I'm starting Week 3 today! I always find it difficult to get enough fruits and veggies in, so this is a good challenge for me! I stocked up on apples, bananas, frozen mixed berries, baby carrots, and spinach at the store today. Oh, and lots of those Steamables-- the frozen veggies where you just throw the whole bag in the microwave to steam them!

I'm ready to rick week 3!! My "amp up" goal is to add 10 minutes to my cardio at least 3 times this week!

Oh my goodness! I had totally forgotten that I was supposed to start week 3 again! I've been busy focussing on my C25K program and forgot about this. I will attempt to get back into it tomorrow (tonight I have circuit training so I don't think I'll manage a video).

Well done on your progress everyone.

LAHEDO, good idea about doubling up on the videos. I was struggling to do them every day too. Right, I'm off to revisit the guidelines for week 3!

Go Team Go!

I know the feeling JLPARKHURST, I only weigh myself every 2 weeks and in the fisrt 2 I put on 4lbs!! but have my eating sorted out this week, 2 days in a row I have eaten within my calorie range and I am not able to do a video every day so i double/triple them up and I find that it works really well for me and Im always doing at least 20 mins cardio a day without trying (School run/shop). I am about to start training for a 10k race and my plan calls for interval training so Im pleased it is incorporated into this week!!

emoticon Good Luck everyone for this week!! :()

So I just finished week 2. I ended up gaining a lb. However, I think that has more to do with mother nature and not because I haven't been doing what I am supposed to. I actually have been doing it well. Last week instead of adding just one video to the week I added a new video each day. I also increased cardio to 20 min a day/5 days per week.

This week my new goal starts: I will do 30 min cardio a day 7 days a week
I will continue doing 2 toning videos a day 5 days a week
I will continue tracking my food every day
I will eat AT LEAST 5 servings of fruit and veggies every day
I will drink 8-10 cups of water per day
I will not get discouraged
I will add bouts of activity throughout the day (lunges, wall
pushups, ...)

I can do this!!!!

emoticon job 4EVERBABYCAKES and ABISMITHY!

4EVERBABYCAKES: It is totally emoticon that you are getting in the kickboxing cardio videos as they are GREAT calorie burners! Doing what you are able to do is the perfect plan for you. Don't worry about comparing yourself to what other's do or what is "scheduled" for the challenge as everyone is different. I know cardio was very difficult for me at first and I didn't think I was EVER going to get past 5 minutes (just 10 short weeks ago) much less 10, 20 or 30! emoticon ...keep up the good work and worry only about what is doable/comfortable for you.

ABISMITHY: emoticon on getting your fruits/veggies in yesterday. Keep up the good work! emoticon

I started week 3 yesterday and am a bit all over the place with the videos. I think I need to do two tonight to catch up.

I've been doing way more cardio for the past two weeks. I need to focus on my 5 fruits and veggies... managed it yesterday... will need to focus today!

Have fun everyone and good luck!

Week three is finished! I think I got into a little more of a grove this week; it wasn't nearly as hard to do the videos each day. My cardio every day was one of the 10-minute kick-boxing videos which although wasn't the 30 minutes that the challenge recommends, it was all I could do. (I did something . . . right?) Anyway, feeling good - moving on to week 4!

I finished week three strong and proud! I was able to get in *7* days of cardio fitness (usually 30 minutes per day), got in all of my strength training videos and I'm feeling emoticon . This challenge has truly been one of the best things to ever happen to me in a long while. It is kicking my butt and kicking me into high gear and I'm loving every minute of it. Where I once dreaded getting off of the couch to do a 10 minute cardio workout I now can't wait to get in 30+ minutes a day and am always looking for new ways/types of physical activity to do. While I still have back pain issues, I'm learning to really enjoy getting my body off of the couch and moving forward. I'm smart and make sure not to "over do it" where my back is concerned, but I no longer use it as an excuse to NOT exercise. This was a HUGE development for me and I'm so glad to have discovered this challenge that has given me hope and allowed me to make exercise a passion rather than a pass-time. Thank you team and team leaders. Thank you for EVERYTHING you've given me!

