I doubt it could get much harder! You have done it. You will be amazed as you return to similar exercises how much progress you have made! emoticon

Wow. Didn't do pilates in years. Though I was looking forwad to doing it again, I was soo glad when we got off our backs to do some thing different with this workout. Phew! I look forward to having washboard abs by the end of this week. Not! Lol.

I have always loved pilates and been pretty good at it. But, guess what happens when you don't do it for a year and half? Kicked my butt too - it was pretty sad. The side planks killed me and I obviously was doing something wrong because on the right side one of my pec muscles (don't know which ones - not good at anatomy) started hurting, so I stopped. Did the left side and the same thing happened.

Hopefully in Week 4 we'll all be singing a different tune!

I had a crazy hard time! Wow! I know my core is weak but I'm trying to make it stronger. So I have to be very careful not to hurt my lumbar...

Mrstommyd, crunches are great for making your absstrong but they don't make your core as a whole stronger. The core consists of the transverse abdominals, obliques, and rectus abdominus. Some people include your hip flexors and butt but I don't know. So anyway, good job with the crunches! But don't forget the rest of your core.

I agree with you Rosie_Josie Day 5 video was challenging but doable. I too had to make a few minor changes. Guess my core isn't as strong as I thought it was, considering I can do 150 regular crunches. Ya those planks are killer!! Hopefully will get easier in time. Anyway I think everyone is doing a fabulous job!! Watch out Beaches here we come!!!!

I have a broken wrist too - mine has a metal plate in it! I feel your pain girl, it is hard to put so much of my weight on it! This was the hardest workout by far. Also, I am vertically challenged (read: I have TERRIBLE balance) and I slipped and fell in my driveway THREE times this past winter. So my knees are super tender too. Hilarious, I am a walking disaster! Oh well, maybe after 4 weeks and some poundage gone, it won't be so hard? Here's hoping!

I have never tried Zumba, but it looks like it would be extremely challenging for me. To complete the pilates in addition to that is incredible! emoticon

I have never been the most flexible individual, and I have difficulty knowing where my body is in space. That is one of the major reasons I really like these challenges. With some modifications I managed to finish the pilates. Probably one of the most difficult for me. emoticon

Needless to say...Day 5 was a good one...CHALLENGING. I like many had some issues with the side plank. Not a problem getting in position, but then my toes cramped like nobody's buisness. Will try it with shoes next time. Definitely know I have abs...slow is brutal! I am excited to see what the end results are going to be...Hmmm

Done with day 5. Pilates is hard. Cardio is hard at 9:30 pm. It was the only time I could fit it in. Glad I did though. My goal is to complete every day of this challenge.

Loved this video, but I have a hard time doing moves where I have to put my weight onto my hands (such as planks, push-ups etc) because of a wrist that was once fractured, and now has a pin in it. Any suggestions? I just don't have full range of motion in my wrist. This injury was over 10 years ago, and I never regained my full range of motion!! WOO HOO!! Love this

Yep! Today's video was tough. I don't like the Pilates nearly as much as a lot of the other workouts. My core is my weakest so I really needed this!

I also found today's video very challenging! After 5 days I'm sore from the top of my head to the bottoms of my feet. I know it will get easier though. And I wont regret it when I put my bathing suit on for the first time this year!

Done with Day 5. It was hard, but manageable. Had to resort to modified versions most of the time because my neck was killing me. Out of all the workouts done so far, pilates is my least favorite. emoticon Also did 45 minutes of Zumba Cardio Party DVD. I was able to follow most of the moves better than last time, so I'm pretty happy about that. :)

Day 6 looks even harder, but I'll try my best to do it anyway. emoticon

I agree that today's video was very difficult. However I did what I could and then went back to yesterday's and did that as I am 74 and have had 2 open heart surgeries. If this disqualifies me so be it. But I am enjoying the challenges, will modify where I have to but WILL finish and will do the required # of videos along the way even if modified.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who found today's video to be beyond hard. Much of it I had to do the modifications, especially the side planks and at the end of most excercises I took a five second break. I was so frustrated at one point because I was having such a difficult time that I was about in tears, but I talked myself out of it and continued on. I will refer back to this post at the end of the four weeks to remind me how far I have come and when hopefully the day 5 video is a little easier for me! Great job everyone! :) Almost done the first week! WE CAN DO IT!

