I was exactly the same way, confused about what exactly to eat.
I was 100% raw and lost a lot of weight but was stuck before I discovered McDougall. Once I began to follow the program I began to gain and gain and could not figure out why.
By some miracle I found Chef AJ and her Weight Loss Wednesdays videos on YouTube. She credits Dr. McDougall and his Maximum Weight Loss plan for part of her success. She also specializes in calorie density and food addiction. Eating certain foods trigger binge eating.
I'm happy to say I've lost all the weight I gained after following what I thought was McDougall and am on the downward slope again. I am never hungry. NEVER.
You might want to look her up. Start with #1 and watch a couple. It will change your life.

It's a good start. I follow many of McDougall's ideas but I also refuse to give up my morning freshly ground coffee and I use olive oil and coconut oil for cooking. Find what works for you but remember to enjoy!

I think your best option is to google Dr. McDougall, there will be a host of results including sample plans, shopping lists and recipes.

I just read most of 'The Starch Solution' but I really need more insight into what amounts to eat.
As a former binge eater I am worried that I might go completely overboard.

I am looking for some simple guidelines with regard to how much to eat of which foods, on an average day.
