I just do the sculpt or sculpt + cardio workouts because I prefer my mini tramp for cardio, although both of the above are cardio workouts for me. When I started exercising again back in my 40s I had to start with Leslie Sansone workouts, so she must be in good shape.

I loaned my 30 Day Express set to my friend with three kids who says she has a hard time fitting in a workout. She said they are definitely tough! I did find them very challenging and used them pretty regularly (mostly the sculpt or the cardio + sculpt workouts -- for plain cardio I just do the treadmill). My DVD collection has ballooned recently so I'm going to let her keep them as long as she wants. I don't so well with a lot of rapid movements up and down (like burpees), so I'm focusing on longer workouts with the Fanny Lifter. Eventually I'll clear my kids' Legos off my Transfirmer and do some of those workouts too. ;)

I am definitely winded after the firm express workouts so I like to do pilates or yoga or ball work afterwords. They are really fun and not boring. You must be in great shape to do these workouts, I have to modify some of the moves to fit my fitness ability. Thank you very much for the advise.

Joycee23, you are doing great! I do the Firm Express workouts on days when I'm short on time. If you're finding that your not exhausted after 20mins, push harder next time! You should be done after the blasts. I noticed that I wasnt sweaty and winded anymore so I paid attention and jumped a little higher, lifted my knees more upped the weight a couple pounds, it made all the difference! I do add on extra ab work and stretching, my only complaint about the FE.

You can always "double-up" the workouts; I've done that with the Express videos before. You can, for example, mix a cardio-heavy workout with one that focuses more on resistance.

Doing my best...one day at a time.

They switched it up and made some of the Express workouts pretty challenging. Some of them are less so, but I like to switch it up.

I just started the firm express. It has many moves I cannot do, which surprised me since I have been doing firm workouts for years now.

Oh, no, Sharon, I'm sorry to hear that!! Make sure you keep to the low/no impact so that you can heal properly. We'll be here when you're ready to sweat again!

Unfortunately, I hurt my leg yesterday, so I have to suspend my 30 Day Express challenge temporarily. emoticon
Nothing serious, but I can't do anything but low/no impact for the next four weeks. I'll admit I'm pretty bummed out, because I was really looking forward to seeing the results from this program!
But, I WILL start over once this injury is healed! emoticon

I won't eat any "diet" food that tastes that horrible! I've tried explaining that to my BF, when he wrinkles his nose at the thought of healthy eating. I try a "low cal" or "lite" product; if it tastes like cardboard or weeds, it's out the door. I only eat healthy foods that don't make me gag.

I would think that as long as you're within your calorie range that you get from Spark, you should be fine. *MAYBE* by following the FIRM's eating plan you'd lose a few more pounds over the course of the 30 days...but you'd probably be hungry! For me, the trade-off isn't worth it.
Of course I'm no expert, and I'd be interested to hear from people who have followed the FIRM's eating guidelines. I could be way off-base.
And I totally agree with the "plastic cheese" thing--yuck! I'd rather have a smaller portion of the good stuff! emoticon

LOL, I have a problem with any plan that recommends low fat dairy anyway. I would rather abstain completely then eat plastic-y low fat cheeses. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that has had success following the their nutrition guidelines and perhaps not following it has kept me from attaining the goal.

Dawn, I agree, the calorie level seemed a little bit low. And once I saw "eliminate alcohol," that was the deal-breaker! emoticon

The nutrition guidelines with the Firm workouts seem a bit too low for me, so I don't usually follow their suggestions for meals, etc.

I'm not following their nutrition guidelines. I'm just tracking here on SparkPeople, and trying to stay within my daily calorie range.
Just getting back into the exercise habit is enough for me right now, I don't want to make it any harder than it has to be! emoticon
But I think the nutrition guidelines that came with the kit are fairly reasonable, if that's something you'd want to try.

Hello! As I mentioned in my "Introduce Yourself" post, I just got the FIRM's 30 Day Express Kit and am starting today. I thought I'd post the workouts here as I go, to keep myself accountable. If anybody wants to join in, I'd love the company! emoticon

CYCLE 1: Ignite

Mon: Sculpt emoticon
Tue: Rest (2 mile walk)
Wed: Cardio emoticon
Thu: Rest (leg injury---Challenge suspended emoticon )
Fri: Cardio+Sculpt
Sat: Rest
Sun: Rest

CYCLE 2: Accelerate

Mon: Cardio
Tue: Rest
Wed: Cardio+Sculpt
Thu: Rest
Fri: Sculpt

CYCLE 3: TurboCharge

Mon: Cardio
Tue: Rest
Wed: Sculpt
Thu: Rest
Fri: Cardio+Sculpt

CYCLE 4: Overdrive

Mon: Sculpt
Tue: Rest
Wed: Cardio+Sculpt
Thu: Rest
Fri: Cardio
Sat: Rest
Sun: Rest

I'm planning on walking 1 or 2 miles on at least 2 rest days per week, because as much as I'd like to believe three 20-minute workouts are going to make all of my fat melt away like magic, I think I'll need to supplement a little. emoticon

I'm really excited to be FIRMing again!