I think I've always taken Pilates for granted...NEVER AGAIN. This was a hard video, and the side plank was humbling. But, when I first started, I couldn't do a plank at all, and now I can, so I will just remind myself of that and keep coming back to this one until I can do it...well, I won't say "no sweat," certainly...great job everyone!

That pilates was killer. I take a Yoga/Pilates class and do some of those same exercizes, but the side planks with the twist....Yikes! I did Biceps and Triceps this morning, but need to get some cardio in today. Due to an injury, I have to do light cardio, so maybe a long walk tonight will be the best. Great job everyone!

Done with my day 5 workout.
30 minutes of cycling and workout video day 5. I didn't like this video because it was harder for me to follow properly. During the 1st part my neck was killing me. I know I'm very bad when positioning my neck for crunches, anyone any tips? ;)
So, after that I repeated video day 2 which I love and I do feel I've worked my muscles for the 2 following days!

So proud of myself!!!! yey us!

Killer day today so far! In addition to the pilates video...which is awesome...I love pilates...I am not that great at it, but every time I get better it makes me feel so good! I love the improvement I get from doing pilates! I also did 3 of my FIRM Express workouts. Whoa! I had to pause one for a second to catch my breath and get some water and wipe the sweat off! lol!

I am doing their "jump start" this weekend...starting today, which is two - three of their express workouts each day for four days. They say you can see results (with proper eating, too of course) by Monday..so we shall see! I think I'm going to be sore!

Great job everyone on getting through Day 5!

As with the prior core workout I had to substitute the standing core workout found here on SP. Which is a little frustrating because the different workouts are probably better and more intense but I can't do traditional crunches. I guess standing is better than nothing

I will do one thing today to make my life better.

Done with day five! I did a pilates class last night and woke up very sore. Then to my surprise, I got to do the same exercises on the video this morning! I wasn't happy, I don't like pilates. But my core feels sore so I'm glad it got worked well. Went running for 30 minutes and rowing for 10 minutes.

I am so glad to see that others thought the side plank and other exercises on this one were hard. I have had 3 kids so those "muscles" are kind of tired! LOL and these were just TOUGH. But--I tried. The side plank just doesn't work so I'll have to do it next time in shoes--maybe that will give me a little more support and make it easier. We are ALL making progress!! Congrats for getting to day 5!

I could not do the dynamic side plank with ankles stacked, or even side-by-side. My lower legs and ankles don't give me enough feedback to let me know what is going on with them. emoticon I can do static side planks, so I did that.

I could do the exercise with the ankles separated, though. At least, a few of them. I will do more, on each side, in a while! emoticon

I did it with a "helper." My 2-year-old was doing it, too, and hugged me between each excercise. What a great motivation!

Did day 5 - not a good idea when you've had an upset tummy! I know my abs are wak but that hurt even more than usual. I think I'll revisit that workout when I feel a bit less delicate to see if I can improve.

DOGLADY13 - I am so pleased I inspired you to do the kick boxing video; and you were absolutely right: I did do it! And I did another kick boxing video and a third video with Nicole as well making it 30 minutes of hard cardio.
I might very well be hooked on kick boxing. I will happily report that I didn't mess up the jab, cross, hook, knee part today. So it might just work doing it every day.

I also did the abs video - or as much of it as I could possibly manage. Boy was that difficult... Here's to hoping it gets much better in a few months emoticon

I hope everyone feels great today!

I did the abs video (YIKES!) and the cardio kickboxing once through. I didn't want to do the kickboxing video at all, but then I thought of CelieM and that she'd do the kickboxing video. So I figured if she was doing it, I was going to do it.

I didn't get a walk in yesterday so today I definitely need to get out and get a good 30 minute walk in.

She believed she could so she did.

OUCH! These ab videos just kill me. The only thing that keeps me motivated through all the pain is the result-- which I'm hoping will be worth it!

The whole time I was doing that pilates video I was thinking of the good this video is doing for my body. That got me through! I was even tempted to do it again but didn't think that would be such a good idea quite yet. :-P

The Day 5 video is complete. I now see that pilates is my weakness...for now :)

Take care,
