My poor hubby is still down and bless his generous heart, he shared with me. I am just at that point of...it could go either way. Not sick enough to stay in bed but no energy to do much.

My poor husband came home last night at about 1 am from work and was not feeling too well. By 3 am...very sick. Still feeling under the weather so tomorrow I make his Valentine meal if he is up to it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that none of us get it. He put in a rough night.

DS finished my better-than-sex cake. The cheesecake only
came with strawberries and he wouldn't have wanted to finish
that. I thought all my kids like strawberries.

I am so glad you both like it! I did this today when I got a box of chocolates. I took one and used this technique. Now, the rest are put away and I will give them to my family tonight to share.

Oh, what a marvelous idea! I am making a braided cherry strudel for our dessert tonight and I was so worried about enjoying too much of a good thing. Now you have showed me the perfect plan. I hope I can be strong. I know exactly who I will give the rest to also. Thank you for sharing this fantastic idea.

Try the "three bites of bliss" technique. This is a great exer­cise. Go out of your way to order a delicious-looking dessert. Don't feel guilty about it. In fact, if you don't order dessert and you really wanted dessert, we can almost guarantee that you will eventually relapse because of your self-induced deprivation. Deprivation often leads to binge eating later on. The "three bites of bliss" technique will help you avoid that.

1. Go ahead and take your first bite. The first bite is indeed heavenly bliss—the most delicious thing you have ever experi­enced. Enjoy it. Really taste the chocolate, the nuts, the cream sauce, the cake, and the ice cream in this first bite before you swallow it. Think, "This really is worth it."

2. Now you're probably thinking, "That first bite was so wonderful, I really need another one." So go ahead and take the second bite and thoroughly enjoy it.

3. By now your taste buds are saturated, but for whatever rea­son, you want another bite! So go ahead and take that third bite. This third bite is very important for achieving satisfaction and helps you to emotionally register that you had the opportunity of selecting and eating a wonderful dessert. By letting yourself have these three bites, you prevent feelings of resentment and punishment.

4. Now give the rest away, ask your waitperson to take it away, or throw the rest away. Don't worry that you've wasted it.

Think of the power over food that you have now gained. Now you have empowered yourself with the knowledge and security that you can eat any dessert with full enjoyment, total control, and freedom from guilt.