JUNEBUG,
Your persistence and dedication are inspiring! Instead of throwing in the towel when thrown a curve ball, you did what you could, and then challenged yourself to do it again. The first time wasn't without the positve gains we are seeking. Now, you continue to build on that foundation. emoticon

Congratulations to all of those who have progressed through the week!
It has been a difficult week for me. I have completed the week. I had no scheduled cardio, but have been constantly on the move today. I am adding some wii bowling for additional movement. I have completed my video, and am now off to eat some strawberries which will complete the fruit and vegetable challenge.
I am looking forward to seeing what week four brings.
Have a great weekend! emoticon

Accomplished my goals today-barely. My cat was extremely ill, and I spent the day doing house cleaning. I completed the pilates workout, which isn't one I do very well, and always feel I have accomplished something by just getting it through that one. I almost made my fruit and vegetable quota, not quite. Dinner plans changed suddenly, as it was discovered some of the necessary ingredients had spoiled. All in all today was a challenge. emoticon

I am doing SP's rookie running program right now so I already increase my routine a bit 3 days a week but I also added 40 minutes of zumba one day, 15 another day and 20 extra minutes of zumba a third day. Woo hoo! I love these SP challenges!

I completed day 4 of the third week. I doubled the upper body with resistance bands as I usually work my lower body with cardio (my fav) I am pleased to report that I did eat all of my fruits and vegetables, I rode my stationary bike an extra ten minutes to add to the cardio. I have many household chores which uses various muscle groups. Having a regular routine of working all muscle groups helps make the daily activities easier. emoticon

Hey everyone!
I'm just over halfway on week 3 and I am loving it! I am really surprised to say that as I have generally been more of a sitting down kind of person than a get up and go...but I love getting up in the morning and starting my day with a work out video. My absolute favourite is the kick boxing video and I would love loads more of these! I find the 12 minute pilates and the butt blasting ones a bit tough but I still really enjoy the sense of achievement when I make it through them.
Thanks Coach Nicole and Sparkpeople!!

Halfway through week #3 and feeling good! I'm definitely noticing more definition in my body from the toning and the cardio is REALLY helping with my breath control issues. While I find 30 minutes of cardio is still challenging it is no longer exhausting for me...which is a good thing as I think I may have been over doing it when I was going through the 8-week diabetes weight loss challenge and "defeating the purpose." I feel I'm at a good place with this challenge and that I'm getting down a routine that is very conducive for my individual needs. Can't wait to get through the next week and a half and then find another GREAT challenge to do. I find that I learn more and more with each one I join (and complete). Very enlightening indeed.

I've been really inconsistent with logging my food and I think it's been the reason I've felt so exhausted throughout this bootcamp. I estimate that I over-eat slightly so I compensate with extra cardio to burn the extra calores- but I think I need to boost up the protein if I'm going to do that. Maybe it's also the result of the heat wave....

I am currently waiting out a series of severe storms which are predicted to end around 3:00 am.
It is always unsettling. The weatherband keeps going off, and I have a great deal to complete to mouseproof before the end of the day. I am taking it one step at a time and having my Spark friends with me helps to remain focused and the anxiety under control. emoticon
I am planning to be back in the swing of things tomorrow.

I over exerted myself yesterday, and no matter how much I want to push through, I believe in the long run it will be best for me to take, as in the 5K training plan a rest day. I hope to be back in full swing tomorrow.

First off congratulations to us all! It seems that maybe some other folks, like me, are feeling that we're not doing as much as intensely but this is what I say....at least we're doing it. I feel on my way to completing my goal - to get through a very trying period (I'm moving from Brazil back to the USA) without giving in to emotional eating and destructive behavior. I'm feeling good - strong, well nourished, and stretched out.

