The Mind Connection
by Joyce Meyer
Section 4
How your Thoughts affect Your Walk With God

When our son was young, we did a course called, Preparing For Adolescence .One of the things Dr. Dobson discussed was how teenagers were particularly interested in appearance such as body traits and clothing. The following statement reveals some of the outcome of such thoughts. “The worse loneliness is not being comfortable with yourself” Mark Twain

Isn't it really about self confidence and acceptance from others? We all have such inborn needs to feel secure . The issue is how we go about expressing our personality and finding fulfillment.

Next Joyce brings up the topic of Identity Theft. Many are aware of aware of this common problem. Many individuals now have policies to prevent fraud , and property loss. However, many of us do allow our identity to be still be ripped off, in another manner. How many of us define ourselves by going to an esteemed college, skills, amount of income, cars, travels, homes, friends and family.

The thing about all of these things, is they are constantly changing. We can't control all of this. Not even our health, entirely, at any rate.

When our identity is centered on Christ, we really can't be devalued or worthless. He has continuous passionate love and care for us.He doesn't leave when things get tough and troubled. Not only that, but because He lives in us through the Holy Spirit, we have the resources, beyond all our abilities . Doesn't that release you to go great things because of and through Him ( not just on our own).

Ask yourself, what do you actually think about yourself, deep down inside? Is the way we feel about ourselves based on societies' views, personal experiences, interaction
with others, and other reasons. Is popularity, success, power, lacking? Does having it,( or not), make one a good, happy, peaceful person ?

Would the Lord agree with such assessments? Do we seek Him and inquire how we are thinking and living?

He is the one who creates fruit and contentment in our lives when we listen, and cooperate .
