I find my "me" time a lot when I am outside, even doing chores.

When I was younger...I was physically fit because of the amount of work I could do. As I got older and slowed down...I did not adjust my eating to go with less physical activity. :(

I am just the opposite Cathy. I had more me time when I was younger. No family to take care of and my folks could still take care of themselves. Now, I always seem to be running between three and sometimes four households. But, I love it. Being there for Mom, sisters and my girls is all good except for the lack of Me time at times.

That sounds like procrastination and I do know I suffer from
it when I REALLY do not want to tear into something. But
if I force myself to "just do it", the relief is huge. Stress just
melts away. Makes me wonder why I put myself through it.
Just "get it done" and move on.

How many times do we wake up and think...ugh, I don't want to do this or....I dread this...when it comes to a task at hand? And right away, there is that heavy feeling of blah.

Whether you feel up to it or don't...start your day with a positive affirmation about yourself and your day. Just saying it out loud is the first step to believing it.

Today is going to be a good day. I feel strong and in control.

Today...instead of letting myself get bummed about some limitations I am dealing with...I reminded myself it is temporary. TEMPORARY!

Today, I went and purchased soups, protein drinks, puddings and jellos and flavored waters...things I can eat that are nutritious while I heal this month.

I can take this month to research my insulin resistance more and check into some healthier food recipes.

Its a good day.

I could tell myself I can't do anything right now but that is an excuse and lying to myself. I can still take the time to learn more...and eat right within my limitations.

Do you find yourself talking "trash talk" to yourself. Putting your best efforts down as not good enough? Do you look at your day and see your short-comings but not your strengths? Do you put your efforts down as "not good enough?

How long would you have a friend if you talked to them this way? Why would you want to be friends with someone if they always put you down?

At the end of the day...tell yourself what you did right, and look at areas you want to improve in. DON'T tell yourself you failed . Each day is a chance to learn and improve. Perfection is not possible and we don't have to be perfect to succeed.

So many times when reading a blog or thread..the words I failed come up. Or we discuss what we did wrong in detail. If we tell ourselves we failed...we feel like failures. Every day is a chance to learn and that comes with some pitfalls. Every attempt is a step towards success.