It seems so often lately life events interfere with my best intentions. However, I did manage to get in all my fruits and vegetables, and did I ever amp the cardio. I wanted to complete my 3.1 mile walk when I had the rare opportunity to be outside. I have had a mouse infestation as a result of work on the sewer and water pipelines, and have spent much of the day vacumming, and sanitizing, yet again. emoticon I will probably do more of the same tomorrow and am hoping to make it to dentist before it storms. I did not get in the extra strength training and hope to complete that as often as possible.
This team is making great progress-Bikini time is just around the corner! emoticon

Hey All -- I'm starting week three today; I found myself backsliding toward the end of week two; I was traveling all weekend for a friend's wedding (which was a great time) but airport food and wedding cake were hard to resist. I'm hoping I can add that extra cardio session to my week somehow; not sure how I'll fit it in yet. The fruit and veggies shouldn't be a problem for me though (at least I can do one thing well!)

PHEW. Time to dive into week 3. I had kind of a food cheat weekend while we were gaming with some friends...pizza and cookies. LOL. But I try to remind myself that a cheat day every once in a while keeps your body from getting adjusted and isn't a bad thing.

Going to dive into the videos today before 3, and try to fit in a workout here at work on the Curves circuit before I leave at 4. I think I can swing it all. :)

Good for you Rockport T9 !!! .....all that stress and you still got in your workouts and good eats.
Aren't hills fun?! I can't wait to get my "hands" on them in a few weeks...hiking...hiking and "meditating" while my daughter is in kindergarten. I grew up in a mountainous area and miss "my hills" greatly.

Got really sick at the end of week 3 and wasn't even able to move for three days. Didn't get to the videos for the last three days and missed one session of cardio. Think I'm gonna do three videos to catch up and try to fit in an extra session of cardio then I'll move on to week 4. Sad I couldn't be totally dedicated- but what can you do I guess. Just gotta keep going.

Week 3 ended amidst my daughter's rehearsal dinner and wedding! It was a week of stress, fun and great joy! I was able to get all the videos in, usually having to double them up on the days when I could fit them in. It was easy to amp up the workout level as I was in the D.C. area with actual hills, not flat like South Texas and was doing lots and lots of walking. I worked to get those fruits and veggies in and water!

This challenge helped me stay focused and reduce the stress a bit during a busy busy time!

Monday - new week, new start. This week I will be more conscious of the food I am eating. Not chastize myself for going over my calorie range, but make sure it's a wholesome choice and I am eating because I'm hungry not bored or tired (my two biggest triggers).

For exercise I'm needing to re-do Week 3 of the Spring into Shape challenge, or..... maybe just do each video twice and knock out Week 3 & 4 at the same time LOL For cardio - Dog Walks daily, run Wednesday, and the 5k I signed up for on Friday night, and boot camp Tues, Thurs & Sat. I would also like to add a stretching or yoga component - maybe the 10 min Sun Salutation after my walks?

School is out Wednesday so I should have my mornings open again (no more endless texts from the Princess needing all the stuff she forgot to take to school or late night cram sessions with my son)

I took a break from the routine of walking, running and the like. Instead, this weekend, I shoveled 26 yards of top soil. When I tell you that I had trouble getting out of bed this morning because my shoulders and arms were sore, that is an understatement! But it is so worth it! It was great exercise and I have something to show for it. Now my husband just needs to put down the sod before the backyard becomes a mosh pit! Hope everyone is doing great!

I started Week 3 last week and then, as the saying goes, "life got in the way!" I went away for a few days and just couldn't get caught up, so I'm starting Week 3 over today. This time, I'll finish it!

DIXONFAMILY7, are you tracking your food? I think that is what's made me so successful. Make sure your calories are within range, that means not eating too many or too few. Drink plenty of water too, it helps flush fat and burn calories. You won't loose weight if you are dehydrated.
