I find it helps to say "Yes" so something else, like a long walk, a short run, or some sort of active hobby (like gardening), than it does to say "no" to sugar. If my mind is focused on something else I'm fine. Restricting myself sends an even larger signal that I NEED to have it. Also a big trigger for me is sweets on the counter. I know I am at my worst if I'm touching packaged cookies intended for my son, because seriously, they are not that good.

I am glad to start over again I lost my focus on week 3, I also find the weekends to be very challenging almost impossible for me to avoid sugar. I so want to avoid desserts but I just can't seem to say NO.

I, too, feel as if I need to re-start Week 1. I started off really well, and then as the week progressed, I began to lose focus and motivation. It seems that the closer I get to the weekend, the harder it becomes for me to stay on track. I could tell that when I was avoiding sugar at the beginning of the week, I felt much better...more alert, more upbeat and positive. It just seems as if someone else takes over my body and I have absolutely no control over my cravings after a few days of eating in a healthy way. I know if I could get past the initial "withdrawal symptoms" it would probably be easier and easier to keep my resolve. I just don't seem able to resist my cravings.

I have decided to completely start over. I feel that I have lost my footing so much in the last week that I should start from the beginning to get the full benefit of the program.

I should probably "re-launch" Week 1 as well - this was something I INTENDED to do when I signed up, but honestly I'm not sure I've done anything on this! My road to hell is paved with all my good "intentions." emoticon

Hi everybody! I "began" this challenge 2 weeks ago, but I really didn't. Taking a hard look at, really, how much sugar I am eating and trying to figure out why, quite honestly, is one of the last things I want to do. I have had a love affair with sugar since childhood, so it's like a part of me....heheh...literally! (I have the rear and thighs to prove it!) Regardless of my reluctance, I need to reign in my sugary tendencies before becoming diabetic. And, of course, I want to lose weight, too. So, currently I am on Day 3 of week 1. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Hi Everyone! I guess I will need to start over too as I was doing great through the second week when my cousin Bob whom I am very close too died and I turn around and buy 2 Russell Stover Easter eggs. So I am going to start over too. Lets keep each other motivated.
Sometimes if you really don't feel like starting a challenge, the answer is to just do it!! Putting it off, is like another day that will never come. WE CAN DO THIS! Have a great Sunday everyone! emoticon

Yes, Brenda, I like that idea. Too often I don't set specific goals for challenges and then I feel like I have had no success. But I have nothing to measure that success. I do like the idea of having a goal of journal writing for 5 out of 7 days. Thanks.

There's no time like the present. I'm relaunching too! Maybe if you change your definition of successful you will be motivated to start again? For this week my definition of success will be to keep my sweet journal at least 5 out of 7 days.

Think highly of yourself because the world takes you are your own estimate. --Unknown

I am thinking that I need to start back at week one again too, but for some reason I am just not very motivated right now. I guess I feel like I won't be successful in this challenge right now, and maybe I need to try it again later when I feel much more motivated. I will ponder if for the rest of the day.

I love your link! He is so gorgeous : )
I am back to start over the sweet tooth challenge week #1. I was unsuccessful the first time around and if it doesn't work the first time try again, right? I have always had a love for sweet things and within the last few years this has caused issues. The main thing that I hate are my mood swings if I don't have sugar, uncontrollable sugar needs are really not how I want to spend my time! So, I am back and here to try again. Good luck to everyone!

I am just starting today also. After a horrible binge yesterday, I REALLY need it!
