Hi, all!

I'm new to this challenge. I've been plodding along with my weight loss these last couple of months. My biggest problem is motivation, so that's what I plan to work on most during this week. Sheer laziness, really. But I need to break myself of it. And I'm glad I'm on the team!

Sandy, when I had knee injuries (mine was weak muscles with 2 slipped patellas), I used Pilates as my primary form of exercise. Some Pilates workouts have more cardio than others, so you gotta shop around. But it was great to be able to exercise without putting any stress on my knees. And it helped me get my knees strong enough for treadmill work. Good luck!

Hi everyone! New to Spark but it sure looks like a great way to lose weight and get fit.

I have a question though. I had knee injury (torn ACL & MCL w/meniscus tearing) two years ago that keeps me from doing a lot of aerobic style cardio. Any suggestions?

Just finished day 6 video. Proud of myself for sticking with these daily videos. Plans for next week are to do each video two or three times as time allows. I am limited on my cardio so 30 minutes a day is pushing it during this time of recovery for me. Possible stress fracture in my lower leg, waiting on bone scan to confirm docs suspicion. Struggling with this limitation has resulted in a 3 day food bender! However, I'm over feeling sorry for myself, this is so small in the grand scheme of things.....Moving on & reaching towards my goals once more with renewed vigor!

Hi Sarah,

I recommend doing as much as you can without injuring yourself further so that you stay on track as much as possible and don't allow yourself to lose motivation while waiting to heal.

I was just about to finish my first week of exercise when I twisted my ankle emoticon Now i'm trying to decide if I should persist (while I am still motivated to exercise) and focus on things like chair exercise or wait until my ankle is better and start again and perhaps lose my motivation.
Advice anyone?

It's Monday afternoon, and I shoulda started yesterday MORNING. But, here I am. Better late then never. After being with SP for 2+ years, losing the weight I wanted+.....gaining about 10 # back....being sick and not able to exercise with my bad cough.... I am ready to get back with the program. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I don't want to feel like I'm slacking off. I want to feel healthy, and feel good about the choices I'm making. Starting here on January 7th...Day 1.

I fell on January 1 while ice skating so my first week of exercise was limited to only 3 days of cardio. Hopefully I will get in 5 cardio and some videos this week.

My personal goal for this challenge is CONSISTENCY! I would really love to exercise daily over the course of 4 weeks. If I can do this.....the sky is the limit and the weight will roll off!

01.06.13: Day 1 was a good day! Calorie intake was within my range and I exercised for 35 minutes!

01.07.13: Day 2 is shaping up nicely. I've had a healthy breakfast and lunch...looking forward to a healthy dinner and a 45 minute work out this evening!

Happy Monday. I did a sculpting video on here. I also did 30 and 7 minutes on the treadmill and bike at the gym. I also did some yoga stretching and the weight machines at the gym. Not bad for a Monday. My goal is do cardio at the gym on the treadmill and bike. And when I get home, plan on doing some of the videos that is provided on this site. Feeling a little bit energized and hope to continue throughout the week. (HOPE) emoticon

I hate that I didn't get to start this with everyone else. It would have been nice to not have to do this alone.

I didn't get a good start with this challenge last week but over the weekend I received my copy of Coach Nicole's 28-Day Bootcamp DVD. I will start this tonight and track as my workouts.
I'm excited to get started!

I also received a FitBit for Christmas so along with starting my workouts with Coach Nicole I've been very aware of walking and taking the stairs as much as possible.

WOW! I really regret that workout

Hello, everyone. I did the first workout on video. Wow! It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Hopefully, tomorrow is better. Of course, tomorrow I have both cardio and a video. Have that for the rest of the week. I am determined to do this. I am so tired of being fat. I want and need to get healthy. Here's to a good tomorrow.

Have you tried the videos on fitnessblender.com? They're pretty good, and I always turn to them when the spark videos are to easy :)

I started day one yesterday. I figured the 8 minute video would be a breeze...it was not... I got through it but I am sore today... I will run/walk for 30 minutes toda for my cardio & I will do the ST video tonight when I get home. Good luck to everyone else!

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."

Started great, with my husband joining me for the videos each day.

Unfortunately, my schedule was upset this week so that I had no time to escape for a run. I made up for it with a cardio video, which was very tough.

My husband was reluctant to do the videos, because he feels the exercises are geared toward women's bodies (lots of legs and abs, with hardly any arms), and "too easy." The Day 4 video, I'm afraid, was so easy for both of us that we laughed our way through it. Since then, he hasn't been game to the other videos in this challenge, but did enjoy the cardio sculpt video.

So I'm back to my regular routine, which should include a daily run. I guess I'll be doing the videos on my own. It's a shame, since I enjoyed working out together.
