emoticon Put my pedometer back on today! It does make a difference in my motivation for sure. I wore my tennis shoes w/orthotic in them instead of slippers & that makes a difference too.

If you are persistent, you'll get it.

If you are consistent, you'll keep it...

Happy Monday to you!

Your challenge today is to put on your pedometer (if you own one) and get moving. Can you get in 10,000 steps (the equivalent of walking roughly five miles)?

Did you know:

1)The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports recommends 30 minutes a day, on five or more days a week, or 10,000 steps daily, to produce the best, long-term health benefits for most individuals.

2)A person who walks 10,000 steps a day will burn between 2,000 and 3,500 extra calories per week, which will result in achieving a vastly better health profile and longer lifespan.

3)If your goal is to lose weight, start slow and gradually work yourself up to walking 12,000 to 15,000 steps a day. Walking is a great way to lose weight—and keep it off.

4)Many doctors and researchers have found that wearing a pedometer is a great way to track your daily activity and inspire you to move more on days you have been sedentary.

5)The average person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles.

What are YOU waiting for? Let's get out and walk!

Have a MULTI-MILEAGE Monday!

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And
maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world
