I had a wonderful family day yesterday - to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary - so it was a "challenge" to be sure...

BUT - I DID IT!!!!!

I had a plan - I stuck TO the plan... I tracked my day before I left the ouse... I didn't eat everything I had tracked...

It felt good to have my sweets and remain in control!!! emoticon

Working very hard to maintain control over sweets, a little better than I was, I need to learn portion control, a small taste not the whole cake!!!!!

This is what I need to learn to do. My trouble is I see cakes and chocolate as treats and 'special' foods so if I go to a party and they are there I feel like I would be missing out if I didnt have that treat. This usually ends up in a binge though!! I need to learn to start viewing food in a different way!!

Great post! I agree, we do have a choice and are responsible for what we eat just as we are responsible for all our actions & choices. Thanks for sharing. emoticon

Way to go, LEOCHICKS! Congrats on the progress you have made! I aspire to finish just as strong at the end of my 4 weeks. I really want to take back the control and not let sweets run my life. I would love to be able to go to a birthday party and turn down the cake, cupcakes, cookies or whatever else is lingering there. :)

That's exactly where I want to be...in control and able to have a bit or a serving and say 'enough' instead of stuffing myself with sweets.

Way to go, keep up the good work!

My main goal with this challenge was to learn moderation and gain control over my sweet tooth. Based on my experiences the past three weeks, I think I'm getting there! I have said no to birthday cake, yes to ONE homemade cupcake with the family, no to the vending machine, and yes to a moderate serving of Lindt hot fudge sauce. One major victory is that all four of these happened on separate days. Instead of letting the circumstances control me, I was able to say no to most sugar and yes to an occasional treat. While I haven't given up sugar for good, I have managed to win several battles and gain a healthy attitude toward sugar. I'm learning that what I eat is my choice, not a monster that controls me.
