Hi again,

I am finding this threads an help and an inspiration and they're already helping me with proceeding with the book.

Today is my day 2 and this is what I wrote on my journal:

1) I am COMMITTED to maintain an healthy lifestyle and eating plan: I will regularly shop for veggies and fruits and follow a meal plan. I won't eat out more than once per week.

2) I am COMMITTED to exercise at least 5x per week and take a walk daily: I am part of a group with exercise challenges to keep me accountable and keep my routine varied

3) I am COMMITTED to finish this book: I'll dedicate 30min/day to reading and completing the dail tasks and I set a reward system.

Oh this is a hard one!

I want to be 100 percent committed but I dont think that is honest .

I can say TODAY I am committed, I guess I can only do that one day at a time, maybe somedays one hour at a time.

I pray I will get to full 100 percent committed.

Today I am committed to tracking, doing 100 days here, exercise plan and drinking water. I have done this 100 days, yesterday and today, just now, I have drank my water. I need to get to my tracking right now and my exercise.

Thank you All for participating , reading posts helps me alot

I am committed.
Committed to drinking water, to eating healthy, but...

I am currently just interested in exercise.
I need to commit to that, too.

I am committed. I remember this day so we. It made a tremendous impression on me. I always, always beat myself up for 'failing, not sticking with my 'diet,' giving up, quitting, not being good enough. . .' For me at least, this day with committed vs. interested made all the difference in the world.

Interesting how we see things alike, and sometimes a little different, and sometimes one word or statement just hits us. You know. That 'aha' moment. I read this and thought. That's it. Yes, I've always been 'interested'. Always 'wanted' to lose weight, get healthier. But I didn't actually commit. Huge difference. I'm 'interested' in so many things, but I'm not committed to all of them.

I am committed to following through with getting heathier, sticking to my food plan, getting in exercise time, looking for the positive, planning ahead, being prepared, and posting as often as possible.

This team, and Linda Spangle!, has helped me in so many ways.

Committed, committed, COMMITTED!!

I am committed to maintaining my weight loss and staying at or below goal.
I am committed to No S and I admit I have slid a bit this summer but I'm back.
I am committed to being a supportive and contributing member of this team.
I am committed to trying. Does that sound weird? I may not get here every day but I WILL try.

I am interested in trying new foods, meeting new people, finding a new hobby, etc.;
I am committed to regaining my health!

Day #2 Interested or Committed?

It was interesting to read what I wrote last time (my first time through). So glad I'm here at this point in time now, and not in the stress filled situation back then! However, in the time since then, I did manage to have the scale go down to the range I was seeking. (and this team most certainly aided the process involved!)

I am committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle and eating plan. I am committed to eating healthy through the holidays and avoiding those treats that are everywhere. If I don't buy them or bring them home, then I won't be tempted to eat them. There is absolutely no reason to start in with wine or beer again -- especially since I know that it whets my appetite for food that is not on my plan, and loosens my inhibitions about over-indulging. I am committed to the overall feeling of ease and well-being I have when my body is well nourished with real food.

I am committed to maintaining my every day exercise plan. The Y is open all but a few days the next few months, and I know I do well with group support and a set time schedule. I know I will miss a day every now and then, but the mindset of doing something every day is what I'm committed to. I am committed to supplementing my Y workouts with home workouts when the situation calls for it.

I am committed to posting to the upcoming 100 days threads, even on those days when I don't think the particular lesson applies to me emoticon . I know there is always something I can learn about myself (and from others) by examining the topic of discussion.

Today I will plan my meals and evening snacks ahead of time. I've been doing quite well, but I can tell that my evening eating is in need of a re-visit and re-think...it's slipping a little. I will also attend my planned Y classes for Tuesday: Pilates and Strength. Love the Pilates! Dark room, soft jazzy music and slow controlled movements. Then the Strength instructor polishes it all off. Today will be the first afternoon I've gone since Daylight Savings time change. I dislike driving home in the dark, but emoticon

Day #2 Interested or Committed?

What a surprise for me to find my post from last March front and center as I read through what everyone has had to say on this subject so far today! And the second surprise - on that date I was busy with my father and the same holds true today!

1. Decide that you will always be omitted to your weight-loss plan and not just interested.

I CAM COMMITTED! ! ! That is my story and I am sticking to it!

Actually, as I reread today's lesson I saw myself very clearly. I have been determined until something else comes up; like having fun. I don't seem to need my scale to reward me with results in order to stay on target, but I do blame everything and everyone else for my slip-ups. This has got to stop! It is time for me to take responsibility for myself.

2. Describe how you will stick with your plan, NO MATTER WHAT.

That means PLAN - PLAN - PLAN when I see a challenging situation ahead.

Since most of my slip-ups are associated with social events I will be watching my calendar closely and planning how to tackle the triggers. For example, on Wednesday I am attending a program at my church which involves dinner. I know that Lasagna, Salad, Garlic Bread, and Desert will be served. After dinner and a short video we break into small groups for discussion and my group always serves wine. My PLAN is to track my calories closely during the day and then at dinner I will skip the garlic bread, skip the wine, and bring my own low fat salad dressing.

