Hi there.
I have never come down the team page to discover this thread.
Because a friend in my Fine Tuning Challenge also belongs to this team, I decided to look around here.
On the topic of adopting second dogs, I am in a quandary.
I share my condo with a tenant and this one was permitted to come with a dog. I have my own maltese/bichon 10 lb boy, and I missed the paired interaction of having an extra pet around. My son's fabulous cat was here last year while he relocated.
Well, Matt brought his black 22 lb pug Oscar here, and he's swell. I have the second dog without the second expenses. Up until now, that is. Matt's lifestyle really prevents him from being a responsible and present dog owner even though he adores Oscar. Matt will be moving on in a matter of months. Without Oscar out of realistic practicality for the dog's welfare to have stable, quality care.
I said I'd adopt him but can't afford it either. And any freedom for me from the dog needs routine is easy to resolve for my little guy, but not when you have two.. I wish there was a foundation to provide funds for Oscar to remain in my permanent care, yet only fostering as a temporary placement might even have that. I don't know. It's a rough decision and I hope by the end of July that I know what I can do.
