I will be repeating week 1. I only did 2 of the videos and I refuse to accept that.

Hi Everyone -

Hope you all did well in Week 1. I did okay this past week. I did a couple of days of the videos and the days I didn't, I did do the strength training exercise that Sparkpeople gave me on my fitness tracker. Also got in some cardio most of the days.

I really want to see some changes before summer so going to stick with this for week 2.

Started on Jan. 3 and just finished Week 1. Great way to start the new year. Last year with SparkPeople, I did more reading than doing (and it shows). This jumpstart is just what I needed.

Just starting today. I really need a challenge like this to hold me accountable. Those pesky last 10 pounds have been lingering along since I had my son 9 months ago. Here's hoping I have the motivation and will power to get it done this time around!!!!

I joined late. So, I felt that I was playing catch up all week, but it worked. I was able to acheive earning Spark trophies. I feel pretty good. What has helped me the most is tracking what I eat. It seemed to work better if I tracked the food prior to eating it, then if I tracked it after I ate. Let's keep up the good work everyone!

Hello week 2!

My goals this week are to increase my cardio everyday and to create a more organized schedule. I do not want lack of time management to jeopardize my challenge.

Also on the agenda this week, I will complete the cardio interval video along with the toning workouts, tracking my food, and keep up with yOu all on the challenge. Woot woot! This going to be great week.

Jess

I am just starting this challenge tomorrow. My goal for this challenge is to overcome my fear of strength training causing me to crash and flare. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which you might guess means I am exhausted and in pain, most if not all the time. I find any exercise hard, but it seems especially strength training (even if I take it slowly) causes me to flare and crash. I have been afraid to do much of it; yet, I would like to get more toned if I can. So, my goal is to do the videos with modifications as necessary, and if I crash take a step back and do as much as I can. I am nervous, but this is a necessary step to do what I CAN and not worry about what I CAN'T. Even if I have to do something every other day or every two days, it's still better than not doing it at all, right?

Day 1: done. Had to lower the intensity through the whole video but I did it!

Day 2: done. I had to modify and I posted on my team of fellow chronic illness sufferers how I modified the exercises so hopefully others can join in too.

I wanted to start off the new year right. I am super busy but 10 minutes is easy to add to my two runs a week and two dance classes. I did the first five days but spent the last two travelling across the world via plane to get home from my holiday vacation. Now on to week two. My goal is to do all the predlscribe videos for each day. Here is to keeping focused 👍

I havent finished week 1 yet. I wasnt feeling well last week and then the kids were out of school. I know and recognize the excuses as they are and have decided that I am going to start fresh. I have set up my goals and have recommited myself. I think this is a great challenge though because there is a great support system and the action points arent too hard to follow. I started day one cardio video and I feel great!

Goal 1: complete something I start
Goal 2: lose 70lb so I can live a nice long healthy life
Goal 3: Learn to how to set achievable goals

Imma gonna do it this year!

Week one went well. Got all the videos and exercise in. Next week I also need to hit the nutrition harder. Was not so good on that.
I did however have trouble with tracking. For some odd reason if I track workouts on my computer as opposed to my smart phone it thinks it is the next day. So for next week I will just add them on the phone and hope all goes smoothly.
Already did my video for tonight and look forward to getting with the program tomorrow and not cheating on the calories or eating junk. Dumped out a lot of temptation today, AKA candy.

I enjoyed week 1 and was surprised to see 2 videos down from the chair. That is great for me with the arthritis and scoliosis as there is no getting up and down quickly for me! I really liked the tricep exercises-it was nice to be able to feel I had done something. I did have to do a catch-up day on Tuesday since we spent Monday out of town for a bowl game.

So week one I did ok...I missed a few days but made it up the following day by doing one or two videos. I am caught up today. I like the videos and I find them surprisingly challenging. Week two I am going to try a bit harder to get it done everyday, it is encouraging to know that you can change your body in a few minutes a day. I am hoping to stay motivated this week and my goal is to be under two hundred pounds by my weigh in day. (Thursday) Wish me some luck!!

I am actually finding the ten-minute format less than helpful. The videos can't be done without putting on socks, shoes and a sports bra...and by the time I do that, I might as well go to the gym for an hour, which I do pretty much every day anyhow.

I find the material kind of slow and too easy. Perhaps I should try doing a bunch in a row.

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, cumba Mexicana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, danzón, Cuban rumba, ballroom rumba

I have a goal this week of 500 minutes of exercise. To reach this goal, I exercised 2 hours today. I did the day one video and an extra arms video. My 5 you daughter and I played the Just Dance on the wii for 67 minutes and we worked out to a 30 minute Kids walk video. for someone who is 257 pounds this was a lot of work out!! I managed to get through all the videos last week but I was wiped. I'm grateful for the jumpstart into making exercise a habit!

I didn't do as well as I had hoped but this is just the start. There were a couple of days where my physical challenges got in the way of any workouts or ever logging meals. Regardless, the days that I was able to pay attention to meals and to get extra exercise are the start of something great.

I had a great week one and ready to tackle week two! I didn't manage to do the videos every day since I work full time and go to college full time. But, I did stick to my personal goals of working out 5 days a week with two rest days to catch up on housework and homework :) I already have so much more energy since I started working out two weeks ago. Loving it!

I am very proud of myself for completing week 1. emoticon emoticon

Gratitude is the best attitude! Desire

The most powerful and frankly sexiest asset you have possession of is your brain.

Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.

Count your blessings, have Faith and be Happy as life goes on!

Faith comes from hearing and hearing comes from from the Word of God!

well, my congratulations to the rest of you... I managed to go for a walk five times in week 1, but did not touch the videos. Maybe the fast start steps of going for a walk each day, drinking 8 glasses of water per day (and no caffeine), tracking my food 3 days in the week, and managing to get 8 hours of sleep on 3 nights are enough for me. I feel good about what I have accomplished, and am not beating myself up about not doing more...