3. Do at least one thing today that shows I am truly committed.

Today is a busy day and I am demonstrating my commitment by making sure I get to the Y for my ST routine (which I was suppose to do yesterday, but did cardio instead due to lack of time).

Day 2 - Interested or Committed

I AM COMMITTED!

I agree with my comments from previous times, I am Committed to my eating plan not just 'interested' no matter what! I know that when I commit 100% or almost it does work, no idea how but it does. I need to be aware of any excuses and ignore them! emoticon

I just re-read what I posted previously, and I'm not sure I've changed much.

I am committed to sticking to my No S diet for the next 99 days. There! I said it! No grey areas, no 'flexibility' - I am COMMITTED!

I will stick to this 'no matter what' - and help myself by doing my daily meal planning.

Today I have packed my lunch and dinner to take to work. Two meals, no snacks. That's all the food I need. I am going to make a bigger effort today to remember to drink water between meals.

I am posting a day late and yesterday I would have told you I was COMMITTED to finding balance in my healthy living and weight loss. However, yesterday threw me for a loop of stress regarding my 91 year old father and the day ended with me breaking several of my weight loss action steps.

Just goes to show I still have some skills to conquer! Today, 3/7, is a new day emoticon

Day #2 - Interested or Committed?
I am committed! This is the phrase I've kept repeating to myself through the day.

Being committed means doing what I CAN to maintain fitness even through the occasional injury or muscle ache.

Being committed means passing on food I know is not going to help me, even if it's on sale at a great price.

Being committed means checking my nutrition tracker not just for calories consumed, but also for nutrients, fiber, protein etc.

Being committed means to consciously get as many fruits and veggies in as I can every day.

Being committed means making the effort to check in with this team every day -- even if I'm feeling blah.

Day # 2 Interested or committed

Time to decide if sitting on the fence will no longer work.
Being interested means I want to be healthier and stronger without putting in the effort to get there.

Being committed means putting in the effort to maintain good health on a daily basis.
Being committed means I will stay on plan when eating out.
Being committed means choosing fruit and veggies.
Being committed means physical activity daily.
Being committed means starting over on these lessons to keep the weight off.

Day 2 - Interested or Committed

I AM COMMITTED!

Does my level of commitment vary from time to time, yes! I still remain committed however and I am not giving up on me.

I love Linda's suggestion of making something you order in a restaurant a little special, like ordering sparkling water instead of just water. My restaurant go to is water with lemon but maybe now it will be sparkling water with lemon.
I'm sticking with my No S and Spark calorie range, planning carefully for meals out.

One thing I do every day to demonstrate my level of commitment is that I get on Spark first thing every morning, check out the start page, say hello to some friends, and do Spark Coach. It is a start to the day that puts that commitment firmly in my mind to start the day.

Exercise today - 60 minutes on the treadmill + sitting upper body

I know I get discouraged easily...

If the scale goes up or stays the same while I am following my plan.
If others are eating things I want to eat
If I am emotional (hmm.. when am I not? LOL!)
If I have a small slip

But better healthy takes commitment. I must choose to commit to taking care of myself as I am worth taking care of. Just being interested in taking care of myself is not enough.

I do blame everything but myself. I control my hands. I control what I eat and if I exercise.

No matter what I am worth it! No matter what I will stay on my lower carb plan. No matter what I can reduce sugar and wait to have a sweet treat (if I want it).

I am committed to following my plan. I am committed to taking care of my body.

Commitment to me means
C-choosing to follow a wholesome, inspirational, plan to lose (or maintain a healthy) weight permanently because I want to lead and be an inspiration to others. My plan is to eat only whole foods and foods prepared at home with honey or sweet foods substituted for sugar and do 210 minutes a week of planned moderate exercise, at least 15 minutes each day.
O-on days that I am tempted to stray from my plan, I WILL stay the course anyway.
M-modifying the plan when I find myself in a situation where my weight goals are not being met by cutting out the following food items for two weeks: no fruit, sugars, sweet vegetables such as carrots or beets, starchy foods such as potatoes, grains such as wheat or rice, cashews, peanuts.
M-making changes surely but gradually
I - inspired to persevere, learning from my errors and devising new ways to avoid them
T - taking a positive can do attitude, always reviewing my goals.
M- making index cards with the new thinking that will allow me to have a new lifestyle
E- enjoying the journey and celebrating every minor success.
N- kNowing that I will ultimately succeed with Gods help.
T- telling all doubters that my lifestyle is the new me regardless of what they think.

Day 2, R U Interested or Committed

I am COMMITTED....until I hit that slippery patch when I am just interested. Not sure why but my commitment seems to wax and wane like the moon. I am in a rough patch right now and even though I am still on Spark daily, still tracking my food, still exercising at least 10 minutes a day and participating in challenges....I have not been able to consistently meet my walking goal.

This lesson challenges me to dig in and be more consistent. If I am really committed I will stick to my program and protect my program by going through the process each and every day.

