgy altogether on Pentecost. The ER trip on Saturday evening left us exhausted and not feeling well at all. And I really wanted to see the inside of our new building. It is tough, getting old. We miss a lot more than we did when we were young and healthy.

We just do the kneeling vespers right after liturgy. It turns out that today (Monday) is a holiday here in Greece--Monday of the Holy Spirit--so the kids are off school and we all went to liturgy this morning.

With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

We have Liturgy, followed by an abbreviated fellowship meal, followed by kneeling prayers. This year will be special. We have been meeting in a store front, and our new building is nearly complete. Although it is not ready to move in to, it is close enough to completion that we will be able to go over there for the kneeling prayers!

My husband and I have medical issues, so we don't always make it through everything. I hope we can make it to the kneeling prayers, though.

Aradne, your day sounds exciting!

At my parish on Pentecost in lieu of coffee hour, we have a special picnic at a local park on after Divine Liturgy. Then at 5pm we celebrate the Vespers of Pentecost with the kneeling prayers. I do not ever get to attend this however because the parish where I grew up visits the parish cemetery on Pentecost and prays for the departed there. (I know some parishes do this on St. Thomas Sunday instead.) So I will go there on Pentecost as my parents and grandparents are buried there. Afterward we will have a family dinner with one of my cousins who still lives in that area.

It sounds like a wonderful Pentecost at your parish!

My parish has quite the Sunday planned this week:

Matins, followed by the chrismation of a family of 5, followed by the liturgy, followed by kneeling prayers, followed by a baby shower/celebration of the chrismations! We're calling it the Pentecost Marathon, but I am pretty excited. :)

Do your churches normally do kneeling vespers or kneeling prayers?

Anyone can do it if I can do it!!
