Well, I lost .2 and now am 265.0. Not much - I just haven't been able to focus well. I have been tired and stressed on getting a lot of sewing projects done by deadlines. Plus, I was sick and then my husband was sick.

I feel frustrated with my self - just stuck in this yo-yo. Doing some rethinking and planning on starting fresh this Monday. Get back into an exercise routine - I did so well in Jan-Feb.

I took a break from the internet for a few days so I'm late to post -- but I finally lost a pound (woohoo).

I've been reading a bunch of books on "changing your mindset" and I think I might be actually starting to 'get it' as far as weight loss.

I'm not 'dieting' - I'm not sure if I will 'diet' - I'm trying to eat healthfully and moderately. I need to increase my steps (I'm way off track with my step goals this week) I don't have a complete 'answer' as far as what my focus for weight loss will be (if any)

One book that I've found very helpful is Brain Over Binge - it's a different way to look at overeating or emotional eating. It's a bit slow but it was worth reading the beginnings because i identified with a lot of what she experienced, even though I wouldn't call myself a binge eater (except when there's potato chips). It's still a pretty new concept so I can't report any 'results'.

I also have a lot of other 'stuff' in my head from my past that I'm working to identify and clear out and heal from. And just as I find one thing and work it out, something else pops up that I have to "deal with". But God is merciful! When I ask Him to show me what else I need to work on, He not only shows me but provides the solution.

I may not be online much this week as hubby is taking vacation and we want to do some day trips but I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter emoticon

On Wednesday I emoticon to California to judge a couple dog shows.
With airport walking (changing planes/terminals) I exceeded my daily step goal. emoticon emoticon
Walking while judging netted me more than double step goals on Thursday & Friday, emoticon and I met my step goal yesterday.
Unfortunately, I failed to remember to take all my vitamins (even though I had packed them). emoticon

I have found that changing my shoes at least 3 times/day helps when I'm on my feet a lot through the day. (using slightly different inserts in each)

So sorry you have hurting feet, too! My dh deals with planter fasciitis, too. I rub his feet each night to help. My podiatrist says pinched nerves in both of my feet. I waited too long to go to dr so some of this may be permanent. Dr made me trial orthotics to see if it would help. It did so we ordered real orthotic inserts but they don't seem to help as much as the ones she made with gauze and tape. Maybe I need to wear them more. I did find some massages and exercises to try online. Helped some. Also saw that a chiropractor could make adjustments to feet and maybe helpful but I seriously hate people touching my feet so not sure I could handle that! Lol I am so ticklish and currently it hurts to touch my feet. My dr also talked abt shots but I am a chicken! Carrie, I will pray that your feet improve.

I haven't reached my step goal the last couple of days because I have been too sick to walk. but I did do my protein breakfasts.

Jenn - I get the pain in your feet. Do you have pain all the time? What does the doctor say? I am dealing with a Morton's Neuroma in my right foot and planters fasciitis in the left foot. I got some orthotics that the doctor wants me to use. If the Neuroma isn't better in three weeks he will probably do an injection.

Family went on a hike Monday evening and it irritated the pinched nerves in my feet so badly that I barely walked Tues or Wed. Was quite irritated that my dh thought that hike would be ok for me to do. He does not seem to grasp that a gradual increase of distance and elevation change is best for me. I feet hurt so much on Tues that my pulse was elevated...atleast I think that was why.

I have been doing ok with my two main goals - no evening eating and journaling - missed a couple of days journaling because I was focused on having a family birthday. My goal to increase my steps (slowly) is going good too even if it is really small.

but my weight is still the same so I need to be more intentional about eating - the 5:2 plan worked well for me last year (except when I quit doing 5:2 I gained back all the weight I lost} and I need to find a protein other than eggs that I can have for breakfast emoticon

Good Morning! It has been a rough few days. I had a deadline (which I met at 11:20pm Sunday night. A cold "bombed" me out of the blue Sunday afternoon. My head feels like it big balloon.
I rarely get sick, but when I do it hits me hard. I have an extra busy week, so I really need to feel better.

On my goal front I have been doing better with steps and getting at least 5000+ steps a day. My breakfast not so good. I am cooking a egg white scramble now with sausage and asparagus.

emoticon on reaching or exceeding some of your goals, ladies!

Had a busy weekend but did get 30+ minutes of exercise in on Saturday thanks to my dd. We were having a "girls night" and she wanted to watch Mary Poppins Returns so we walked to where the Redbox is to rent it. Then walked to the store later to pick up dinner. Supposed to be sunny today so hoping we can take another walk today after school.

Carrie, I agree! Progress NOT perfection! If only I can remember that for myself.

A-New-Chapter, that's great that your husband has agreed to walk with you! Hope the snow melts away soon. Enjoy your salad at lunch! emoticon I've been having salad with taco meat and salsa on top. Recipe said you could also put some guacamole on it.

Looking back at week one I think I did OK overall -- Pretty good on my journaling goal - missed one day, I think. Not so good on my No Evening Eating goal - I think I will allow myself a piece of fruit or something like that in the evening so if I do want to 'snack' I can do it somewhat healthfully. emoticon I need to make my menu plans for the week.