Oh, SLENDERMAMA1 you are not a 'lazy git'! There is a lot of emotional stuff around losing that last 7-10lbs. It's a kind of grey waste-land, where no-one else cares if you lose any more weight because they can't see the point, and those last don't even really show much. They will suddenly notice when you appear dressed in those smaller jeans, or the fitted dress etc.

I've been in that place, and lost those last 10lbs. Now I want to shift another 5-7lbs and it's the hardest thing ever!

Stick with the 100 DWL and we can crack this!

Typing honestly, I am interested. I am fighting myself to be committed. Emotional eating and just eating keeps plunging me in the "interested" column. I gain and lose the same 5 pounds. Have been for quite awhile now.

I think I'm committed, but I know that there are parts of my program that I'm 'just interested' in.

I'm not overweight, so I'm not calorie-counting and worried about getting weight off. But I am trying to keep my weight down, and to keep fit and healthy.

In that respect, I am committed to a running program - which I'm doing really well at. I got out this morning for a long run and it was fabulous. I am not so consistently committed to my strength training progam, or my yoga - I dip in and out of them a bit.

Food-wise, I am committed to eating three meals a day and having no snacks or sweets Monday - Friday.

I am committed to being vegetarian but I am less committed to being totally vegan, and dairy produce sneaks back in - I've allowed myself to be flexible about that, but I can allow that flexibility to lead me off-track. I'm 'interested' in being vegan, but I've settled for being 'mostly vegan'.

I know I gain weight when I eat wheat-based foods & similar carbs, and I'm 'interested' in having one meal a day which is free of those foods. Again, I find I'm less than fully 'committed' to this goal.

I tell myself these are not big things, but if I really want to see a lasting improvement then I need to work out how to be more committed to those things:-

strength-training
yoga
vegan alternatives to dairy
one carb-free meal a day

I am committed. Repeating what I have said before, "Doing what it takes to be healthy and fit is my lifestyle and my job. The discussion and study of the 100 DWL continues to give me great tools and strategies to accomplish this. That's why I am back."

I must be committed. If I only have interest I will not give this the effort needed to be successful. I have made great strides before. I can do it again.

If Im completely honest, I would have to say Im not sure about my level of commitment to losing weight. Having written that down I realize I need to make up my mind one way or the other! Theres no point wasting time, money, physical and mental energy on something I am not 100% committed to.
I only have 7 pounds to go to reach my goal and Im pretty sure if I pulled my socks up, I could do itbutmy weight hasnt budged in a while..Im not sure if I have some psychological hold up or Im just a lazy git. Most likely a mix of both.
I am however committed to maintaining my health and not gaining any weight. I am committed and will eat to keep my gut balanced. That means planning my meals, exercise 3-4 times a week and de-stress and yoga several times a week, probiotics, supplements and avoiding anything that encourages bad things like inflammation or harmful bacterial over growth.
About the weight .I want to make myself more animated about it it may be that I am just a lazy git.ah well!

Phyllis - Sometimes I feel like I am "sitting on the fence" too!

I AM committed ! Otherwise I wouldn't be here, but as we all know, sometimes it is just so darn hard! I find that, as Linda describes, I still "entertain a few nagging thoughts about having fun instead of staying on my plan". This past w/e was a fine example of that as I "gave in" despite my planning. I obviously have work to do to conquer my eating demons and so I am back on track with my healthy eating and fitness. One day at a time!

Maribeth - I really like the quote you posted about being Committed vs Interested and I have saved it to my computer as a future motivational reminder.

Daphne - I recently just gave up several of the Teams I was on because I was struggling so much to keep up with them all. Right now our 100 DWL review is the only focus I have.

Cheryl - 480 days of Logging In ! WOW! ! ! I'm impressed and I hope to stay focused enough to reach that some day too.

Day 2
Are you committed or interested?
Day 2 - Interested or committed?

I have committed to this journey to become healthier and fit. I have been faithful to log in to Spark every day for 480 days emoticon as a place to go for encouragement and learning.

I am committed to doing more walking everyday. Somewhat enforced as we will be with out a fenced in yard for the next few months and have a dog who will also need more exercise to make up for not being able to run around in the yard. Hope to get back to strength training videos in 2 weeks after we have moved to our daughters.

I am committed to watching my portion sizes and choosing healthy foods even when I have to grab a meal on the go.

I am committed to planning meals ahead to stay on track during a stressful and hectic time.

100 DWL...DAY#2....INTERESTED OR COMMITED
So many great responses already this morning. In the past I have tried to be committed to losing weight only to realize that I was only interested.
Today something seems different. Today I feel like if I don't be committed to a weight loss plan and start moving a lot more, I may not have another chance to do so.
So for today the eggs are boiling on the stove for breakfast, then it's off to the mall for a few laps.
I CAN BE COMMITTED.💪💯💯

Day # 2 Interested or committed
Time to decide if sitting on the fence will no longer work.
Being interested means I want to be healthier and stronger without putting in the effort to get there.

Being committed means I will stay on plan when eating out.
Being committed means not looking at two holidays as two months of going backwards.
Being committed means sometimes putting my needs first at this busy time of year.
Being committed means choosing fruit and veggies.
Being committed means physical activity daily.