My weight is up 2 pounds today - 261.2 - not entirely surprised by that - we had meat pies last night from a place we hadn't tried before and nachos for supper the day before. I'm hoping this is just 'sodium' weight - I can gain and lose 3-4 overnight if I have too much sodium

(or maybe I'm just in denial, lol) emoticon

My other goal was to walk 1500 steps each day, which I missed out on at least three or four days - one day because I didn't have my fitbit (I found it at the end of the day when I was sorting out some laundry).

Yesterday we went for a drive with the intention of walking on a little boardwalk about an hour away - but it was still covered in deep snow so we ended up just driving (and sitting) all afternoon. emoticon

Hubby has agreed to walk with me when the sidewalks finally are clear (I don't walk outside alone because I'm afraid of falling). He needs to lose 40-50 pounds so he's going to start working on his weight loss too. We had tried walking together a couple of years ago but we had stopped - I remembered to ask him why we had stopped and he told me it was because I walk too fast for him (me? with a cane?) so I will try to remember to slow down.

I'm adding another goal to the mix - eat salad for lunch 5 days per week - I know I need to get more fibre and I like having salad at noon, it fills me up but it's pretty low-cal. emoticon

I'm also going to try to check in with the team more frequently - even if it's just to say Hello - I appreciate having you here, working on your own journeys with me, side by side. Praying for strength and success for each of you emoticon

Well - didn't have shakes for the last 3 breakfasts, made my step goal on Sunday, but not Saturday.

I am learning it doesn't have to be perfect 100% each day, but two steps forward, one step back, another step forward. Keep plugging away and not get discouraged. emoticon

Jenn, Way to share the duties.
I understand how hard it seems to be to 'find' 10 minutes. I've started doing "counter push-ups" while waiting for a emoticon to brew (it's a Keurig, so it's barely 2 minutes, but as they say "some is better than none".)

Got the steps in today; still working on the vitamins.

Carrie, so glad you met your deadline and got to have grandchildren over! I am sure they helped you get your steps in.

Day 2 I drank my 64+ oz of water but did not get 10 min of excercise. It only takes 10 minutes but didn't do it. Disappointed with myself. I did get all of my dishes washed up. After cooking for family and a dish for a funeral at church I had lots. But now that it's all caught up I told the kids I'll wash breakfast dishes, ds chose lunch, and dd chose dinner dishes. emoticon

Good Morning! Sorry I haven't been around chatting the last couple of days. Monday I had a deadline and yesterday I had 7 of my grandkids.'

I did start the challenge though on Monday

Day 1 reached 1st goal of having a protein shake, but didn't get 5000 steps into the day
Day 2 didn't have a protein shake - but walked 5008 steps.

Let's see how today goes.

emoticon A-New-Chapter!! So how much snow is left where you live? All of our snow is gone. Most snows were followed by rain and didn't last long anyway. emoticon

emoticon emoticon It was such a nice day here yesterday that after my dh got home from work we went to a park and took a mile + walk/hike.

Working on my water this morning. Kids and I hope to go for another walk/hike today. DH is having a long day at work today so we're going to try to go after we finish school. Plus, rain is in the forecast in a day or so which will make the parks too muddy again for walking.

I started the challenge a bit early -- I failed my No Evening Eating yesterday - we had an early supper and then I was starving later - I should have just had a big glass of water or something. But I have done my journaling, a minimum of 10 minutes, each day so far.

I'm also challenging myself to get back to walking - slowly - aiming to get to a mile a day by the end of the month (which isn't very much, but better than nothing).

I have about 10 other things I want to start doing (or stop doing) but I know I'll overload myself if I try to start 'everything' at once.

Hope everybody is having a good day - I'm enjoying some sunshine here today - maybe it will melt some of this snow!

Thank you for doing this! emoticon emoticon

I really need a challenge - and some accountability - my weight has been up and down and up again the last few months. I've gained 10 lbs since last fall just because I haven't been paying attention.

I have to get off this rollercoaster - I've probably lost 200 pounds in the last 10 years - 20 pounds at a time. And then gain back 25. I'm trying to figure out why I sabotage my weight loss. But I can't wait til I have it all figured out - I need to lose the weight to help my knees and hips feel better.

I have been doing well with a goal I set last month, to walk a certain number of steps each day (I'm increasing the number over time) so I think I'm going to choose some easy habits for this challenge, things that I can succeed at and build momentum with. I'm also working through the Beck book so maybe I can 'merge' the goals. I'll come back and fill those in after I think about it for a bit.

But I'm going to start now because I'll forget if I wait two weeks. emoticon

Looks like we have not done a challenge in a while so thought we'd start with a very SIMPLE and EASY one!

This challenge will run for 4 weeks from Monday, March 18 to Monday, April 15.

The Challenge:

emoticon We will divide everyone that signs up into groups of at least 2 people. Check in on one another often (at least 2-3x/week; daily if possible), encourage each other, and be accountable to one another. Commit to pray for one another. Groups will be determined by random draw and posted late Sunday, March 17.

emoticon Choose two habits you want to work on. It can be anything that will help you toward your goal. It can be adding a healthy habit or getting rid of a bad habit.

emoticon Weigh in at the beginning and end of the challenge. I'd encourage you to measure yourself, too. Sometimes the scale doesn't budge but measurements change. You do NOT need to post measurements.

emoticon Choose a Bible verse to help and encourage you through this challenge. Read it when you are discouraged. If you need help choosing one let me know.
